Color, as one of the most important visual features in a product system, can easily cause psychological and emotional resonances. Depending on the importance of user's emotional needs in the market ...and the complexity of a mining process, it can be reflected in the adjective description of color image. In this study, ontology combined with big data was used to mine the color image, a visual sense of user's psychological requirements. The results showed that the constructed color image ontology model could logically express the conceptual knowledge of color image. And this method solved problems that exist in current research on image mining and at the same time increased the accuracy of image information mining. Further examination of the color brand images was used to obtain the idea of “Stylish” and “Natural.” Finally, the acquisition of their physical form was named and surveyed to prove the feasibility of the research approach. This is a new attempt to apply ontology to the color image cognition process.
To explore the clinical features and prognosis of patients with neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) initially presenting with acute brainstem symptoms.
The clinical data of NMOSD patients ...admitted to two medical centers were collected. The clinical characteristics, laboratory data, neuroimaging features and prognoses of patients with NMOSD with acute brainstem manifestations as initial symptoms (NMOSD-BSMIS) were analyzed. The clinical features and prognosis of patients with NMOSD-BSMIS and patients with NMOSD with other manifestations as initial symptoms (NMOSD-OMIS) were compared.
Fifty-two patients (18.37 %, 52/283) initially presented with acute brainstem symptoms. Intractable nausea, vomiting or hiccups, diplopia, vertigo, headache, and facial hypoesthesia were the initial symptoms in most of the patients. The percentage of patients who were positive for serum aquaporin 4 (AQP4)-IgG antibodies was 81.63 % (40/49). MRI revealed that the lesions were usually located in the postrema, dorsal medulla oblongata, pons and other areas around the fourth ventricle. The early-stage misdiagnosis rate was 46.15 %. Compared with those in the non-misdiagnosed group, the age of onset of patients in the NMOSD-BSMIS group was older, and the proportion of patients admitted to the neurology department as the first department was lower in the misdiagnosed group. The annual relapse rate of patients who underwent NMOSD-BSMIS was significantly greater than that of patients who underwent NMOSD-OMIS (P < 0.01).

The success of a new product is usually determined not by whether it includes high-end technology, but by whether it meets consumer expectations, especially key Kansei demands. This article aims to ...evaluate attractive factors (Kansei words) and convert them to design elements to make products stand out in the global competition. The evaluation grid method (EGM) is an important research method of Miryoku engineering. The method can build qualitative relations among consumers’ attractive factors and design elements. The quality function deployment (QFD) is a quantitative method which converts customer requirements into engineering characteristics using the House of Quality Matrix. The QFD together with the concept of fuzziness can objectively measure questionnaires made by experts. Accordingly, this paper proposes a systematic approach that integrates the EGM together with the fuzzy QFD for the development of new products. The fuzzy Kano model combined with the fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (AHP) is developed to determine the priority of the development of attractive factors. This empirical study uses minicars as an example to verify the feasibility and validity of the approach. The results are expected to help designers to increase design efficiency and improve consumer satisfaction of new products.
Product market competitiveness is positively influenced by the aesthetic value of product form, which is closely related to product complexity. By measuring the cognitive complexity of the product, ...this research establishes the relationship between the complexity and aesthetics of the product using an artificial neural network. Hence the prediction of product beauty is achieved, which guides design decisions. In this article, the complexity of product form is first measured through a combination of hesitant-fuzzy theory and information axiom. Afterward, the result is weighted by exponential entropy and dimensionally compressed. This method makes data more suitable for the prediction with small samples, obtaining an accuracy improvement of up to 40% compared with traditional approaches. Finally, the importance order of the design elements which affect morphological complexity is acquired. Results show that three of the six complexity features (element number, object intelligence, and object detail) are more significant, impacting the aesthetic feeling of product form. The method increases the attractiveness of products to customers, providing valuable design support for enterprises and designers in the early days when a new product is designed, and reducing research and development risks.
Bacterial infections, especially antibiotic-resistant bacterial infections, pose a significant threat to human health. Supramolecular gel with innate antibacterial properties is an advanced material ...for the treatment of bacterial infections, which have attracted great attention. Herein, a reactive oxygen species (ROS)-responsive innate antibacterial supramolecular gel is developed by a bottom-up approach based on phenylalanine and hydrazide with innate antibacterial properties. The structure of gelators and intermediate products was characterized by proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1H NMR) and a high-resolution mass spectrum (HRMS). The results of 1H NMR and the Fourier transform infrared spectrum (FT–IR) experiment disclosed that hydrogen bonding and the π–π stacking force are the important self-assembly driving forces of gelators. The microstructure and mechanical properties of gel were studied by Scanning electron microscope (SEM) and Rheometer, respectively. An in vitro degradation experiment proved that the gelator has ROS-responsive degradation properties. The in vitro drug release experiment further manifested that antibiotic-loaded gel has ROS-responsive drug-release performances. An in vitro cytotoxicity experiment showed that the supramolecular gel has good biocompatibility and could promote cell proliferation. The in vitro antibacterial experiment proved that the supramolecular gel has excellent inherent antibacterial properties, and the antibacterial rate against Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) and Escherichia coli (E. coli) was 98.6% and 99.1%, respectively. The ROS-responsive supramolecular gel as a novel antibacterial agent has great application prospects in treating antibiotic-resistant bacterial-infected wounds and preventing the development of bacterial resistance.
Dermal adipocyte lineage cells are highly plastic and can undergo reversible differentiation and dedifferentiation in response to various stimuli. Using single-cell RNA sequencing of developing or ...wounded mouse skin, we classify dermal fibroblasts (dFBs) into distinct non-adipogenic and adipogenic cell states. Cell differentiation trajectory analyses identify IL-1-NF-κB and WNT-β-catenin as top signaling pathways that positively and negatively associate with adipogenesis, respectively. Upon wounding, activation of adipocyte progenitors and wound-induced adipogenesis are mediated in part by neutrophils through the IL-1R-NF-κB-CREB signaling axis. In contrast, WNT activation, by WNT ligand and/or ablation of Gsk3, inhibits the adipogenic potential of dFBs but promotes lipolysis and dedifferentiation of mature adipocytes, contributing to myofibroblast formation. Finally, sustained WNT activation and inhibition of adipogenesis is seen in human keloids. These data reveal molecular mechanisms underlying the plasticity of dermal adipocyte lineage cells, defining potential therapeutic targets for defective wound healing and scar formation.

Photodynamic and photothermal therapies are promising approaches to deal with implant‐associated infection. However, the efficacy of monotherapy is often insufficient, posing the importance of ...combinatory therapies. Herein, the AlNbTiO2 and InNbTiO2 ceramics are prepared by (In, Nb) and (Al, Nb) co‐doping into TiO2 ceramics via a solid‐phase reaction. The co‐doping enhances the visible/ near infrared (NIR) light adsorption and endows the TiO2 with excellent photocatalytic and photothermal properties, which is likely due to the formation of large defect‐dipole clusters and oxygen vacancies. The antibacterial efficacy of AlNbTiO2/InNbTiO2 ceramics is 99.04%/98.56% against E. coli and 95.06%/93.68% against S. aureus within 10 min under 808 nm NIR light irradiation, which is ascribed to the synergistic action of enhanced photocatalytic and photothermal effects. Cell culture experiments using MC3T3‐E1 cells prove that the viability and proliferation of MC3T3‐E1 cultured on TiO2 and AlNbTiO2/InNbTiO2 ceramics are comparable, emphasizing their excellent biocompatibility as well. This study suggests that AlNbTiO2/InNbTiO2 has potential application as an antibacterial bioceramic or coating for orthopedic implants.
The photo‐responsive TiO2 ceramics are prepared by (Al/In, Nb) co‐doped into TiO2 ceramic via solid‐phase reaction, which induces strong adsorption of visible and near infrared (NIR) light. The AlNbTiO2/ InNbTiO2 ceramic shows excellent NIR‐responsive antibacterial activity due to the synergistic effect of hyperthermia and the generated reactive oxygen species and shows good in vitro biocompatibility.
The effects of dimethylaminododecyl methacrylate (DMADDM) modified titanium implants on bacterial activity and microbial ecosystem of saliva-derived biofilm were investigated for the first time. ...Titanium discs were coated with DMADDM solutions at mass fractions of 0 mg/mL (control), 1, 5 and 10 mg/mL, respectively. Biomass accumulation and metabolic activity of biofilms were tested using crystal violet assay and MTT (3-(4,5-Dimethyl-thiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide) assay. 16S rRNA gene sequencing was performed to measure the microbial community. Live/dead staining and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) were used to value the structure of biofilm. The results showed that the higher mass fraction of DMADDM the coating solution had, the significantly lower the values of metabolic activity and accumulated biofilms got, as well as fewer live cells and less extracellular matrix. Moreover, 5 mg/mL of DMADDM was the most effective concentration, as well as 10 mg/mL. In microecosystem-regulation, the DMADDM modified titanium implant decreased the relative abundance of Neisseria and Actinomyces and increased the relative abundance of Lactobacillus, a probiotic for peri-implant diseases. In conclusion, via inhibiting growth and regulating microecosystem of biofilm, this novel titanium implant coating with DMADDM was promising in preventing peri-implant disease in an ‘ecological manner’.
Implant‐related microbial infection is a challenging clinical problem, and its treatment requires efficient eradication of the biofilm from the implant surface. Near‐infrared (NIR)‐responsive ...strategies are proposed as an emerging efficient antibacterial therapy. However, the utilization of photosensitizers or photocatalytic/photothermal nanomaterials in the available approach likely induces high potential risks of interfacial deterioration and biosafety compromise. Herein, a TiO2/TiO2−x metasurface with potent NIR‐responsive antibacterial activity is produced on a Ti alloy implant by a newly invented topochemical conversion‐based alkaline–acid bidirectional hydrothermal method (aaBH). Electromagnetic simulations prove that NIR absorption and near‐field distribution of the metasurface can be tuned by the dimension and arrangement of the nanostructural unit. Promising antibacterial efficacy is proved by both in vitro and in vivo tests, with low‐power NIR irradiation for 10 min. Besides, the designed nanostructure in the metasurface itself also shows excellence in enhancing the adhesion‐related gene expression of human gingival fibroblasts that are exposed to 10 min of NIR irradiation, proving the potent nanostructure‐induced biological effects. This work provides a biosafe and upscalable metasurfacing approach with extraordinary capacity of manipulating light adsorption, photocatalysis, and biological properties.
A metasurface is constructed on a Ti alloy by a newly invented alkaline–acid bidirectional hydrothermal (aaBH) strategy, which manipulates the light–matter interaction and induces the strong adsorption of near‐infrared (NIR) light. The aaBH‐treated Ti alloy implants show potent NIR‐responsive antibacterial activity and possess a strong ability to promote the anchorage of human gingival fibroblasts on their surface.
