Chamomile (
Matricaria chamomilla
L.) is a widespread herb since it grows on different types of soil making it an interesting culture for intensive production. Increasing demand for medical herbs as ...well as chamomile launches entrepreneurial ideas that need to be checked through market analysis, technical equipment analysis, agrotechnics analysis and economic analysis for efficiency of the business venture. The aim of the paper is to identify the meaning of entrepreneurship in chamomile production, analyse input and output prices, and establish technological procedures for expected production results and economic efficiency. In this paper, analytical procedures are applied for determining the economic efficiency of chamomile production as an entrepreneurial opportunity. The first part of the paper contains the recommendation of agrotechnics that is necessary to gain the expected yields in chamomile production. It was found that chamomile is drought tolerant, grows on very poor soils, enriches the soil with humus, improves soil structure, and does not require use of plant protection products or special previous crop. The second part of the paper consists of analytical methods used for checking entrepreneurial idea in order for the chamomile production to really become an entrepreneurial opportunity. The results of the analysis confirm economic (1.31) and profitable (23.72%) production. Positive financial results can be achieved with relatively low investment, and chamomile production has a total assets profitability of 31.09%. By planning and analysing, entrepreneurs can acquire a complete information database for achieving the economic efficiency of the business venture
Kamilica (
Matricaria chamomilla
Rezultati analiza potvrđuju ekonomičnu (1,31) i rentabilnu (23,72%) proizvodnju.
The main aim of the paper is to analyse the impact of household wealth (real estate, financial and other assets), income, age, education and gender on the saving for retirement behaviour of ...Lithuanian households. The wealth of households is one of the possible guarantees to ensure welfare in old age or another “force majeure” situation. Both non-financial and financial assets can be the saving instruments or factors influencing saving behaviour. The paper presents how much and what kind of assets Lithuanian households have accumulated and what level of income and financial ability to save they have. The research is based on the data from the Household Finance and Consumption Survey (HFCS). Data analysis reveals income and education is the most influential factors of retirement saving behaviour, households’ wealth has a positive and negative impact on retirement saving behaviour.
1939. gada maijā Latvijā tika izveidota jauna birokrātiska institūcija – Darba Centrāle. Rakstā izvērtēti tās dibināšanas cēloņi, darbības mērķi un rezultāti. Secināts, ka Darba Centrāle aizsāka ...regulēt un kontrolēt darbaspēka kustību, taču tās ierobežotās pilnvaras neļāva atrisināt nevienu jautājumu, kas bija saistīts ar galveno problēmu – darbaspēka trūkumu laukos. Jau 1939. gada nogalē kļuva redzams, ka būs nepieciešams ieviest radikālu saimniecisku dienestu, kas militarizēs darbaspēka kustību valstī.

Most studies of the political economy of money focus on the laws protecting central banks from government interference; this book turns to the overlooked people who actually make monetary policy ...decisions. Using formal theory and statistical evidence from dozens of central banks across the developed and developing worlds, this book shows that monetary policy agents are not all the same. Molded by specific professional and sectoral backgrounds and driven by career concerns, central bankers with different career trajectories choose predictably different monetary policies. These differences undermine the widespread belief that central bank independence is a neutral solution for macroeconomic management. Instead, through careful selection and retention of central bankers, partisan governments can and do influence monetary policy - preserving a political trade-off between inflation and real economic performance even in an age of legally independent central banks.
This book was commissioned by the Department of Ethics, Equity, Trade and Human Rights as part of the work undertaken by the Priority Public Health Conditions Knowledge Network of the Commission on ...Social Determinants of Health, in collaboration with 16 of the major public health programs of WHO: alcohol-related disorders, cardiovascular diseases, child health, diabetes, food safety, HIV/AIDS, maternal health, malaria, mental health, neglected tropical diseases, nutrition, oral health, sexual and reproductive health, tobacco and health, tuberculosis, and violence and injuries. In addition to this, through collaboration with the Special Programme of Research, Development and Research Training in Human Reproduction, the Special Programme for Research and Training in Tropical Diseases, and the Alliance for Health Policy and Systems Research, 13 case studies were commissioned to examine the implementation challenges in addressing social determinants of health in low-and middle-income settings. The Priority Public Health Conditions Knowledge Network has analyzed the impact of social determinants on specific health conditions, identified possible entry-points, and explored possible interventions to improve health equity by addressing social determinants of health.
Climate Crisis Economics draws on economics, political economy, scientific literature, and data to gauge the extent to which our various communities – political, economic, business – are making the ...essential leap to a new narrative and policy approach that will accelerate us towards the necessary transition to a decarbonized economy and sustainable future. The book draws out policies and practices with both national and local examples, which will demonstrate various complementary approaches that are empowering states and people as they seek to pursue the carbon neutral goal. The author delineates a climate crisis economics approach that is fit for purpose and which can help achieve necessary climate change goals in the decades ahead. Ensuring economic and ecological sustainability is neither easy nor cost-free; there is no single solution to the climate crisis. All aspects of our economies, policies, business, and personal practices must come into alignment in order to succeed. Frustratingly, we know what is needed and we have many of the technologies and systems to make the leap to a carbon neutral economy, yet we still fail to act with alacrity. Leaders, communities, and businesses must shift their narratives in how they talk about and think about the climate crisis. In doing so, in making the narrative leap to a new understanding about what is possible and necessary, we can stop endangering our common future and single, fragile, global habitat, and instead set the stage for Green Globalisation 2.0 and a new, sustainable industrial revolution.Climate Crisis Economics will appeal to academics, students, investors, and professionals from varying disciplines including politics, international political economy, and international economics. Written in an accessible voice, it draws on work in fields outside of and in addition to politics and economics to make a case for climate crisis economics as an approach to addressing the climate change challenge ahead.
Material culture in Eastern Europe under state socialism is remembered as uniformly gray, shabby, and monotonous-the worst of postwar modernist architecture and design. Politics in Color and Concrete ...revisits this history by exploring domestic space in Hungary from the 1950s through the 1990s and reconstructs the multi-textured and politicized aesthetics of daily life through the objects, spaces, and colors that made up this lived environment. Krisztina Féherváry shows that contemporary standards of living and ideas about normalcy have roots in late socialist consumer culture and are not merely products of postsocialist transitions or neoliberalism. This engaging study decenters conventional perspectives on consumer capitalism, home ownership, and citizenship in the new Europe.
