Wilhelma ...za antropologiju, znanost o ljudskom nasljeđivanju i
eugeniku u Berlinu, mjestu stvaranja većine znanstvenih teorija
nacističke eugenike i rasne higijene. Provodi rasistička antropološka
istraživanja u skladu sa službenom rasnom politikom NDH,
što ga 1944. godine dovodi na poziciju rukovoditelja Hrvatskog
državnoga antropoložkog zavoda u Zagrebu. Nakon rata, postaje
voditelj Antropološkog odsjeka Biološkog zavoda na Medicinskom
fakultetu Sveučilišta u Zagrebu te mijenja znanstveni
diskurs u proučavanje geneze među staroslavenskom i suvremenom
populacijom Jugoslavije kako bi opovrgnuo njemačke i
mađarske znanstvene teorije o naseljavanju Nijemaca i Avara na
teritoriju Jugoslavije.

Zgodovinskih romanov, ki bi obravnavali tematiko, postavljeno v čas antike, je v slovenski literaturi bolj malo. Zato pa je izid romana, uokvirjenega v to dobo, še kako dobrodošla novost, ki jo je ...potrebno primerno izpostaviti in ovrednotiti, ker širi vedenje in znanje o času rimskega imperija, še posebej, če se je avtor romanu posvetil po natančnem študiju zgodovinskih, arheoloških in filoloških virov, ki obravnavajo izbrani čas.
This research highlights a recent discovery, at Poetovio, among a huge number of standard imported Roman oil lamps, of an open-shape copper-alloy lamp to be used with tallow (type Loeschcke XXV). ...This form, together with its clay counterpart (type Loeschcke XI), is typical of the northern Roman limes provinces where its production and usage was almost exclusive. To understand the uniqueness of this find so far south, the authors have mapped all the known parallels made of different metals. They also present a short introduction to the very eclectic clay variant, which is marginal almost everywhere except for Trier, where it constitutes by far the most common type, quantitatively speaking, of Roman lamps found in situ.
We present the results of a dendrochronological study and radiocarbon dating of the wooden piles of the bridge over the Drava River in Ptuj. The piles, together with stone elements (a fragment of an ...imperial building inscription and parts of the architectural decoration) were retrieved from the riverbed in 1913 and are now in the Regional Museum Ptuj - Ormož. Using dendrochronology, radiocarbon dating of carefully selected annual rings in the wood and calibration with the wiggle-matching method, the date of the last (outermost) annual ring on the pile was determined to be 161 ± 27 cal AD (1σ) or 160 ± 32 cal AD (2σ). Since the pile contained no sapwood, the dating approximately agrees with the date of the building inscription on the stone slab, which attributes the commission for the reconstruction or construction of the bridge to Emperor Hadrian in the last years of his reign (117-138 AD). The dating of the wood has thus confirmed that the remains examined do indeed belong to a Roman bridge, probably built or renovated during the reconstruction of the road network in the area of the colony of Poetovio under Hadrian or one of his successors.

The paper focuses on issues concerned with the heritage of historical music manuscripts and prints, along with their use and dissemination in the wider European area, as well as the activities and ...musical mission of the Dominican and Minorite monasteries in Ptuj (Pettau, Petovio). Both monastic orders were once exceptionally important and maintained strong connections with European spiritual movements. They preserved works on music theory, liturgical books and some sheet music, which has enabled a more detailed insight into the musical culture of monastic communities and into the transcultural influences that resulted from the multi-directional migrations of friars among various European monasteries in the past.
This paper analyses and compares statutory provisions on tutelage for minor children in the Venetian towns of Koper, Izola, and Piran, and compares them with the regulation of the town of Ptuj, which ...was part of the Holy Roman Empire. It draws on selected notations from the notary books of Piran and, indirectly, documentary sources from Ptuj that reflect the practice corroborating and illustrating findings concerning statutory law. Moreover, from a comparative perspective, the paper aims to establish how Roman law influenced the legal regulation of the care of minor children in the two neighbouring territories that differed in terms of tradition and administrative affiliation.
