Additive technologies provide many opportunities for improving activities in various fields, but the specifics of exploring their work and application in the educational process of students enrolled ...in design education programmes have been understudied. The purpose of this study is to develop methods of implementing additive technologies in the educational process of training future graphic designers and to test their effectiveness. To achieve this purpose, the research methodology used was a mixed-methods study. The study involved students and teachers of Khortytsia National Academy. Through video conferencing and discussions between teachers, the implementation of the “Additive Technologies” course in the educational process (study of 3D printing and modelling) and ways to use additive technologies in other subjects were developed and agreed upon. It was established that before the experiment, students had virtually no experience in learning or working with additive technologies, which was the foundation for the course curriculum. The students’ assessment of the quality of learning on the scale “The instructional materials motivation survey” before and after the experiment was examined. A questionnaire has been developed to explore students' opinions on the effectiveness of using additive technologies in the work of a graphic designer, and their impressions of the methods of introducing additive technologies into the educational process. The survey found that the majority of students highly appreciated the impact of using additive technologies in the work of a graphic designer and believe that their study is necessary for effective learning and work in the future. In addition, students highly appreciated the teachers’ ability to use additive technologies in the learning process. The methods of introducing additive technologies proposed in the study can be used in the training of higher education students in the field of 02 – Art, considering the specifics of the curriculum. In addition, there are prospects for using additive technologies to perform design work, internships using additive technologies, and defending qualification projects with real-time object manufacturing.
We tested the hypothesis that exposure to the natural environment is associated with improved academic performance. Specifically, we examined the association between individual-level standardized ...math and reading test scores and exposure to the natural environment using data from Portland Public Schools (17,918 students attending 83 schools for the math model and 19,459 students attending 90 schools for the reading model). We found that a 1-SD increase in tree cover within 200 m of a child’s home was associated with moving from the 50th percentile to the 51st percentile on math tests. A 1-SD increase in tree cover within 100 m of a child’s school was associated with moving from the 50th percentile to the 56th percentile on reading tests. Finally, a 1-SD increase in road density within 100 m of a child’s home was associated with moving from the 50th percentile to the 47th percentile on reading tests.
The interrelated fields of computational creativity and design computing, sometimes also referred to as design science, have been gaining momentum over the past two or three decades. Many frequent ...international conference series, as well as more sporadic stand-alone academic events, have emerged to prove this. As maturing fields, it is time to take stock of what has come before and try to come up with a cohesive description of the theoretical foundations and practical advances that have been made. This paper presents such a description in the hope that it helps to communicate what the fields are about to people that are not directly involved in them, hopefully drawing some of them in.
Design is a social phenomenon and researchers suggest that social interaction, negotiations and communication between designers are essential to initiate creativity. Within the design studio ...environment, a number of factors affect the healthy social interaction and design negotiations, such as the teaching style of tutors and the culture that governs a design studio’s environment. This may in turn affect the utilization of the outcome of negotiations in the design project. Design studio students from the third to fifth years at the College of Architecture, University of Dammam (UD), the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), were surveyed to find out how far the design studio’s culture and communication would impact the production of innovative design projects. The results show that frequent communication and the establishment’s shared grounds are essential to develop knowledge and positively influence the design outcome. On the other hand, the research found that negative qualities on a personal level and on that of a design studio environment would hinder a student’s creativity. However, to develop students’ design/innovative abilities, the researcher recommends that certain measures should be considered. These would include transforming the design studio into an interactive and friendly learning environment, adjusting the teaching methodology, and developing interactive communication abilities of students and tutors.
The theoretical models proposed by STIC (Information and Communication Sciences) have been revised to date by the protagonists of Design Studies. They suggest among others to check their validity and viability as communication models for the systems, services, goods and situations, which are getting more and more complex. It is in this vein that we register our project. The idea is to build an interpretative model constituting a new theoretical framework. The main objective is to seize the communicative potential of the products at the crossroads of potential actions, habits and beliefs embodied in them. Our theoretical framework and our analytical tool will revolve around the peirce semiotic approach and the systemic theory (second systemic as called by Morin), which will also develop an ecological perception of the object as a coherent and interactive system with its environment.

During the process of the transformation and innovation of traditional culture and local characteristics, we can make old things fashionable through creative design. Therefore, understanding the ...design strategy for the global market and how to design local culture into innovative products are important research issues. The main purpose of this study is to investigate the effectiveness evaluation index and design strategy on cultural design of consumer cognition or preference. This study was implemented in two phases. First, we undertook a preliminary survey by means of literature review and opinions from a group of experts, and selected representative product samples and evaluation indices from the three categories: traditional culture, local characteristics and innovative fashion. In the second phase, we analyzed the results of the questionnaire survey and found that "Design Performance" is the most important factor for evaluating cultural design products. Furthermore, it was found that participants could not identify with products that overemphasized "cultural characteristic."
Today, contemporary design solutions require creative thinking because the original design is based on innovation and creative solutions to solve certain problems such as preservation of old ...traditions, cultural heritage for future generations. Design as an area of science and practical activities functions by defining specific design peculiarities. Design products in scientific literature are described as closely directly related to the process, distributed in the context of the process, ones that impact the context and alter the process further. A creative product is created when acting together with other artists and is planned for the consumer, where the globalisation of the 21st century is one of the threats to national cultures. In the meantime, the person first understands the image and terms created by the culture around him, so artists, creators of creative products, play an important role here. Cooperation is a new and inspiring means of this activity that provides power to initiate, implement and evaluate solutions that is based on not only shared responsibilities, but also partnership that strengthens communication, increases trust, empathy between organisations and satisfaction in a generally received result. Sientific problem may be raised: What are the specificities of design product development and commercialization? In realizing this problem the theoretical concept and peculiarities of design product were discussed; the stages and principles of design product development and its introduction to the market were analysed; a theoretical model of design product development was created and introduction to the market; the theoretical model was analyzed by the implementation of the project “Baltic Patterns in Ceramics: From the Past to the Future”. The methods of scientific literature systematic analysis, comparison and abstraction were employed in the research.
