Scientific and technological vocabulary, especially computer terminology, is a particularly interesting field in which to analyze/study the most recent trends in the development of vocabulary. The ...present article focuses on the Persian and Hindi translations of the Kdelibs4 software package. The author attempts to address a number of questions on the basis of the analyzed material, i.e., what are the origin and the proportion of loanwords within the analyzed vocabulary? Are the languages historically important as vocabulary donors (Arabic in the case of Persian and Persian in the case of Hindi) still prominent in this new sphere of vocabulary? What are the widespread syntactic and word-formational patterns among the discussed forms? The vocabulary in question is also juxtaposed with the official language policy in India and Iran, thus exhibiting various levels of deviations in both cases. The lexical items selected on the basis of objective criteria have been compared with the official vocabulary lists issued by the responsible/authoritative/ relevant governmental bodies. Additionally, in the case of Persian, an extensive Internet search has been performed to check their popularity among the users.

However, the intensity of this process may vary in different periods of language development and in various branch terminological systems. The peculiarity of the formation of computer terminology is the rapid development of science itself, in which scientists often use “good old” terms from other sciences for naming of an array of new concepts. The aim of this article is to investigate comprehensively the phenomenon of re-terminologisation in the Ukrainian computer terminological system, which implies solving the following tasks: 1) to clarify the nature of the phenomenon of re-terminologisation from the point of view of the theory of term; 2) to determine the range of branch terminological donor systems; 3) to identify the characteristic semantic changes in the re-terminologised units; 4) to determine the derivational possibilities of re-terminologisms in their new terminological system. The relevance of the research is due to the need for a holistic study of this relatively new branch term system, which requires standardization and codification. Re-terminologisation is a process of semantic evolution of a term when it is moved from one field of knowledge to another or when the term’s scope changes. Such a process is one of the term-making tech- -making techniques, it is also called conversion, transterminalisation, and terminological interference. So, inter-branch re-terminologisation is the process of naming a new concept, when the existing terminological units of both technical and humanitarian terminology, closely related to the conceptual sphere, are productively used. Conclusion. The phenomenon of re-terminologisation is quite common in Ukrainian computer terminology. The re-terminologised units usually retain the general semes, indicat ng thus the processes of su- the processes of supra-branch and general linguistic polysemy rather than homonymy. Computer terminology absorbs terminological units of a significant number of branch terminological systems, correcting their semantics. In the recipient terminological system, re-terminologisms acquire new word-building capabilities, particularly in the syntactic way of word-formation. Within the branch terminology, in our case the computer one, re-terminologised terms do not violate its internal systemic nature. With the development of science and due to the lack of new, unique terms, the processes of reterminologisation will become more and more widespread, and this phenomenon will remain the object of terminologists’ study.

The paper analyses the lexicographic treatment of computer terms in the New Dictionary of Foreign Words by Bratoljub Klaic and Skolska knjiga. The analysis focuses on the structure of the dictionary ...entry of computer terms which have the label INFORM . Certain elements of the dictionary entry are analysed (entry-word, morphology and accentuation, definition, stylistic labels). Lexicographic treatment of computer terms is compared to that in contemporary bilingual English-Croatian dictionaries of computer terminology (Kis, Panian) as well as with the entries of computer terms in general Croatian desk dictionaries (HER, Skolski rjecnik hrvatskoga jezika). The authors of this paper collected ...a corpus of Croatian e-words and analyzed them from different viewpoints: orthographic, lexicographic, terminological and semantic. They attempted to formulate orthographic rules describing the way in which the words with this element should be written, and suggest that some of these words be included in future Croatian general and terminological dictionaries. This paper describes a study in which a computer terminology translation activity was implemented in a CS1 class using a specially designed web application. Students translated an English technical ...term into their native language and wrote an accompanying definition of the term. These completed translations were then reviewed anonymously by their peers. Finally, students voted on the most highly rated translations to compose a glossary of translations.
These activities were developed to prompt students to enhance their understanding of English computing terms, thereby aiding their academic pursuits. The activity, along with the web based application, was tested in a CS1 class comprising 90 non-native English speaking students. Additionally, a significant number of students voluntarily participated in a computer terminology test that had been administered to previous cohorts within the same class. Among the students who engaged in the translation activity, the average performance on this test was 8% higher.
At the conclusion of the class, a survey was conducted to capture students' perceptions of the activity. Out of the total students, 67 completed the survey. The feedback received indicated that the majority of students recognized the advantageous impact of the translation activity on their programming learning. A considerable number of students expressed a keen interest in participating in another translation activity during their upcoming courses.

Croatian equivalents of English terms are given & they are analyzed with the help of terminological ...principles. Croatian equivalents have been acquired on the Internet but the analysis includes also suggestions of the 4th year students of Faculty of Electrotechnics & Computer Science.
