Stoichiometric compositions of ferrites with the chemical formula Li0.5−0.5xCoxFe2.4−0.5xDy0.1O4 with x=0, 0.25, 0.5, 0.75, 1.0 were prepared by the standard double sintering ceramic method. X-ray ...diffraction analysis confirmed the cubic spinel structure of the prepared samples. The structural, morphological and magnetic properties were studied by X-ray diffraction, infra-red spectroscopy (IR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), vibrating sample magnetometry (VSM) and ac susceptibility measurements. Lattice constant, grain size and density increase whereas porosity decreases with the increase in Co2+ substitution. IR measurements show the characteristic ferrite bands. Spectral absorption bands were observed in IR spectroscopic analysis at ν1=564−601cm−1, ν2=486−519cm−1 and ν3=551−578cm−1. The cation distribution estimated by the X-ray diffraction is supported by magnetization and susceptibility studies. The saturation magnetization decreases from 44.25 to 17.14emu/g whereas coercivity remarkably increases from 240.69 to 812.14emu/g with increasing Co2+ substitution. The mechanisms involved are discussed.
Adsorption using sawdust from Malaysian teak wood as adsorbent has been studied in order to remove reactive blue dye from aqueous solutions (AS). The dye removal study comprised of investigation of ...parameters such as concentration of dye, pH, agitation time, and temperature. Optimization was performed using response surface methodology. Kinetics of adsorption of reactive blue dye with activated sawdust was analyzed using Lagergren’s kinetic models, and it was found that the dye reduction efficiency by activated sawdust followed pseudo-second-order kinetic model. Langmuir and Freundlich’s isotherm models were used for the fitment of batch adsorption experimental data, and it was observed that Langmuir model was found to agree with the values obtained by experimentation based on regression analysis and RMSD values. The study showed that activated sawdust as a promising adsorbent for the reduction of reactive blue dye from AS.
DevOps shortly refers to the common intelligent practice of combining the Software Development and Operations to carry out certain set of tasks for automation of jobs. Methodologies in DevOps have ...become first choice for the system administrators to carry out operations 3. Deployment of the Operating System, since a big task, can be carried out by many ways, like manual or an automated method 1. Manual method is a time consuming and prone to errors whereas the automated method is much better in terms of management and repetition. This research paper covers the need of such Automated Deployment method including much needed tasks such as server and client side configurations, centralized monitoring, logging and software patch management. As as addition, the proposed network in itself is self healing at the Operating System level, without compromising security and removing corruption at libraries and binaries level. Use of this optimized method helps reducing administration effort and is prone to no errors. A Self healing service makes sure of no corruption for long term and centralized logging helps monitoring the network as well 5. The Intelligent Networking for Automated Deployment is a DevOps reference project which can be useful for automation in the Organizations for heavy and uniform deployments along with additional monitoring configurations.
Unimodal biometric systems are susceptible to a variety of problems such as noisy data, intra-class variations, limited degrees of freedom, non-universality, spoof attacks and unacceptable error ...rates. Some of these limitations can be addressed by deploy multimodal biometric systems that integrates the evidence presented by multiple sources of information The proposed system provides effective fusion scheme that combines information presented by the multiple domain experts based on the Rank level fusion integration method, thereby increasing the efficiency of the system which is not possible by the unimodal biometric system. The proposed multimodal biometric system has a number of unique qualities, including principal component analysis and fisher's linear discriminate methods for individual matchers authentication. The novel rank level fusion method is used in order to consolidate the results obtained from different biometric matchers.
Introduction: Spontaneous rupture of the membranes any time beyond the 28th week of pregnancy but before the onset of labour is called Premature Rupture of Membranes (PROM). There are many techniques ...for diagnosing PROM that is based on both clinical assessments and biological studies. Each of these procedures has benefits and drawbacks. Since foetal urine is the major source of amniotic fluid, the presence of vagina and a high creatinine level may aid in the diagnosis of PROM. Aim: To determine the cut-off levels of serum creatinine in predicting the PROM. Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted at Dr. DY Patil Medical College, Hospital and Research Centre in Pune, Maharashtra, India from June 1 2020 to June 5 2021. Two equal groups of 140 each pregnant women with gestational ages ranging from 28-42 weeks were created: one with a history of vaginal leaking (the study group, P), and the other with gestationally matched no leakage (the control group, C). Patient’s details such as age, gestational age, and obstetric history were noted. Each patient was examined and cervicovaginal secretions were collected. A 5 mL of saline was flushed in the posterior fornix of vagina. This fluid with vaginal wash was aspirated and creatinine concentration from vaginal fluid was determined by Jaffee synthetic chemical colorimetric method. The Student’s t-test and the Chi-square test were used to analyse the data. Results: The study group’s vaginal fluid creatinine level was substantially higher (p-value<0.001). The cut-off value of 0.6 mg/dL had highest sensitivity 96.1% and specificity 100%. The area under the Receiver Operating Characteristics (ROC) curve was 0.917. The Positive Predictive Value (PPV) and Negative Predictive Value (NPV) of serum creatinine at cut-off 0.6 mg/dL was 100% and 96.3% respectively. Conclusion: Vaginal fluid creatinine is simple and easily available, which makes it acceptable to the candidate for a diagnosis of PROM.
Sir, The description of a novel human coronavirus initially referred to as the Wuhan coronavirus (CoV), currently designated as severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS)-CoV-2 as per the latest ...International Committee on Taxonomy of Viruses (ICTV) classification1 is probably the most recent human pneumonia virus with high outbreak potential. ...date, detailed morphology and ultrastructure of this virus remains incompletely understood. A 500 μl aliquot from this specimen that had tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 nucleic acid by real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) was centrifuged to remove the debris.
Steroidal glycoalkaloids (SGAs) such as α-solanine found in solanaceous food plants— as, for example, potato— are antinutritional factors for humans. Comparative coexpression analysis between tomato ...and potato coupled with chemical profiling revealed an array of 10 genes that partake in SGA biosynthesis. We discovered that six of them exist as a cluster on chromosome 7, whereas an additional two are adjacent in a duplicated genomic region on chromosome 12. Following systematic functional analysis, we suggest a revised SGA biosynthetic pathway starting from cholesterol up to the tetrasaccharide moiety linked to the tomato SGA aglycone. Silencing GLYCOALKALOID METABOLISM 4 prevented accumulation of SGAs in potato tubers and tomato fruit. This may provide a means for removal of unsafe, antinutritional substances present in these widely used food crops.
The Selectfluor-mediated approach toward the synthesis of methylene-tethered arylsulfonation and benzotriazolation of imidazopyridines has been described. The reaction involves imidazopyridine, aryl ...sulfinate, or benzotriazole and dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) in the presence of Selectfluor, where DMSO acts as a one-carbon synthon. The protocol has been extended to the methylene-tethered arylsulfonation and benzotriazolation of β-naphthols. The mechanistic insights show that the intermediate 3-((methylthio)methyl)-2-phenylimidazo1,2-apyridine is generated from imidazopyridine, DMSO, and Selectfluor. The nucleophilic displacement by the aryl sulfinate salt or benzotriazole on the intermediate afforded the product.
Hard disk drives (HDDs) are used as secondary storage in digital electronic devices owing to low cost and large data storage capacity. Due to the exponentially increasing amount of data, there is a ...need to increase areal storage densities beyond ~1 Tb/in
. This requires the thickness of carbon overcoats (COCs) to be <2 nm. However, friction, wear, corrosion, and thermal stability are critical concerns below 2 nm, limiting current technology, and restricting COC integration with heat assisted magnetic recording technology (HAMR). Here we show that graphene-based overcoats can overcome all these limitations, and achieve two-fold reduction in friction and provide better corrosion and wear resistance than state-of-the-art COCs, while withstanding HAMR conditions. Thus, we expect that graphene overcoats may enable the development of 4-10 Tb/in
areal density HDDs when employing suitable recording technologies, such as HAMR and HAMR+bit patterned media.
