The purpose of the work was to determine the possibility of the regenerative surfacing of the upper surface of screw conveyor coils. The screw conveyor, used for the transport of bulk materials in a ...corrosive environment, was originally surfaced with chromium cast iron. The research work discussed in the article resulted in the development of a MAG method-based technology enabling the repair surfacing of screw conveyor coils. The technology involved the use of an EnDOtec DO*11 flux-cored wire and required the previous removal of the hardened upper layer.

The variant of surfacing ...directly on the residues of the hard layer and with the buffer layer was considered. The technology of hardfacing the coils after removal of the hardening upper layer and the technology of welding of new elements with the use of EnDOtec DO*390 powder wire has been developed to provide a NanoAlloy structure with boron nanocarbons in the iron matrix.

These primers are used for temporary protection of steel structures on different production stage before welding. Primers are not removed prior to welding.
The course of overlay welding technology qualification using welding procedure test according to the PN-EN ISO 15614-7 specifications is described. How the preliminary welding procedure specification ...(pWPS) should be prepared is clarified and the type of test pieces as well as the type of tests that should be carried out after overlay welding are presented. The criteria to be met by test pieces so that the welding procedure may be qualified as acceptable are discussed. The qualification range and the details of the welding procedure qualification record (WPQR) also presented. Numerous examples of overlay welding procedure qualification tests, carried out at the Welding Institute are described.
The article presents test results concerning the quality of ISO 14341-A-G3Si1 and G4Si1 electrode wires based on electrode wire-related quality criteria in accordance with the requirements specified ...in the PN-EN ISO 14341 and PN-EN ISO 544 standards. The article discusses the critical defects of the wires (non-conformities with standard requirements) as well as defects not covered by the requirements of the standards, yet decisive as regards the assessment of electrode wires by the user.
