" Power system modelling and scripting is a quite general and ambitious title. Of course, to embrace all existing aspects of power system modelling would lead to an encyclopedia and would be likely ...an impossible task. Thus, the book focuses on a subset of power system models based on the following assumptions: (i) devices are modelled as a set of nonlinear differential algebraic equations, (ii) all alternate-current devices are operating in three-phase balanced fundamental frequency, and (iii) the time frame of the dynamics of interest ranges from tenths to tens of seconds. These assumptions basically restrict the analysis to transient stability phenomena and generator controls. The modelling step is not self-sufficient. Mathematical models have to be translated into computerprogramming code in order to be analyzed, understood and ""experienced"". It is an object of the book to provide a general framework for a power system analysis software tool and hints for filling up this framework with versatile programming code.This book is for all students and researchers that are looking for a quick reference on power system models or need some guidelines for starting the challenging adventure of writing their own code."

In this paper, an algorithm for energy management system (EMS) based on multi-layer ant colony optimization (EMS-MACO) is presented to find energy scheduling in Microgrid (MG). The aim of study is to figure out the optimum operation of micro-sources for decreasing the electricity production cost by hourly day-ahead and real time scheduling. The proposed algorithm is based on ant colony optimization (ACO) method and is able to analyze the technical and economic time dependent constraints. This algorithm attempts to meet the required load demand with minimum energy cost in a local energy market (LEM) structure. Performance of MACO is compared with modified conventional EMS (MCEMS) and particle swarm optimization (PSO) based EMS. Analysis of obtained results demonstrates that the system performance is improved also the energy cost is reduced about 20% and 5% by applying MACO in comparison with MCEMS and PSO, respectively. Furthermore, the plug and play capability in real time applications is investigated by using different scenarios and the system adequate performance is validated experimentally too.
This book has a long history. It began over two decades ago as the first half of a book on information and ergodic theory. The intent was and remains to provide a reasonably self-contained advanced ...(at least for engineers) treatment of measure theory, probability theory, and random processes, with an emphasis on general alphabets and on ergodic and stationary properties of random processes that might be neither ergodic nor stationary. The intended audience was mathematically inclined engineers who had not had formal courses in measure theoretic probability or ergodic theory. Much of the material is familiar stuff for mathematicians, but many of the topics and results had not then previously appeared in books. The original project grew too large and the first part contained much that would likely bore mathematicians and discourage them from the second part. Hence I finally followed a suggestion to separate the material and split the project in two. The resulting manuscript fills a unique hole in the literature. Personal experience indicates that the intended audience rarely has the time to take a complete course in measure and probability theory in a mathematics or statistics department, at least not before they need some of the material in their research. I intended in this book to provide a catalogue of many results that I have found need of in my own research together with proofs that I could follow. I also intended to clarify various connections that I had found confusing or insufficiently treated in my own reading. If the book provides similar service for others, it will have succeeded.
Covering the development of field computation in the past forty years, Field Models in Electricity and Magnetism intends to be a concise, comprehensive and up-to-date introduction to field models in ...electricity and magnetism, ranging from basic theory to numerical applications.
