The clash between the Party’s “healthy forces” or the conservatives with the “liberals” took place in the League of Communists of Slovenia (ZKS) in the autumn of 1972. At the end of September 1972, ...the members of the Party received a letter from the presidium of the League of Communists of Yugoslavia (ZKJ) and the executive bureau of the presidium of the ZKJ or the so-called Tito’s letter. The letter said that the matter at hand is the fate of socialism in Yugoslavia and that the Communists therefore need to intensify their activity in self-government authorities, state authorities and socio-political organisations. The letter was primarily aimed against liberalism. The Kamnik municipal committee of the League of Communists discussed the letter at the second session of the Kamnik municipal conference of the ZKS, which took place on 12 October 1972 in the meeting room of the Assembly of the Municipality of Kamnik. The article presents the main highlights of this discussion, which show that aside from a few rare exceptions most participants in the discussion did not comprehend the significance of Tito’s views and the change of the “Party’s course”.
The area of the eastern Kamnik-Savinja Alps was glaciated in the time of the Last Pleistocene Glacial Maximum (LGM). The glacial landforms mentioned by the previous researchers and other landforms in ...the area were examined, gemorphologically mapped, morphographically and morphometrically analysed and a new map of the extent of the LGM was produced. The research revealed several glaciers in the area and that their sizes differed, primarily depending on the slope inclination direction.
The contribution contains an overview of the Communist Party‘s operation in the Kamnik area as well as some consequences of its operation during the war and in the early post-war years. The analysis ...based on archival and other sources shows the organisation and operation of the Communist Party during the war and the consequences of its operation. This refers mainly to the victims, most of which were civilians. The article also presents the post-war repressive measures and the influence the Communist Party had over development in the early post-war years. This period is imbued with revolutionary violence and represents the toughest period of communist totalitarianism.
The Skuta Glacier in the Kamnik–Savinja Alps (in northern Slovenia) is one of the two remaining glaciers in Slovenia. It is located in a cirque oriented toward the northwest, which shields it from ...sunlight for most of the year. The glacier lies at an average elevation of 2070m. In recent years, its average area has measured around 1.5 hectares. Monitoring of the glacier has been performed since 1946. In 1962, regular photographing of the glacier with various cameras started from various non-fixed standpoints. Using the single image interactive orientation acquisition method, in which a single photograph is compared with the projection of a modern digital terrain model, seventeen photographs covering the period from 1970 to 2015 were used to acquire the 3D-perimeters of the glacier. The data shows that the elevation of glacier’s upper edge decreased by approximately 40m in the last half-century. Changes in the glacier’s area and average upper edge elevation were compared with average annual temperature and maximum seasonal snow cover depth.
The essay addresses the complex background of the origins of the high quality frescoes in the succursal church of St. Primus and Felician above Kamnik from the beginning of the 16th century. The ...author demonstrates that the frescoes were commissioned by the Marian Confraternity in Kamnik. The confraternity closely modeled the design and individual iconographic details on work commissioned by the renowned Rosary Brotherhood in Cologne or in close connection to it. That link is further supported by the Slovenians’ famous pilgrimages to that city, which can be traced from the 14th century onwards. The route to the Rhineland led them through Nuremberg, the town of Albrecht Dürer, whose influence can be recognized in stylistic characteristics of the frescoes. Furthermore, the association of Dürer with confraternities of the Rosary indicates the close interconnectedness of Rosary brotherhoods across Central Europe.
Studying comparative material based on studies of folklore associated with believing in water deities and folksong traditions has led to new insight into why the Kamnik Lake breached the natural dam: ...discovering that the spill actually occurred following an earthquake in 1348. Opposing this finding is the absence of written testimonies about the lake and its spill in contemporaneous chronicles. This prompted further research, including finding additional testimonies about the earthquake and other events in the second half of the 14th century as well as interpretations of mythological traditions associated with earthquakes.
Planinske koče so v neposeljenem gorskem svetu skoraj edini lokalni vir onesnaževanja. V raziskavi smo opredelili štiri okoljske vplive planinskih koč: oskrbovanje in ravnanje z odpadki, ogrevanje in ...pridobivanje električne energije, oskrba z vodo in ravnanje z odpadnimi vodami ter število in obnašanje obiskovalcev. S pomočjo ankete smo ocenili okoljske vplive izbranih planinskih koč. Najbolj problematična sta velika količina odpadkov in porabljene vode, kot dobro lahko označimo oskrbovanje, kot zelo dobro ogrevanje koč in pridobivanje električne energije.
The Triglav Glacier in the Julian Alps and the Skuta Glacier in the Kamnik-Savinja Alps are among the south-easternmost glaciers in the Alps. Historical data show that ice masses are undergoing mass ...loss as the overall climate warms. Glacier ice and cave ice contain a wealth of paleoclimatic information, and rapid sampling is needed if any such information is to be saved before the ice is completely melted. We present the first comprehensive geochemical and water isotope data from glacier ice, meltwater, spring water, and cave ice in the Mount Triglav area and glacier ice from the Skuta Glacier. The samples primarily reflect the initial precipitation signal that has been greatly modified by the input of local CaCO3-rich dust with lesser amounts of marine aerosol and vegetation debris.
On very steep dolomite slopes in the western foothills of the Kamnik Alps (Ravni hrib, Javorov vrh, Zaplata, Kriška gora) and southwestern Karavanke Mountains (Dobrča) we conducted a ...phytosociological study into montane grasslands (former hay meadows, partly pastures) where
a species of European conservation concern, also occasionally occurs. They were compared with similar montane grasslands (former hay meadows) on sunny slopes of the Stol ridge above Breginj in the southwestern foothills of the Julian Alps. Based on this comparison we described three new syntaxa:
and
. Both new associations are classified into the alliance
and treated as a long-term successional stage in the belt of altimontane beech forests from the association
