With the rapid development of e-commerce, online shopping has gradually become the mainstream method. At the same time, the return rate of commodities is also much higher than the traditional ...business model, and the reverse logistics problem of e-commerce has attracted much attention. This paper discusses the cost of reverse logistics in depth and extends to the general situation, taking Jingdong Self-operated Mall as an example. Reverse logistics is more expensive, more difficult and involves more complex factors than forward logistics, making it challenging to control costs while ensuring customer satisfaction. Several solutions to the cost problem of reverse logistics are currently available in the market, but they have certain limitations and drawbacks. This paper proposes some optimization strategies, including introducing self-mailing and self-pick-up, strengthening quality inspection mechanisms, setting up specialized commodity certification and secondary sales centers, and commissioning third-party reverse logistics to improve the efficiency of reverse logistics, reducing costs, minimizing losses and regulating order. It is also recommended that the fairness and reasonableness of the platform be maintained by strengthening the audit mechanism, adjusting the return and exchange policy and taking stringent measures against negative returns.
Emergency logistics refers to the transportation, storage, and distribution of materials to ensure the safety of people’s lives and property and social stability in an emergency or disaster. Since ...the outbreak of COVID-19, the state and society have paid more attention to constructing emergency logistics systems. In recent years, the research on route optimization and location selection of emergency logistics has also increased. The study of emergency logistics location and routing is significant for improving emergency logistics efficiency, optimizing resource allocation, improving emergency response capabilities, and reducing emergency risks. It can provide scientific decision-making support for emergency management departments and logistics enterprises, promote social emergency management level improvement, and ensure the safety of people’s lives and property. This article studies relevant literature on domestic and international emergency logistics routing and location issues in recent years, summarizes the main models and related algorithms to solve this problem, analyzes the current research status in recent years, and looks forward to future research directions.
Amaç: Mevcut araştırmanın temel amacı; lojistik işletmelerde çalışanların profili ile yenilik odaklılığı arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemektir. Çalışmanın en temel ve öncelikli amacı lojistik işletme ...çalışanlarının yenilik odaklılıklarının demografik faktörlere göre farklılaşıp farklılaşmadığını tespit etmektir. Demografik faktörler göz önünde bulundurularak lojistik işletmelerde çalışanların pozisyonları, çalışma süreleri, eğitim durumları ve cinsiyetlerine ilişkin değerlendirmeler yapılmıştır. Demografik bilgiler ışığında yenilik odaklılıklarının çalışan profiline göre farklılaşıp farklılaşmadığı incelenmiştir.
Yöntem: Araştırma kapsamında nicel araştırmalar arasında yer alan veri toplama yöntemi olarak anket kullanılmıştır. Bu çalışmada Sabuncu (2014) ile Rejeb, vd. (2008) çalışmalarından yararlanılmıştır. Rejeb vd. (2008) çalışmasından alınan ifadeler uzmanlar tarafından dilimize çevrilerek uygulanmıştır.
Araştırmanın kapsamını İstanbul Ticaret Odası lojistik hizmetler komitesine kayıtlı işletmeler oluşturmaktadır. Anket soruları lojistik sektörünün farklı kademelerindeki çalışanlar tarafından yanıtlandırılmıştır. Alınan bilgilere göre verilerin toplanmasında araştırma yöntemlerinden biri olan yargısal örnekleme ya da diğer bir deyişle amaca yönelik örnekleme kullanılmıştır. Bu kapsamda internet üzerinden 201 katılımcıya ulaşılarak veriler toplanmıştır.
Bulgular: Araştırmada kullanılan yenilik odaklılık ölçeğinin güvenirlik ve geçerlik test sonuçlarının yüksek seviyede olduğu görülmüştür. Yapılan analizler sonucunda lojistik işletmelerde çalışan profilinin işletmedeki pozisyonu, çalışma süresi, eğitim düzeyi ve cinsiyeti ile yenilik odaklılığı arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlılık bulunmamaktadır. Hipotezler reddedilmiştir.
Özgünlük: Çalışma kapsamında yapılan literatür taraması sonucunda işletmelerin çalışan profiline yönelik demografik faktörlerin ele alındığı birçok çalışma bulunmasına rağmen, işletmelerde demografik faktörler açısından çalışanların yenilik odaklılıklarında farklılık olup olmadığını inceleyen bir çalışmaya rastlanmamıştır. Bu bağlamda oluşturulan hipotezlerle lojistik işletmesi çalışanlarının yenilik odaklılıklarının demografik faktörlere göre farklılık göstermediği tespit edilmiş olup, diğer sektörlerde de yenilik odaklılıklarının durumunun belirlenmesine yönelik gelecek çalışmalara kapı açılmıştır.
Purpose: The main purpose of the current research is; To examine the relationship between the profile of employees and innovation orientation in logistics businesses. The most basic and primary aim of the study is to determine whether the innovation orientation of logistics business employees differs according to demographic factors. Considering demographic factors, evaluations were made regarding the positions, working hours, educational status and gender of employees in logistics companies. In the light of demographic information, it was examined whether innovation orientations differ according to employee profile.
Method: Questionnaire was used as the data collection method, which is among the quantitative researches within the scope of the research. In this study, the studies of Sabuncu (2014) and Rejeb, Guimaraes and Boly (2008) were used. Rejeb et al. (2008) were translated into Turkish by experts and applied.
The scope of the research consists of businesses registered to the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce logistics committee. Survey questions were answered by employees at different levels of the logistics industry. According to the information received, judgmental sampling, which is one of the research methods, or in other words, purposeful sampling was used in the collection of data. In this context, data were collected by reaching 201 participants over the internet.
Findings: It was observed that the reliability and validity test results of the innovation orientation scale used in the research were at a high level. As a result of the analysis, there is no statistical significance between the position of the employee profile in the business, working time, education level and gender, and innovation focus in logistics businesses. The hypotheses were rejected.
Originality: As a result of the literature review conducted within the scope of the study, although there are many studies that deal with the demographic factors of the employee profile of the enterprises, there is no study that examines whether there is a difference in the innovation orientation of the employees in terms of demographic factors in the enterprises. With the hypotheses created in this context, it has been determined that the innovation orientation of logistics company employees does not differ according to demographic factors, and the door has been opened for future studies to determine the status of innovation orientation in other sectors.
Meat packaging and intelligent evaluation and monitoring of key parameters not only are important technologies to ensure meat quality and safety but also form the key foundation for optimizing ...packaging materials and improving the efficiency of cold chain operations. In recent years, numerous studies have focused on comprehensive (or multi-functional) packaging materials, multiple parameter evaluation methods, quality intelligent monitoring technology, and optimization of the control of various links in cold chain logistics (CCL). Such research has significant practical application value for extending meat shelf-life and reducing the risk of foodborne diseases.
This paper reviews the current research status, existing problems, and future evolution of CCL by focusing on meat packaging, meat quality evaluation and monitoring, and meat quality prediction and control. We also elaborate in detail the challenges faced in researching these topics and discuss the focal points of future research aiming to improve the quality and efficiency of CCL.
Packaging material optimization and dynamic quality perception are vital for achieving meat quality and safety over the entire CCL and demand the digital and intelligent development of the meat cold chain. A key finding of this review is that the comprehensive (or composite) packaging and intelligent quality assessment and monitoring are important forces promoting the transformation of traditional meat CCL to smart, green, and efficient CLL involving the intelligent management and control of all links therein.

The environmental consciousness of customers and the emergence of stricter environmental regulations has pushed industries to think about environmental management by means of reverse logistics (RL) implementation. In order to implement RL systems, a careful analysis of barriers that hinder the reverse flow must be taken. However, most existing research on the barriers for RL implementation is focused on developed countries. Among the most important emerging economies, Brazil, the largest Latin America economy, faces challenges such as a deficient logistics infrastructure and the recently enacted National Policy on solid waste. To bridge this gap, this paper identifies and evaluates the barriers for RL in the Brazilian context. An eleven-step research methodology is proposed. First, literature was thoroughly reviewed. fuzzy Delphi method (FDM) was used to obtain the critical list of barriers by experts and industrial managers’ opinions. Then, analytic hierarchy process (AHP) questionnaires were answered by electrical–electronic equipment (EEE) industry sector experts in order to obtain the priority ranking of barriers. This paper contributes with a compilation of the RL barriers from a systematic literature review process, a list of most common RL barriers accepted by Brazilian organizations, and a priority ranking of RL barriers for the electrical-electronic industry sector in Brazil. The “Economic related issues” category of barriers seems to be the first priority. The financial burden of tax and the uncertainty related to economic issues appear to be major obstacles for RL implementation.
Purpose
There are particularly high fresh agricultural product (FAP) loss rates in actual supply chain operation and the development of FAPs e-commerce is hindered to some extent. The purpose of this ...paper is to achieve the coordination of three-layer FAP supply chain and maximize profit through the contracts among the supply chain members.
Design/methodology/approach
A three-layer FAP supply chain that consists of a fresh produce e-commerce enterprise, third-party logistics service provider (TPLSP) and community convenience store under e-commerce environment is considered. New game models are developed and optimal decisions in centralized and decentralized channel are characterized. Different contract coordination mechanisms are designed to improve the supply chain performance. Finally, computational studies are conducted.
Findings
The decentralized supply chain cannot be coordinated by a freshness-keeping cost-sharing contract, and it can be coordinated by a freshness-keeping cost-sharing and revenue-sharing contract. The optimal unit online selling price, unit logistics distribution price, fresh-keeping effort and unit self-collection service price can all be achieved.
Practical implications
The paper provides a practical guideline to managers in fresh produce industry in terms of how to cooperate with other supply chain members so as to maximize total profit and achieve Pareto improvement while also supply the freshest and safest produce to the target market under e-commerce environment.
Originality/value
Few studies have explored the coordination of three-layer FAP supply chain under e-commerce environment with TPLSP and community convenience store’s participation in decisions, especially considering that the market demand for FAPs is affected by freshness and unit online selling price. In this paper, all these scenarios are taken into account and corresponding mathematical models are developed. In particular, different contract coordination mechanisms are designed and examined simultaneously.

Purpose
Green supply chain management (GSCM) and the circular economy (CE) overlap but also differ. The purpose of this paper is to clarify linkages between these two concepts. It identifies mutual ...theory applications used to study GSCM and CE.
Design/methodology/approach
A systematic literature review is conducted to identify theories from GSCM and CE studies. A critical analysis explores the theories that can provide mutual applications between GSCM and CE fields. Propositions are developed.
Findings
In all, 12 theories are applied in both GSCM and CE studies. Several theories are only applied in GSCM studies, but can help to advance CE study. These theories include complexity, transaction cost economics, agency, and information theories. Each of the eight theories only applied to CE can potentially advance GSCM study.
Research limitations/implications
The findings contribute to further theory development for both GSCM and CE study. A methodological review can advance theoretical development and cross-pollination in both fields.
Originality/value
This work is the first study to explicitly explore linkages of GSCM and CE from a theoretical perspective.
With the application of advanced technology, smart logistics ecological cooperation is in development, characterised by data sharing and platform empowerment. In order to explore the trend of ...ecological cooperation between the logistics platform and the supplier from the perspective of business ecosystem, this study uses evolutionary game theory to describe the multi-period game between the two parties, and obtains the equilibrium where the two parties both choose ecological cooperation and its preconditions. Through sensitivity analysis, we obtain the specific paths to convert other evolutionary stable strategies (ESSs) into the ideal ESS by adjusting certain parameters, and provide suggestions for the platform to induce its supplier to choose ecological cooperation. The platform should charge a reasonable agency fee to reach the ecological cooperation. The relationship between the agency fee, empowerment cost, and service price elasticity coefficient determines the platform's ultimate evolutionary stable strategy. This study finds the butterfly effect of ecological cooperation. There are different combinations of the initial probabilities between the two parties making them both choose ecological cooperation or both not choose under the same condition.

Agent-based modeling is a useful and effective approach to exploring industrial logistics system, while agent interaction protocol is a key to support agent-based industrial logistics modeling. Current modeling methods are mainly developed to face general industrial systems and are in a certain sense difficult to fully meet the need of modeling military industrial logistics system. In this research, we focus on describing and implementing military industrial logistics agent interaction protocol by presenting a new command interaction diagram (CID) oriented paradigm. We not only present the concept and corresponding graphical notation representations of CID for multi-agent interaction process, but also design and develop the CID modeling tool with a function of logic verification, thus realizing the mechanism of automatic transformation from conceptual model of CID to its simulation model. In addition, we provide a case study and perform agent-based military industrial logistics simulation. The simulation demonstration and corresponding validation show that our method can meet actual needs and achieve good results, with more advantages than other traditional modeling methods. This fact proves the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method.
