Anti-discrimination is an established right for persons under international, the EU and Polish law. However, there is a discussion of what beliefs mean, whether they relate only to religious issues ...or more broadly. Clarification of this issue is highly crucial because belief discrimination generates the risk of losing the right image by organizations and has serious legal consequences for its owners and other stakeholders. It was found that individuals have not a similar anti-discrimination right for reasons of beliefs as for a reason of religion. Research has included doctrine and law studies, and it allowed for a thorough analysis of the regulations regarding the prohibition of discrimination due to beliefs.
Criticism of the Church is one of the most urgent tasks to be undertaken as part of theological reflection. The point is to define its sources, legitimacy, and indicate the limitations to which it is ...subject. The source of the criticism of the Church is her very nature, which has an internal human and historical dimension that makes her inadequate to her ideal as revealed in Jesus Christ. The article focuses mainly on two dimensions of the criticism of the Church, that is, internal and external criticism. Within the framework of internal critique, which is the only one that is justified, there are two ways of making it. The first type of criticism that can be considered legitimate and extremely effective is that based on personal holiness, exemplified by St. Ignatius of Loyola. The second type of criticism is expressed in a strong admonishing and accusing word – an exceptional example of which is St. Catherine of Siena. External criticism loses its validity because it is most often associated with abandoning the Church and thus questions what it intends to achieve.
The article is a critical look at the Roman Catholic Church in Poland. It is an attempt at indicating that the historical conditions of Poland (and the role of the Roman Catholic Church in them) are ...likely to be strong reasons for the state and shape of the present Roman Catholic Church in Poland, including quality of faith and the character of Polish Catholicism. It is a historical, theological and sociological study, the methodology of which is based on a historical (cause and effect) critical analysis. In this analysis, scientific publications and press articles have been used. Different opinions on the present Church in Poland presented by academics, feature writers, Church hierarchs, priests and journalists have been taken into consideration.
The main purpose of this study is to analyse the approaches of Deobandīs to Sufism. Deobandī school was founded in 1866 under the presidency Muḥammad Qāsim al-Nānautawī and is active in the religious ...life of the Indian subcontinent. In the study, first of all, information about the establishment of Deoband, their struggle against the British, their contacts with the Ottoman Empire and then their understanding of mysticism are given. While investigating the relations of the Deobandīs with sufism, the main sources related to the Deobandīs were examined in terms of literature. They were subjected to a wide examination and their perspectives on sufism were tried to be determined. The results obtained can be briefly summarized as follows: Sunnī Deobandīs see Sufism as a part of the sharī'ah; It is necessary to cling to sufism in order to protect themselves from spiritual diseases, and the followers should follow the sunna and stay away from bid'ahs. In addition, they stated that prophecy is superior to walāyah, miracles are true, and that the unity of existence is not one of the principles of sufism. It has been determined that Deobandīs, who teach sufi classics as well as works written by their own masters in their education curriculum, have a say in many aspects of sufism.

Muslim life in Austria goes back centuries. The first contact with Muslims in Austria is dated to the 10th century by nomadic tribes. Islam has been recognised in Austria since 1912, as a result of ...the annexation of Bosnia-Herzegovina in 1908. Since then, there has been a recognised Islamic religious society, which has also been an official public institution since 1979. For a long time this gave Muslims in Austria a special position compared to other European countries. Due to the Gastarbeiter German for “guest worker” or foreign or migrant worker, and the influx of Muslim labour migrants, refugees and employees of international organisations, the number of Muslims in Austria grew and a representation for Muslims in Austria also emerged. Today, Muslims make up a not insignificant part of the Austrian population.

Islamic studies have sparked a lot of interests among different cultural backgrounds and no longer foreign to the world community. Among issues that have gained attention among scholars was ...spirituality from the Islamic standpoint. Therefore, this study attempts to explore the connection between Islamic spirituality (belief, rituals and repentance) and its influence on Islamic leadership effectiveness. The study contributes to the new knowledge pertaining to Islamic leadership in management by integrating the Islamic tradition with contemporary literature whereby Islamic spirituality constructs were developed from the Islamic tradition sources that correspond to leadership studies from contemporary literature. Using a purposive sampling of non-probability technique, the survey data used for this empirical research was drawn from Muslim employees working in uniform bodies in Sarawak, Malaysia. Most of the respondents hailed from support group scheme of service and there are three uniform bodies involved in this research namely the Malaysia Royal Customs Department, Malaysia Royal Police and Malaysia Royal Navy. Employing multiple regression analysis and using SPSS and SmartPLS software, the study tests several hypotheses that the components of Islamic spirituality were exerted to have statistically mixed influences on Islamic leadership effectiveness. The study found four out of seven hypotheses were indeed supported. The findings did provide a better understanding of the roles of Islamic spirituality on Islamic leadership effectiveness amongst three uniform bodies in Malaysia.
This article deals with the concept of tradition and the interpretation of the Vedic past in Russian intentional communities. The movement is based on the book series The Ringing Cedars of Russia ...(Zveniaschie kedry Rossii) by Vladimir Megre published in the 1990s. The main heroine of these books is Anastasia, who shares with the author her knowledge of the ancient ancestors. Some readers take her advice and build a new kind of intentional community – 'kin domain’ settlements (rodovyye pomestiya). The Anastasians tend to restore lost traditions, which are usually associated with Russia’s pre-Christian past. Traditional culture is understood as a conservative and utopian lifestyle that existed in the Vedic Age during the time of the Vedrus people. The commodification of local culture and tradition is one of the resources that ecovillagers try to use. The ‘traditional’ and ‘organic’ labels increase the price of many of their goods and services. One of the most popular products made by intentional communities is Ivan-chay (‘Ivan tea’), declared an indigenous and authentic beverage of the Russian people.
Stefan Wyszyński’s social thought can be defined as an integral-humanistic concept of sociopolitical life. This study, based on the analysis of source texts and studies using the historical and ...analytical method, examines the specificity of collectivism and individualism as two radically different attitudes in opposition to the personalistic and integral-humanistic conception of the human person presented by Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński, the Primate of Poland. The cardinal’s sociopolitical thoughts will be explored, reconstructed and reinterpreted with the employment of the inductive-deductive method. The interpretation of source materials will unravel the role and meaning of the personalistic view in the context of “incomplete” ideological concepts shaping the present reality of social and political life. Therefore, an essential goal of this study is to present the most critical components of the teaching and pastoral ministry of the Primate of the Millennium concerning collectivism and individualism. The author of the article raises a question whether the integral-humanistic concept of the human person and his involvement in the world as presented by Wyszyński can be applied to the specific realities of modern-day social life. The answer is significant, especially in the context of the contemporary reality of the Church, civil society, nation, and state.
