A high number of both qualitative and quantitative research studies have been conducted on inclusion practice in Turkey. In postgraduate theses focusing on inclusion practice via a qualitative design ...to comprehensively describe and understand the issue, the goal is mostly to determine teachers’ opinions. The aim of this research, on the other hand, is to examine postgraduate theses investigating the opinions of teachers who work in inclusion classes. For this purpose, five researches were focused. It has been designed in line with meta-ethnography design to study the postgraduate theses conducted in Turkey employing semi-structured interviews—one of the qualitative data collection techniques. A comparative and exploratory analysis process has been administered to identify the shared and different themes in the aforementioned studies. Accordingly, three themes have been determined, which are a) current situation of inclusion practice, b) problems in inclusion practice, and c) teachers’ expectations as to improving the quality of inclusion practice. Based on the findings of research studies completed around inclusion practice and teachers’ opinions, it is possible to conclude that there is a need for development-centered action research at inclusion schools and classes.

More recently, in social sciences, especially in pedagogy, different research experiences imply different research styles and philosophical approaches that need to be known before conducting research. This paper gives an overview of different research approaches and scientific paradigms within which it is possible to create and direct a personal research project (or research). The aim and purpose of the paper is to explore various research approaches and methodological frameworks that are reflected in the representation of certain scientific paradigms, the presence of qualitative and quantitative methodology and various research techniques used by future teachers in their research. For this reason, 159 graduate theses of students of teacher study, which were publicly defended from January 2015 to December 2017, were explored. Insight into students’ graduate theses gives the following results: out of the total number of graduate papers (159), 132 (83%) has a research part. Furthermore, the scientific field predominantly used in the research is social science (36.47%), and within it the field of pedagogy (46.55%). According to the type of research, dominant are empirical, fundamental, transversal and research of the present. Of all the research paradigms investigated, the most prominent is the positivist (60.6%), and then the constructivist (17.43%) and post-positivist (15.91%) paradigm. Applied research dominate (78%), while development research (5%) is still insufficiently represented and recognized by students.
We evaluated titles and abstracts of 372 marine biology master's theses to identify the marine taxa researched by graduate students at our institution. Of 191 species investigated since 1976, the 15 ...most-researched species are regionally important and have each been researched at least five times. Fisher exact tests identified taxa demonstrating statistically significant recent growth in research. A collection analysis of monographs about these species and taxa compared to four peer institutions highlighted strengths and weaknesses within our marine biology collection. This investigation demonstrates how taxonomic data in titles and abstracts can serve as a tool to guide biology collection development.
Traditionally, social research in Mexico has not adjusted so much to a multilingual phenomenal reality as to a monolingualistic social imaginary representation. This means that when researchers ...analyze their reality, they do so under personal biases; thus, ignoring and hiding the daily multilingual reality. To find out how these linguistic prejudices and biases affect the methods applied, the authors of the present case study analyzed 77 postgraduate theses carried out in 2002-2019 at Universidad Veracruzana, Mexico. These theses applied interview techniques to speakers of national indigenous languages. The results show their study designs tend to linguistically homogenize populations based on a monolingual nationalist imagined community. A prevalence of more than 90 % in the application of linguistically minoritizing interviews evidences the pervasiveness of monolingual attitudes in the academy that limit methodological results and discriminate against studied populations. This means that the detection of linguistically minoritizing interviews can serve as another indicator to assess the university as an entity that exercises linguistic pressure on the communities being studied.
The aim of this study is to examine post-graduate thesesin nursing in Turkey between 1980-2015 and to determine the distribution of theses according to years, research types and research topics. The ...study was carried out with documental analysis. Theses on the subject area were collected from National Theses Center of Turkish Council of Higher Education. When the research studies are analyzed, what draws attention is that nearly all of them are experimental or quasi-experimental studies. The researchers mostly examined organizational behaviors. Another topic examined in graduate theses was patient care. Most common third experienced subject in field of nursing was nursing education. According to our results 44,37% of postgraduate theses in nursing were conducted in 2007-2015, 34,46% in 2000-2006 and the others before 2000. While 33,33% of postgraduate theses in nursing focused on patient care in 2000-2006 this proportion increased to 44,18% in 2007-2015. 258 (38,16%) of 676 theses focused on patient care, 303 (44,82%) on organizational behavior and 115(17,01%) on nursing education. When distribution of research designs used in postgraduatetheses in nursing was analyzed 32,69% of theses were designed experimental, 18,78% quasi-experimental and 39,49 non-experimental. 6,80% of postgraduate theses were descriptive.
We analyzed serial citations in 72 marine biology master's theses as well as the ranking data of aquatic science serials from six global serial citation metrics, to assess serial use by marine ...biology graduate students from two perspectives. From 1,035 unique serials, a core of 123 titles was identified and evaluated for access. Citation ages averaged 13.5 years, with 27% of serial citations dated prior to 1996. Students cited serials from disciplines beyond marine biology, demonstrating broad title dispersion compared to several other studies. Recommendations are offered for future investigation to develop a stronger understanding of graduate students' use of the library's serial collection.
