El estudio de la resiliencia como capacidad para superar situaciones de adversidad ha tomado protagonismo en la última década, especialmente en la rama de la psicología deportiva. El objetivo de esta ...investigación consiste en estudiar sus niveles en diversas modalidades deportivas, con el fin de establecer patrones en función del deporte practicado. En este sentido, este estudio de carácter descriptivo y transversal contó con una muestra constituida por 39 deportistas de diversas modalidades (fútbol, balonmano y esquí), permitiendo el estudio de factores asociados a la resiliencia, utilizándose como instrumento el cuestionario CD-RISC de Connor-Davidson (2003). Los resultados concretaron que los esquiadores poseían puntuaciones de resiliencia más elevadas, siendo los futbolistas aquellos que presentaban una menor puntuación. Asimismo, tanto los jugadores de balonmano como los esquiadores obtuvieron la mayor valoración en el ítem R7, asociándose los futbolistas al R24 (ambos referidos a la tenacidad y autosuficiencia); el ítem R3, referido a creencias religiosas, concretó la menor porcentualidad. Como conclusión, se demuestra la variabilidad de la resiliencia y sus dimensiones en función del deporte practicado, mostrándose los factores resilientes más débiles y que deberían ser desarrollados para mejorar el rendimiento deportivo en situaciones adversas.
The aim of this study was to determine influence of upper limbs on the ball throwing velocity. A total of 10 professional handball players (25.74+ or -4.84 years) participated in this study. All of ...them were playing in the top Montenegrin professional handball league. The results obtained in this study shows that upper limbs have high influence on ball throwing velocity. This study provides normative data and performance standards for professional handball. Coaches can use this information to determine the type of anthropometric characteristics that are needed for handball. Anthropometric parameters such as arm length, wrist diameter, hand length and arm span are the most relevant aspects related to ball throwing speed, given that these parameters cannot be changed through training, they should be taken into account when discovering talents. El objetivo de este estudio es describir el perfil demográfico, la formación y el desempeño profesional de los entrenadores de balonmano que actúan en Brasil. Se trata de uno estudio transversal, con ...diseño descriptivo y cuantitativo, con información de 226 entrenadores. La selección de estos participantes fue no aleatoria por conveniencia, en una red para ampliar contactos, con herramientas de investigación basadas en el método bola de nieve virtual. La información se obtuvo a través de cuestionario virtual autocompletado. Los datos fueron tabulados y analizados usando estadística descriptiva. Participaron entrenadores de todos los estados del país y del Distrito Federal. La edad media fue 40,8 años, siendo la mayoría hombres (81%). Casi la totalidad de los participantes tiene titulación en Educación Física o Deportes (89,8%). El principal lugar de actuación es la escuela, la mayoría trabaja en un solo lugar como entrenador y no tiene la modalidad como principal fuente de remuneración (63,3%). Aún así, casi la mitad de los participantes informaron actuar solos en su equipo, lo que denota escasez de personal técnico en la mayoría de los equipos. Los resultados de esta investigación contribuyen a una mejor comprensión del escenario de los entrenadores en Brasil, lo que permite destacar las necesidades y discrepancias, para que los datos atraigan la atención de los órganos competentes, con el objetivo principal de llevar a cabo acciones encaminadas a mejorar el desempeño de este campo, posibilitando ampliar el espacio de la mujer, valorizar financieramente a los profesionales y mejorar las condiciones estructurales.
La clasificación continua de los deportistas en función de la fecha de nacimiento genera, en el mundo del deporte, desigualdades respecto al número de oportunidades de aprendizaje. Esta investigación ...pretende conocer cómo influye el efecto de la edad relativa en las principales ligas del balonmano español. El objetivo de este estudio fue conocer la influencia de este efecto y determinar en qué medida el sexo y la nacionalidad de los jugadores puede afectar a su presencia. Para realizar este análisis, se recogieron las fechas de nacimiento, el sexo y la nacionalidad de los 1141 jugadores y jugadoras de las dos principales ligas españolas durante los años comprendidos entre 2018 y 2021. Tras clasificarlos por trimestre de nacimiento (n Tri1 = 309 27,1%, n Tri2 = 319 28,0%, n Tri3 = 266 23,3%, n Tri4 = 247 21,6%) y asumiendo una distribución equitativa, se calcularon los estadísticos descriptivos y las frecuencias. Se realizó la prueba chi-cuadrado comprobando si la fecha de nacimiento suponía o no una ventaja a la hora de pertenecer a un equipo. Los resultados mostraron que no existen diferencias significativas en ninguna de las dos ligas (p = 0,078 en la liga masculina y p = 0,129 en la liga femenina). De esta manera, se demostró como el efecto de la edad relativa afecta de igual manera independientemente del sexo. En cambio, en cuanto a la nacionalidad, los resultados mostraron como las diferencias eran más notables en el caso de los jugadores extranjeros, llegando a encontrar diferencias significativas (p = 0,048). Por ello, pese a no existir diferencias significativas en ninguna de las ligas, las diferencias observadas en la muestra total, así como en algunos de los subgrupos analizados, anima a continuar investigando y concienciando sobre este efecto.

Abstract. The classification of athletes based on date of birth generates, in the world of sport, inequalities regarding the number of learning opportunities. This research aims to know how the effect of relative age influences the main Spanish handball leagues. The objective of this study was to know the influence of this effect and determine to what extent the sex and nationality of the players can affect it. To carry out this analysis, the dates of birth, sex and nationality of the 1,141 male and female players from the two main Spanish leagues for the years 2018 and 2021 were analyzed. After classifying them by quarter of birth (n Tri1 = 309 27, 1%, n Tri2 = 319 28.0%, n Tri3 = 266 23.3%, n Tri4 = 247 21.6%) and assuming an equitable distribution, descriptive statistics and frequencies were calculated. The chi-square X² test was carried out checking whether or not the date of birth was an advantage when belonging to a team. The results showed no significant differences in either league (p = 0.078 in the men's league and p = 0.129 in the women's league). In this way, it was demonstrated how the effect of relative age affects the same way regardless of sex. On the other hand, regarding nationality, the results showed how the differences were more notable in the case of foreign players, reaching significant differences (p = 0.048). Therefore, despite not finding significant differences in any of the leagues, the differences observed in the total sample, as well as in some of the subgroups analyzed, promote more research and awareness about this effect.

A forma como o treinador intervém no treino é de extrema importancia para o desenvolvimento dos jogadores e da equipa. Desta forma, pretendemos analisar a intervençao de tres treinadores de jovens de ...andebol, no processo de treino. Os treinadores sao detentores de título profesional de treinador grau I (n= 2) e grau II (n= 1), outorgados pelo Instituto Portugués do Desporto e Juventude, foram praticantes de andebol, dois possuem licenciatura em Educaçao Física e foram observados em tres treinos. O instrumento observacional utlizado é o Sistema de Análise da Intervençao Pedagógica sobre o Conteúdo do Treinador de Andebol. Para a codificaçâo dos comportamentos de instruçao utilizou-se o programa informático LINCE®. Para a análise estatística descritiva dos dados utilizou-se o IBM SPSS Statistics® e o programa informático THEME 6® para a deteçao de T-patterns. Os treinadores observados emitem preferencialmente informaçao de conteúdo técnico, muita informaçao nao específica, feedback prescritivo, avaliativo positivo e de encorajamento. A forma de instruçao preferenciái é auditiva e direcionada ao individuo. Em conclusao, a observaçao dos treinadores levanta algumas questöes sobre a eficácia das estratégias adotadas no processo de treino, facto que deve ser objeto de prática reflexiva.
The aim of our research was to determine the explosive strength of the legs i.e., the height of the jump of the top-ranked female handball players during the season. 15 female players underwent the ...following tests for estimating the explosive strength of the legs: SJ, CMJ, CMJ free arm, CMJ right leg and CMJ left leg. The Student’s t-test was applied for establishing the changes between the measuring sessions during the season. The results obtained show that there were statistically significant changes and better results at the end of the season in the following parameters: CMJ right leg =.002 and CMJ left leg = .018, whereas no significant changes occurred in all the other two-leg jumps. Taking into consideration the fact that in performing different throws and goal shooting the most prominent movements in handball are done on one leg, the results were expected. It is recommended that throughout the season the training process should include additional exercises for improving and maintaining the ability of the handball players to jump (plyometric, proprioceptive and the combination of the two with the common strength improving exercises), since their positive effects have been proven by quite a few studies.
This paper aims to define differences in Simple Visual Reaction Time (SVRT) and Reaction Time Variation (RTV), related to age and player position in Serbian female cadet and junior national handball ...team members. The method used in this research was laboratory testing. All data sampling was performed using specially designed testing software that recorded visual reaction time with 1 ms precision. SVRT was expressed in ms, and RTV was expressed as a coefficient of variation percentage value. The overall sample consisted of 34 players - 19 cadets and 15 juniors. Mean SVRT of 194.28±16.55 and 184.73±16.68 ms was determined in the subsamples of cadet and junior players, respectively. It was found that cadets have a mean RTV of 4.74±2.41% while juniors have a mean RTV of 7.90±3.70%. Results of the Factorial ANOVA have shown that there are no general, statistically significant, differences in SVRT in relation to age, player position, and interaction of these factors (p>0.05). Statistically significant difference in RTV on a general level was found in relation to age (F=9.752, p=0.005), while differences in relation to player position or combination of these factors were not statistically significant (p>0.05). Post hoc tests have shown partial differences in relation to player position. The method of mathematical modelling was used to define the statistical model of performance in relation to the given variables. The final form of the model explained 100% of the measured variance (AdjR2 = 1.000), which implies its absolute predictive potential considering the characteristics of the sample.
The purpose of the present study was to compare block periodization (BP) and daily undulating periodization (DUP) in eliciting changes in strength, jumping performance and throwing velocity in young ...male handball players. Fifteen players, of the same competitive level, were assigned to one of the periodization groups (DUP=9; BP=6). Pre- and post-tests included a one repetition maximum (1 RM) back squat, counter movement jump (CMJ), triple jump with the left and right leg, 20 m speed test, standing medicine ball throw, 7 m standing throw, and 9 m jumping throw. Strength training was performed twice a week throughout an 8-week period. The BP group performed training phases in the following order: hypertrophy, power strength and explosive strength; DUP alternated every week two sessions with a different focus. Total volume and intensity during the 8-week period were equal in both training groups. Despite both groups significantly improved 1 RM squat (33.3%, effect size ES=1.48 for DUP and 17.4%, ES=1.40 for BP) and triple jump (4-6.3%, ES=0.32- 0.51 for DUP and 9.7-12.7%, ES=1.40 for BP) performance, greater gains (ES=0.96) were detected in DUP for the 9 m throwing velocity. No significant changes were found in either group for the 20 m sprint and CMJ. It can be concluded that both periodization programs elicited significant improvements in maximal strength and jumping performance in young male handball players, while DUP was more effective than BP on throwing velocity.

The present manuscript aims to review the movie Forever the moment, portraying the trajectory of the South Korean women's handball team in the Olympic Games of Athens-2004. At the conclusion, ...contrary to the usual feeling of frustration caused by the achievement of the silver medal in team sports, it was evidenced that the defeat, when associated to maximum effort and performance, also brings glory. Em traduçâo literal, "Para sempre o momento" (título da versāo norte-americana) e "O melhor momento de nossas vidas" (título original), trata-se de um filme do genero drama, baseado em eventos reais no entorno da final da competiçâo de handebol feminino nos Jogos Olímpicos de Atenas, em 2004, retratado sob a ótica da seleçâo da Coréia do Sul. Mas, independentemente das referidas características particulares, é um filme que merece ser assistido, pois a realidade retratada pode ser utilizada no ámbito educacional, fomentando debates em nivel de graduaçao e pós-graduaęao na área da Educaçao Física, sob o viés do espirito olímpico, da implementaçao de novos métodos de treinamento e da psicología esportiva, ao passo que permite a visualizaçao da trajetória dos atletas em suas esferas social e psíquica.
The Handball game suffered a great evolution in terms of speed in the last ten years, is much faster and the number of ball possesses of each team is certainly higher. Through the constant ...interaction of the players, the study of their role and importance in an offensive action sequence could provide relevant information in match analysis. In this sense, the aim of the study was to verify the effect of the number of passes per ball possession according to the final action outcome and to identify the influence of each player in the team-passing network.
