Today the digitalization of justice is one of the defining development trends in most world legal order. The possibilities of filing lawsuits and petitions in electronic form, electronic mailboxes of ...lawyers, videoconferencing and online meetings have already firmly become the attributes of modern civil proceedings. This paper is devoted to further prospects for the digitalization of justice, namely, the analysis of the possibilities for the development and use of predictive justice. The paper presents the approach stating that this direction is one of the most suitable for the development of the civil process. Particular emphasis is placed on digitalization and pandemics as factors stimulating the development of predictive justice. It is emphasized that the scientific literature mainly discusses the ethical and philosophical aspects of using the possibilities of predictive justice in judicial proceedings. The authors justify the limits of the use of predictive justice based on the current concept of judicial power.
The article is devoted to a crucial theoretical issue of the impact transformation under the influence of digital technologies. It is necessary to distinguish the process of law evolution in general ...and legal impact in particular, which presupposes a gradual, "dosed" change in the regulatory legal framework of the state in the direction of its greater adaptation to changing socio-economic and political realities from a more radical version of changes - from the transformation of legal impact under the influence of digital technologies and new qualities acquired by the information society. Legal impact in the digital environment demonstrates not only a new type of subjects, previously unknown to the classical paradigm of law, but also a special type of legal ties. From a legal point of view, the relationship pattern is of contractual nature on the Internet, reflecting the conventional process of interaction of quasi-subjects of law, which corresponds to the nature of almost any network interaction. However, the specificity is that norms are formed; and they contain self-regulation rules and have a legal impact on the subjects of network communication. The transformation of legal impact in the above sense presupposes qualitative changes in legal impact that are local in time, but reactive (accelerated) in intensity, accompanied by the complication of the legal impact organization, the emergence of new components under the influence of technological factors and, accordingly, new functions. The objective is to demonstrate the vector of changes in the contemporary theory of legal impact and acquire a new look for it. We use the data and material of modern characteristics of society to solve the problem. The transformation of legal impact occurs under the influence of changes in the legal and social systems having occurred as a result of the reconfiguration of social objects, which are traditional areas of legal impact, and owing to the forced transformation of legal means used by the state. The basic features of such transformation are revealed by the example of a theoretical comprehension of the “genomic information” concept and the attitude of the legislator to it. The result of the study is the conclusion that the transformation of legal impact is a sequential system of organizational, legal, mental shifts (innovations), which provide for the creation of new components of legal impact that do not coincide with their previous structures with a supplementary (or new) set of functions.
Rezultatele indică faptul că digitalizarea sistemului informaţional contabil are un impact semnificativ asupra calităţii informaţiei contabile.
The idea of “going on a digital detox” arrives as a response to a proliferation of digital technology and a concern that this addictive form of sociality erodes meaningful or authentic connection. ...This paper explores concerns about our relationship with digital technology through a short ethnography of Camp Grounded: a Californian digital detox retreat and summer camp for adults. At Camp Grounded, digital detoxers conceptualise consumption of technology using a food parallel. While the brief connection or “snack” of a text message might temporarily satisfy, detoxers feel that waiting for a more nutritious face-to-face encounter will ultimately be more emotionally nourishing. This paper interrogates the food/technology metaphor to unpack its analytical limitations and the questions it prompts about the future of our relationship with digital technology.
Introduction
In light of growing concerns about an increasingly digital adolescence, the academic field investigating how digital technologies affect adolescents’ psychological well-being is growing ...rapidly. In the last years, much research has amassed, and this has been summarised in over 80 systematic reviews and meta-analyses.
Materials and Methods
Systematic reviews, meta-analyses and key studies are reviewed to provide insights into the state of current research linking digital technology and social media use to well-being; possible future directions and improvements are discussed.
Results
When examining the reviews, it becomes evident that the research field is dominated by cross-sectional work that is generally of a low quality standard. While research has highlighted the importance of differentiating between different types of digital technology use many studies do not consider such necessary nuances. These limitations aside, the association between digital technology use, or social media use in particular, and psychological well-being is—on average—negative but very small. Furthermore, the direction of the link between digital technology use and well-being is still unclear: effects have been found to exist in both directions and there has been little work done to rule out potential confounders.
Conclusions
Reviewing the last decade of reviews in the area, it is evident that the research field needs to refocus on improving transparency, interpreting effect sizes and changing measurement. It also needs to show a greater appreciation for the individual differences that will inherently shape each adolescent’s reaction to digital technologies.
Widespread concerns about new technologies—whether they be novels, radios, or smartphones—are repeatedly found throughout history. Although tales of past panics are often met with amusement today, ...current concerns routinely engender large research investments and policy debate. What we learn from studying past technological panics, however, is that these investments are often inefficient and ineffective. What causes technological panics to repeatedly reincarnate? And why does research routinely fail to address them? To answer such questions, I examined the network of political, population, and academic factors driving the Sisyphean cycle of technology panics. In this cycle, psychologists are encouraged to spend time investigating new technologies, and how they affect children and young people, to calm a worried population. Their endeavor, however, is rendered ineffective because of the lack of a theoretical baseline; researchers cannot build on what has been learned researching past technologies of concern. Thus, academic study seemingly restarts for each new technology of interest, which slows down the policy interventions necessary to ensure technologies are benefiting society. In this article, I highlight how the Sisyphean cycle of technology panics stymies psychology’s positive role in steering technological change and the pervasive need for improved research and policy approaches to new technologies.
