Within the framework of the basic research project The Župna cerkev Cemetery in Kranj, intended for the publication and research of materials from archaeological excavations of the eponymous burial ...ground, digital primary forms of archival sources are presented. So far, we have published field journals, field drawings and anthropological diaries in six volumes, and the new e-publication shows sketching blocks with field drawings of planums and more than 1,500 graves excavated between 1969 and 1973.
Negotiations between the public and private sectors in the urban regeneration process can help achieve public interest objectives. Two conventional urban indicators, the floor area ratio FAR and the ...site coverage ratio SCR, are used as steering instruments to examine the success of the city’s entrance into dynamic negotiations with private owners. A comparison of the starting development vision and final result at the conclusion of the negotiations shows that the negotiation process has yielded significant benefits for all parties involved.

Politik in književnik Ivan Tavčar je med letoma 1877 in 1880 živel v Kranju. To obdobje njegovega življenja je bilo že tematizirano v številnih biografijah, vendar fragmentarno, s prikazom izbranih ...področij in zapostavljanjem preostalih. Pričujoči prispevek predstavlja poskus v celoto povezati dostopne podatke o Tavčarjevem bivanju v Kranju, ki so razpršeni po časopisju, arhivskih virih, strokovnih razpravah in drugem gradivu. Analiza nekoliko presenetljivo razkriva, da je Tavčarjevo javno delovanje v Kranju dokumentirano le površno, medtem ko so njegove ljubezenske zveze v gradivu podrobno zabeležene.
The book discusses the minor settlements that dotted the territory of present-day Slovenia in the Roman period. This geographically diverse territory was crossed by important lines of communication ...and divided between three large administrative units of the Roman state: Italy and the provinces of Noricum and Upper Pannonia. Twenty-six authors wrote contributions on individual settlements in a comprehensive and clear manner roughly following a common concept. The presentation of each settlement opens with its location and name in Antiquity, possible habitation traces from prehistory, mentions in ancient literary texts and documents, and recovered epigraphic evidence. The next, main part offers an overview of the archaeological remains from the Roman period: topography, infrastructure, buildings, cemeteries and portable remains of particular significance. This is followed by the information on the status of a settlement, social standing of its inhabitants, their administrative or military functions, as well as professional or ethnical background. All is brought together in an outline of the historical development of each settlement.
V članku so predstavljena izkopavanja kamnitih gomil z žganimi pokopi na območju Vile Prah in s Koroške ceste v Kranju, ki sta jih v letu 1939 opravila R. Ložar in V. Herfort. Na podlagi revizije ...arhivskega gradiva je bilo mogoče deloma rekonstruirati lego posameznih najdb in skupkov najdb, ki pripadajo domnevno več žarnim pokopom znotraj kamnite grobne kamre z območja Vile Prah. Z izkopavanj na Koroški cesti v Kranju so se ohranile grobne celote žarnih grobov. Predstavljene so tudi ostale železnodobne grobne najdbe iz Kranja in Stražišča pri Kranju ter Stanežič pri Ljubljani, ki jih hranijo v Narodnem muzeju Slovenije. Nove ugotovitve ter primerjalna analiza ostalih gorenjskih grobišč kažejo, da se je gomilni pokop na Gorenjskem pojavil že v zgodnji železni dobi, ob tem se je ohranil tudi plan žgani pokop. Večina grobišč, ki so se pojavila v zgodnji železni dobi, so bila konec stopnje Ljubljana IIIa/Podzemelj 2 opuščena. V gradivu s Koroške ceste v Kranju se zrcali vpliv svetolucijske skupine, kar dodatno potrjuje domnevo S. Gabrovca o širjenju interesnega območja svetolucijske skupine na območje Gorenjske.
The individual phases of the moon show us this nocturnal satellite subjected to the laws of a cycle of dying and rising. In ancient times different peoples honoured the moon and the stars and felt ...connected to them in some way. These two symbols are present in various ways on ancient coins such as Greek, Roman or even Celtic ones. The representation of these symbols on ancient coins is sometimes different and has different meanings. The symbol of the crescent moon with the star was revived again in the Middle Ages and was depicted in different ways on many European coins, especially in the 13th century AD. The depiction of the crescent moon with the star on these coins has a new meaning that relates to Christian symbolism. This article presents the history of this symbol, its meaning in antiquity and in the Middle Ages and its possible connection with astronomical events. In particular we analyzed a Trieste’s medieval coin minted in the second half of the 13th century by the bishop of the city of Trieste Arlongus, on which the symbol of the crescent moon with a six-pointed star is clearly visible.
S pomočjo metod merjenja trajnostnega razvoja ekoloških sledi (ES) in okoljskega prostora (OP), ki smo jih empirično preizkusili na treh tipih geografskih območij mestne občine, smo ugotovili stopnjo ...doseženega ne-trajnostnega razvoja v treh vzorčnih geografskih območjih MO Kranj: v strnjenem mestnem jedru (ekološki primanjkljaj 5,44 gha/preb.), na suburbaniziranem območju (ekološki primanjkljaj 7,22 gha/preb.) in okoliškem podeželju (ekološki primanjkljaj 3,41 gha/preb.).

Sixty-year excavation (1953 to 2013) of Župna Cerkev Cemetery in Kranj unearthed almost 3000 graves. The monograph introduces 1048 graves found between 1972 and 2010. The excavations were initially ...led by Andrej Valič, the curator of the Gorenjski muzej (1972 and 73, 862 graves). Milan Sagadin from ZVKD Kranj continued the dig from 1984 to 2001 (163 graves), followed by Draško Josipovič (Megalan Skupina, d. o. o., 2003 to 2010), who excavated 23 more graves. An extensive chapter presents the artefacts of Župna Cerkev Cemetery with no data about their location.The varied documentation, which has changed over the years, is the basis for the publication of all available data on the graves and artefacts kept by the Gorenjski muzej in Kranj. The introduction, a study on the nature of the data, comments on possible inconsistencies between the various types of documentation. Primarily it deals with the question of reliability of individual grave good assemblages, which is the basis for all further analysis.The discussed group of graves originates mainly from the northern exterior of the church and from the interior of the present-day church, that is, from the place where graves intertwined with the remains of older church and non-church buildings. Their building development and changing usability will be impossible to explain without good knowledge of the cemetery.
