El presente artículo analiza críticamente las condiciones de posibilidad de relaciones inter/multi-especies no basadas en la dominación, sino más bien en el reconocimiento de lo no-idéntico como ...valioso y único en sí mismo. En orden a rastrear las pistas históricas de estas constelaciones de sociabilidad, y, a la luz de la categoría benjaminiana de urimagen, hemos seleccionado dos obras de arte que, concluimos, se muestran horizontes no represivos para pensar la organización de relaciones inter/multiespecies con base en la mímesis: El jardín de las delicias (c. 1500-1505), específicamente el panel central, de El Bosco yLa creación de las aves (1957), de Remedios Varo.
Antwoord aan onze critici Het is een eer en een genoegen om zoveel interessante en constructieve reacties te hebben mogen ontvangen op ons artikel over de mogelijkheid van een inclusieve ethiek die ...mensen motiveert om verantwoordelijkheid te nemen voor problemen ver weg in identiteit, afstand en tijd, zoals racisme, mondiale ongelijkheid, en klimaatopwarming. Ons stuk kwam voort uit de angst dat als de mensheid niet snel praktisch handen en voeten weet te geven aan een dergelijke inclusieve ethiek er een gerede kans bestaat dat we elkaar in een krimpende en opwarmende wereld naar de keel vliegen. Steeds scherper immers tekent zich binnen de politieke arena de tegenstelling af tussen de politiek van het ‘eerst ik, hier, nu’ versus die van het ‘wij, overal, altijd’. Die hoeven echt niet zo parochiaal te zijn als wij (TS en ET) zouden denken. Volgens onze pragmatistische interpretatie van de Dual Process Theory vormt Systeem 1 het reservoir van eerder door Systeem 2 gegenereerde oplossingen. Dit is inderdaad de gangbare opinie.3 Maar wij denken dat deze standaard prioritering aan herziening toe is.

Sono consigli pratici piu che teoria filosofica, e considerano le fasi dell'educazione ateniese: lettura e recitazione, quindi poeti (ed il riferimento e alla Repubblica, 606e - grammatiste), musica - cithariste - (le poesie di Omero accompagnate alla chitarra / lira si dividono in canzoni) e ginnastica (pédotribě), in questo caso i combattimenti (pale), da cui la "palestra", per non parlare del salto in lungo o dei lanci (disco, lancia). La musica e la ginnastica sono sorelle, la paideia ateniese su di esse getta le basi (Repubblica, 404b), il programma pedagogico di Platone comprende l'educazione dei poeti, la musica (armonia e ritmo), ho accennato alla ginnastica, attraverso tutto ció che Platone vuole la purificazione della citta da mania e katokokhe - forme di delirio e di poesia.
Mimesis is one of the oldest, most fundamental concepts in Western aesthetics. This book offers a new, searching treatment of its long history at the center of theories of representational art: above ...all, in the highly influential writings of Plato and Aristotle, but also in later Greco-Roman philosophy and criticism, and subsequently in many areas of aesthetic controversy from the Renaissance to the twentieth century. Combining classical scholarship, philosophical analysis, and the history of ideas - and ranging across discussion of poetry, painting, and music - Stephen Halliwell shows with a wealth of detail how mimesis, at all stages of its evolution, has been a more complex, variable concept than its conventional translation of imitation can now convey.Far from providing a static model of artistic representation, mimesis has generated many different models of art, encompassing a spectrum of positions from realism to idealism. Este ensayo pretende considerar algunos ejemplos de la producción de Diego Velázquez susceptibles de ser interpretados como transgresiones de género. Desde un punto de vista metapictórico, los ...bodegones de su etapa sevillana no serán elucidados ni como ‘pinturas de lo cotidiano’ ni como imágenes polisémicas o emblemáticas, sino como ‘invenciones’ miméticas. A pesar de su significación para el joven Velázquez, la naturaleza muerta declinaría como género independiente en su madurez. Sin embargo, mucho de lo aprendido de su ejercitación resurgió purificado en sus ‘fábulas’ o ‘pinturas de historia’. Con todas estas obras, Velázquez superaría el concepto de imitación simple hasta el punto de desarrollar el de dissimulatio artis como fin verdadero de su pintura.

In his earlier books such as Tropics of Discourse and The Content of the Form, Hayden White focused on the conventions of historical writing and on the ordering of ...historical consciousness. In Figural Realism, White collects eight interrelated essays primarily concerned with the treatment of history in recent literary critical discourse. "'History' is not only an object we can study," writes White, "it is also and even primarily a certain kind of relationship to 'the past' mediated by a distinctive kind of written discourse. It is because historical discourse is actualized in its culturally significant form as a specific kind of writing that we may consider the relevance of literary theory to both the theory and the practice of historiography."
This thesis offers an exploration of narrative community in the Jacob tôledôt, In response to recent source critical arguments that espouse discontinuity by focusing on the concept of plot, a more ...nuanced understanding of these properties is developed and applied to Gen 37:2-50:26. Paul Ricoeur's philosophical work, Time and Narrative, serves as a foundation for the derivation of an interpretive model that appeals to mimesis as the inherent predicate of plot. Drawing in turn on Aristotelian muthos, a threefold rubic is affirmed that gives head to a narrative's hermeneutical consciousness while also acknowledging the intended communicative effect. The result is a greater affirmation of narrative continuity in the Jacob tôledôt that challenges recent sources critical conclusions imply. By pursuing a more developed understanding of the relationship between plot and narrative continuity, this thesis offers and interpretation of the Jacob tôledôt that challenges recent source critical conclusions. Certainly, further research might allow for a better apprehension of mimesis as it pertains tot he Pentateuchal text. However, the application of Ricoeur's theory of narrative proves to elucidate greater lines of continuity than diachronic reading strategies have allowed. A continuous plot-structure for the Jacob tôledôt is affirmed, wherein every episode makes a necessary contribution to the whole: a story that perpetuates the anticipation of a royal deliverer and beckons the reader to participate in this hope.
