Članek napodlagi arhivskega gradiva, ustnihpričevanj in raziskav na terenu (LIDAR tehnologija) analizira že več stoletij mejno reko Sotlo, kjer je bila v obdobju nemške okupacije (1941-1945) ...vzpostavljena južna državna meja nemškega rajha ter okupacijska ločnica med NDH in nacistično Nemčijo. Meja na Sotli (tudi skrajni vzhodni mejni krak Spodnje Štajerske) je imela zaradi ključne strateške lege izjemen pomen. Nemška oblast jo jeposledično močno utrdila, zagradila z ograjo in bodečo rezilno žico terprepredla s smrtonosnimi minskimi polji. Postavljene fizičnepregrade so iznenadaprekinile človeške vezi in močno zarezale v vsakdanprebivalcev na obeh bregovih reke, zato je to predvsem zgodba o preživetju lokalnega človeka. 74 let po koncu druge svetovne vojne in odpravi ožičene Sotle se ob isti reki zopet nahaja žica, ki mimo zgodovinskega spomina razdvaja republiki Hrvaško in Slovenijo.
Clastic sediments in the vicinity of Virovitica (Northern Croatia) consistof gravels, sands, silt clays and marls. Gravels with discontinuoussheet-like geometry are typical for an alluvial fan ...system. The mostabundant sediment, quartz rich sand, originates from a sandy braidedriver system. Silt, clays, and marls were deposited in the flood plain.They contain fossil macroflora indicative of moderate climate conditions,including maidenhair leaves (Ginkgo), the presence of whichsuggests that these sediments were deposited before the Pleistoceneglaciation.
In 1982, the health spa Rogaška Slatina demolished its so-called wandelbahn or the covered promenade dating tothe mid-nineteenth century. These kinds of buildings are known across Europe under ...different names, such as wandelbahn,wandelhalle, kolonade, trinkhalle, elisenhalle, galerie, and at some places as dom zdrojowy and kursalon. Even though similar facilities were also constructed in other urban and economic centres, they have never developed as many diverse forms and designated functions as in European thermal spas, whose management boards made sure they generated an atmosphere of comfort, entertainment and leisure for their guests. European wandelbahns as well as buildings designed and used for a similar purpose enriched various regular and occasional activities, whereas during the war, some of them were converted into provisional military hospitals. At least seventy of over one hundred registered covered promenades have been preserved to present day.
Soil and plant samples collected from the area of an aluminum smelter near Slatina, Romania, were analyzed for fluoride concentrations. Fluoride levels in grasses and soils sampled close to the ...smelter were 162 and 89 mg/kg, respectively, Concentrations declined to 9 and 1.6 mg/kg in grasses and soils, respectively, sampled at about 4 km from the facility. The Al smelter was identified as the major source of fluoride pollution in the region. Contaminant levels in environmental samples may be high enough to be a cause of concern in terms of human and livestock health.
Contribuţia de faţă prezintă o locuinţă aparţinând culturii Vădastra, de la Slatina, cercetată între anii 1959 – 1961 de către D. Berciu şi M. Butoi. Pornind de la aceasta, am încercat să analizăm ...puţinele date disponibile referitoare la habitatul culturii Vădastra de la nord de Dunăre. Un repertoriu relativ recent pune în evidenţă 28 de descoperiri sigure de tip Vădastra şi alte şase incerte la nord de Dunăre. Majoritatea dintre ele au fost descoperite în timpul unor cercetări de teren, foarte puţine relevă informaţii cu privire la structurile de habitat.
In this contribution is presented a dwelling attributed to Vădastra culture excavated in 1959– 1961 at Slatina by D. Berciu and M. Butoi. Starting from it, we tried to analyse the little data available on the habitat of the Vădastra culture north of the Danube. A recent list of discoveries presents 28 localities with Vădastra type pottery and other six uncertain ones north of the Danube. Most of them were identified during field surveys, and only a few reveal information about the habitation structures.

"More problematic than the decision itself is the OHR's work plan for the remaining 12 months of its mandate. It is an incredibly unambitious plan that does not envision either the launching of new ...political initiatives or the finalization of the already started reforms of vital importance," warns Senad Slatina, a representative of the Centre for European Integration Strategies CEIS, a Sarajevo- based NGO overseeing the work of international institutions and the situation in B-H. "The concrete announcements about closing down the Office and its work plan for the next year, as well as the OHR's previous responses to some of the biggest political challenges that B-H has been facing since the signing of the Dayton peace accord, particularly in the past two months, indicate a dramatic reversal in the international community's attitude towards the crisis in B-H. It seems that obvious attempts to undermine B-H's sovereignty are being deliberately ignored and that, in the coming period, the leading principle of the international strategy in B-H will be the 'acceptance of the existing situation on the ground'," Slatina said.
Mjesni govori na otoku Čiovu pripadaju čakavskomu narječju, njegovu južnočakavskomu dijalektu. Prvo i posljednje sustavnije istraživanje govora otoka Čiova, kao i bliskih govora, izvršio je ...dijalektolog Mate Hraste prije više od 70-ak godina, dok su novija istraživanja čiovskih govora izostala. U članku se osvrće na mjesni govor Slatina na otoku Čiovu te se podastiru i opisuju njegove temeljne jezične posebnosti.
Grad Slatina nalazi se u Virovitičko-podravskoj županiji, na sjeveru u blizini granice s Republikom Mađarskom. Kroz Grad prolazi koridor državne ceste D-2 i regionalna pruga Varaždin-Osijek. U radu ...je analiziran cestovni prometni sustav Grada Slatine, a posebna je pažnja pridana analizi prometnih nesreća kroz georeferenciranu bazu podataka kroz četiri godine od 2010. do 2013 godine. Temeljem poznatih troškova prometnih nesreća uslijed smrtno stradalih i ozlijeđenih osoba te materijalne štete napravljena je i monetizacija troškova prometnih nezgoda za Grad Slatinu. Iz rezultata primijenjene metodologije vidljivi su enormi troškovi radi posljedica prometnih nezgoda. Upravo su sanacije opasnih mjesta u Gradu Slatini dobra prilika za iznimno rentabilne investicije. Nadalje, napravljena je lista prioriteta za sanaciju opasnih mjesta, a date su i preporuke o mjerama koje se trebaju provesti u cilju podizanja razine sigurnosti u Gradu.
