Cytostatic activity of baicalin, baicalein, and neogalenical drug Chlorophyllipt was studied
in vitro
on HeLa-v cells. Standard samples of Eucalimin, baicalin, and baicalein, as well as ...Chlorophyllipt and paclitaxel (reference drug Taxacad) were used. The cell deaths were determined by MTT assay in a Multiskan FC microplate reader with incubator. The effective inhibition concentration (IC
50
) of the tested substances were: paclitaxel (4.0±0.4 μM)—baicalein (10.5±1.1 μM)—baicalin (16.5±1.7 μM)—sum of euglobals in Chlorophyllipt (24.1±2.5 μM). Chlorophyllipt was found to exhibit cytostatic activity. Cytostatic activity of baicalein, baicalin, and Chlorophyllipt was lower than cytostatic activity of the reference drug by 2.6, 4.1, and 6 times, respectively. The prospects of further evaluation of the synergetic effect of baicalin, baicalein, and chlorophyllipt used in combinations with different cytostatic agents for finding the most effective combination have been shown.
The article carries out social survey analysis in the social environment of non-linguistic students of higher institution on the problems that arise when using blended and e-learning formats for ...foreign language acquisition. The paper lists the most popular online resources for extracurricular foreign language acquisition. Based on the results of the survey, the author concludes that the blended format of foreign language acquisition for non-linguistic students should be firmly integrated into the higher education system along with the classroom format. The study has confirmed the need to use the blended format for foreign language acquisition as the mostoptimal format of training in non-linguistic universities for both students and teachers. The research materials will be interesting to manufacturers of applications for foreign languages learning, websites that promote electronic learning of foreign languages, employees of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, and other researchers and teachers.
Chitosan (Chi) is a biodegradable nontoxic polycation with multiple reactive groups that is easily used to obtain derivatives with a desired charge and hydrophobic properties. The aim of this work ...was to study the intracellular traffic of positively charged hexanoyl-chitosan (HC) or HC-based nanoparticles (HCNPs) and negatively charged succinoyl-chitosan (SC) and SCNPs in epithelial and macrophage cell lines. By using flow cytometry we demonstrated that positively charged HC adhered to cell membranes quicker and more efficiently than negatively charged SC or NPs. However confocal studies showed that SC and SCNPs penetrated cells much more efficiently than HC while HCNPs did not enter the epithelial cells. Macrophages also phagocyted better negatively charged material but were able to engulf both HC and HCNPs. Upon entering the cells, SC and SCNPs were co-localized with endosomes and lysosomes while HC was found in mitochondria and, to a lesser extent, in lysosomes of epithelial cells. Macrophages, RAW264.7, more efficiently transported all Chi samples to the lysosomal compartment while some positively charged material was still found in mitochondria. Incubation of Chi derivatives and ChiNPs at pH specific to mitochondria (8.0) and lysosomes (4.5) demonstrated the neutralization of Chi charge. We concluded that epithelial cells and, to a lesser extent, macrophages sort charged material to the organelles neutralizing Chi charge.

The authors of the article present and analyze surveys of first, second and third year students of the State University of Management in Moscow on issues and problems related to project activities in ...a foreign language within the framework of curricula in the disciplines “Foreign Language” and “Foreign language of professional business communication”. As a result of the study, the authors conclude that students mostly come to the university with project work skills and improve them over several semesters at the university. The study revealed the most popular programs and platforms that students use to complete project tasks, and also the examples of managerial capacity and volitional powers that, in the opinion of students, a student should acquire in the process of project implementation. The article describes the main factors that can encourage them to do project work, and some problems associated with the implementation of project activities at the State University of Management. The results obtained reflect the university realities of students’ project work in a foreign language and can be useful to methodologists and developers of university curricula.
The study was performed to assess the endoscopic state of the nasal mucosa after the use of local anti-inflammatory and antibacterial therapy, in particular, Polydexa nasal spray with phenylephrine ...containing Dexamethasone sodium metasulfobenzoate + Neomycin + Polymyxin B + Phenylephrine, and for the treatment of granulomatosis with polyangiitis.
The study included 940 patients who underwent examination and treatment for chronic rhinosinusitis in the clinic of otorhinolaryngology of I.P. Pavlov SPbSMU surgical treatment of the paranasal sinuses underwent 907 patients. In the postoperative period, the first group (211 patients) underwent toileting of the nasal cavity. The second group (307 patients) received irrigation therapy. The third group (389 patients) received a topical treatment combined of Polydexa with phenylephrine. The dynamics of the condition was assessed on the 1st, 3rd and 7th days of treatment, the evaluation of the effectiveness of the treatment was carried out on the 3rd and 7th days. Differential diagnosis with granulomatosis with polyangiitis was carried out in 33 patients. All patients with granulomatosis with polyangiitis showed signs of chronic rhinosinusitis. Patients were prescribed local anti-inflammatory and antibacterial therapy with Polydexa with phenylephrine for 7 days with endoscopic control of the nasal cavity.
The use of the combined topical drug Polydexa with phenylephrine in patients with chronic rhinosinusitis and in patients with granulomatosis with polyangiitis has a positive effect, which reduces the clinical manifestations of chronic rhinosinusitis.
We studied the expression of transcription factors RUNX2 and Osterix after addition of a concentrate of osteogenic-conditioned medium to the culture medium for osteogenic differentiation of ...mesenchymal stem cells (MSC). The obtained concentrate of osteogenic-conditioned medium containing a complex of bioactive substances with a molecular weight >10 kDa provided MSC differentiation into osteoblasts, which was confirmed by high level of expression of transcription factors RUNX2 and Osterix in comparison with the negative control. The highest expression of transcription factor Osterix was revealed on day 14 of MSC culturing in the presence of osteogenic supplement StemPro (positive control) and the studied concentrate of osteogenic-conditioned medium.
The article deals with the psycholinguistic problems and risks related to preparing, organising and conducting online foreign language testing which is firmly entrenched in the education system as a ...convenient and objective form of control. The authors study the linguistic and didactic aspects of computer-based testing, psychological issues related to students’ activities and analyse the results of the survey aimed at revealing the emerging difficulties and risks. The paper aim is to maximise the quality of test tasks, minimise possible psychological difficulties and improve the effectiveness of preparing students for the testing period by means of developing the necessary language and speech skills, as well as psychological readiness. The survey data shows that most students have positive opinion concerning online testing and give adequate assessment of its difficulty level. They demonstrate readiness to adapt their activities to the requirements of such test format.
The article is devoted to the issues and problems connected with e-teaching of foreign languages for students in higher school. The results of pre- and post-pandemic surveys after two lockdowns which ...universities of the Russian Federation suffered from during 2019/2020 and 2020/2021academic years have been compared. The comparative analysis of pre- and post-pandemic students’ attitude to e-learning at the university on the whole and to foreign languages e-learning in particular has been weighed. The authors assessed students’ reaction to possible transition to e-learning, following gradual adaptation to new conditions during lockdown and the role of information technologies in e-learning.
Aiming at fundamental analysis of distant learning the authors conducted students’ opinion surveys of the State University of Management on the issues of risks, disadvantages, convenience and advantages of the electronic and blended learning generally and on the issues of foreign language acquisition particularly. Besides, the attainments and skills that the students acquired during the periods of e-learning and which are, in students’ opinion, an essential part of their professional acquirements, have been studied.
The article presents the results of postpandemic opinion survey, shows the main problems and advantages of electronic learning, reveals the types of foreign language activities, most recommendable for e-learning, makes conclusions about the advantages of the electronic and blended learning for foreign language acquisition in modern conditions. The conclusions about the necessity of the individual approach to each student even during e-learning have been made.
The article examines one of the possible applications of speech activity theory and the text psychological structure as the product of this activity to the research of personnel wellbeing. Very ...often, an employee’s wellbeing status is inaccessible to management. The idea is that the verbal behaviour psychological pattern can be used as an indicator of employee wellbeing status perception. The authors’ aim was to develop a text analysis model to be used for revealing the peculiarities of wellbeing perception status; to determine the most diagnostic parameters of the model; and to apply them to the personnel wellbeing assessment. The authors’ conclusions are based on analyzing numerous personnel speech samples, which show how the model functions as an instrument for measuring the real quality of wellbeing status perception and how diagnostic the proposed model parameters are. The research of speech samples, which belong to university foreign language trainers from Russia and Kazakhstan, allows us to describe a typical teacher who is not satisfied with career opportunities available, the level of salary and constant management pressure. The results of the study can be applied to practical human resource management and the development of new ways of motivating and training employees in any professional field.
The aim of the article is to look at the concept of e-portfolio for language learners, discuss the perspectives of its application in higher educational institutions of Russia and analyse the degree ...of readiness for introducing it in the system of education on a wide scale. Using the observations described by different researchers, training experience in teaching foreign languages and the results of interviewing students and University professors and tutors the authors arrive at a conclusion that the educational community is generally prepared for e-portfolio application. Most difficulties are related to the absence of administrative regulation, insufficient digital competency and other reasons of psychological origin which make the university staff and the students prejudiced against this highly efficient digital tool. The authors formulate a number of didactic recommendations to facilitate the introduction and effective application of e-portfolio for language learners.
