Based on the stimulus-organism-response (SOR) framework, this study investigated the antecedents of green online purchase intention by focusing on the impact of electronic service quality (i.e., firm ...characteristics) and customer green psychology—green word-of-mouth (WOM), green trust, greenwashing, consumer social responsibility, green perceived value, and green involvement (i.e., customer characteristics). Non-probability samples of 1002 respondents from different Chinese provinces were collected via a questionnaire and the data were analyzed using smart partial least squares (SmartPLS). Results show that e-service quality, consumer social responsibility, green trust, and green perceived value have significant positive impacts, while greenwashing has a negative influence on green purchase intention. Moreover, consumer social responsibility, green WOM, green trust, and green perceived value positively moderated the relationship between e-service quality and green purchase intention, while greenwashing and green involvement negatively moderated these relationships. The findings can enhance the understanding of Chinese customers’ green purchasing behaviors from both firm characteristics (i.e., e-service quality) and customer characteristics (i.e., green psychological variables) and provide guidelines to firms to promote their green products without indulging in greenwashing.

Problematic Internet use (PIU) is an emerging public health problem, and university students comprise a high-risk population. This systematic review aims to examine the terminology, assessment tools, ...prevalence, and predictive factors associated with PIU in university students.
A literature review was performed according to the PRISMA guidelines. We searched the Web of Science, Scopus, PsycInfo, and Medline databases to identify relevant empirical studies published between 2013 and 2021. A total of 76 studies were included. Quality assessment and narrative synthesis were conducted.
Variability was found in terminology and assessment tools. The prevalence rates of PIU varied (4–51%). The quality of the articles was adequate. Ten predictive factors for PIU have been identified, divided into three categories (patterns of use, psychological variables, and lifestyles). Among these, nine were risk factors (time spent online, online gaming, depression, negative affect, life stress, maladaptive cognitions, impulsivity, poor sleep quality, substance use (alcohol and drugs)), and one was a protective factor (conscientiousness).
The lack of consensus in the terminology, assessment tools, and diagnostic criteria of PIU was corroborated. Furthermore, the essential role of intrapsychic variables in PIU was demonstrated with important practical implications for developing preventive strategies.
•Problematic Internet use is an umbrella term for a variety of maladaptive online behaviours.•Internet use is especially relevant among university students.•Fifty assessment tools was used to evaluate PIU.•Problematic Internet use and internet addiction could be different levels of severity on the same continuum.•Several patterns of use and psychological variables are found to be predictors of PIU.
Chronic pain affects ∼20% of the European population and is commoner in women, older people, and with relative deprivation. Its management in the community remains generally unsatisfactory, partly ...because of lack of evidence for effective interventions. Epidemiological study of chronic pain, through an understanding of its distribution and determinants, can inform the development, targeting, and evaluation of interventions in the general population. This paper reviews current knowledge of risk markers associated with chronic pain and considers how these might inform management and prevention. Risk factors include socio-demographic, clinical, psychological, and biological factors. These are relevant to our understanding of chronic pain mechanisms and the nature of, and responses to, current and future treatments.
La Inteligencia Emocional es la capacidad de reconocer, entender, controlar y modificar nuestras emociones y las de los demás. El objetivo de este estudio fue determinar si la variable Inteligencia ...Emocional se relaciona con aquellas variables psicológicas relevantes para el rendimiento deportivo. Las participantes fueron 60 jugadoras de fútbol de 13 equipos de primera división “Liga Iberdrola”, con una media de edad de 24,33±3,72. Se utilizó el Cuestionario de Características Psicológicas relacionadas con el Rendimiento Deportivo (CPRD) y la Escala Rasgo de Metaconocimientos sobre Estados Emocionales (TMMS-24) para evaluar las variables de estudio. Los resultados indican que la Inteligencia emocional se relaciona estadísticamente con el Control del Estrés, la Influencia de la Evaluación del Rendimiento, la Habilidad Mental, la Autoconfianza, la Ansiedad y la Motivación. All these findings coincide with the fact that preparatory GPA was the most correlated variable with university GPA in both sexes. This research aims to develop a decision tree model for understanding actual gas consumption in residential buildings. Extending previous studies, this study examined to what extent four different ...type of factors, building characteristics, socio-demographics, psychological factors and household behaviour can explain actual gas consumption of Dutch households in 2017 and 2018. Data were collected from 601 households. A novel approach, a decision tree method, revealed that household gas consumption was related to building characteristics, socio-demographics, and psychological factors, while energy-related behaviour in households was not uniquely related to gas consumption. Specifically, house size, building age and residence type (building characteristics), household income and employment status (socio-demographics), and most notably egoistic values, hedonic values, environmental self-identity, perceived corporate environmental responsibility of the energy provider, and social norm (psychological factors) predicted total actual household gas consumption. These results illustrate that the novel integrated framework introduced in the paper yields a better understanding of actual household gas consumption. The results have important practical implications and suggest that it would be important to target these three type of factors in policy aimed to reduce household gas consumption.

In this meta-analysis, we give a comprehensive overview of the effects of meditation on psychological variables that can be extracted from empirical studies, concentrating on the effects of ...meditation on nonclinical groups of adult meditators. Mostly because of methodological problems, almost ¾ of an initially identified 595 studies had to be excluded. Most studies appear to have been conducted without sufficient theoretical background. To put the results into perspective, we briefly summarize the major theoretical approaches from both East and West. The 163 studies that allowed the calculation of effect sizes exhibited medium average effects ( = .28 for all studies and = .27 for the n = 125 studies from reviewed journals), which cannot be explained by mere relaxation or cognitive restructuring effects. In general, results were strongest (medium to large) for changes in emotionality and relationship issues, less strong (about medium) for measures of attention, and weakest (small to medium) for more cognitive measures. However, specific findings varied across different approaches to meditation (transcendental meditation, mindfulness meditation, and other meditation techniques). Surprisingly, meditation experience only partially covaried with long-term impact on the variables examined. In general, the dependent variables used cover only some of the content areas about which predictions can be made from already existing theories about meditation; still, such predictions lack precision at present. We conclude that to arrive at a comprehensive understanding of why and how meditation works, emphasis should be placed on the development of more precise theories and measurement devices.

The aim of this study was to examine the effect of time of day on short-term maximal performance and psychological variables in young females. Fifteen active women participated in the study (age: 22 ...± 3 years) and completed Hooper and the POMS-F questionnaires subsequently. In a randomized order, they performed a maximum of 30 s cycling exercise at two different times of day: in the morning at 07:00 h and in the afternoon at 16:00 h with a recovery period of 48 h. The digit cancellation test, countermovement jump (CMJ), squat jump (SJ) test, and the lower quarter Y balance test were performed at the beginning and at the end of each session. Our results showed that only peak power and mean power ( p < 0.01) during the maximum 30 s cycling, reaching distances during the Y-balance ( p < 0.05), Jump height in CMJ and SJ ( p < 0.01) as well as attention, vigor, and stress scores (all p < 0.01) were higher in the afternoon than in the morning. Our results indicated a daily diurnal variation in short-term maximal performance and mood states in young athletic women with better performance observed during the afternoon.
PURPOSE This study aimed to verify the influence of imposter syndrome tendencies in athletes on their achievement goal orientation, and regulatory focus. METHODS Data collected from 413 athletes ...through surveys were analyzed using SPSS version 27.0 and AMOS version 21.0 to assess reliability and validity, conduct independent sample t-tests, perform correlation analysis, and conduct multiple regression analyses. RESULTS The findings revealed significant sex-based differences in imposter syndrome tendencies, achievement goal orientation, and regulatory focus. Moreover, significant correlations were observed between sub-factors of imposter syndrome, achievement goal orientation, and regulatory focus. Imposter syndrome tendencies had varying effects on achievement goal orientation, with the discount factor significantly influencing approach orientation, the fake factor significantly affecting avoidance orientation, and fear factors significantly impacting self-avoidance. Additionally, imposter syndrome tendencies influenced regulatory focus, as the discount factor significantly affected both promotion focus and prevention focus, while fake and fear factors significantly influenced prevention focus. CONCLUSIONS This study underscores the importance of athletes' imposter syndrome tendencies as significant contributors to psychological variables related to motivation, including achievement goal orientation and regulatory focus.
Background: Emotion regulation involves the modulation of emotional experiences to facilitate goal attainment. Conversely, emotional difficulties are a pattern of emotional experiences and ...expressions that interfere with goal-directed behavior. Objectives: Design a new model to predict the presence of depression in women during pregnancy. Methods: Non-experimental, cross-sectional, explanatory study of depression in women during pregnancy (logistic regression) considering the variables emotional intelligence, parental care, anxiety and stress. The sample consisted of 273 pregnant women-mothers between 14 and 38 weeks pregnant, aged between 18 and 38 years, for a mean of 25.67 years (SD= 5.8). Results: The regression model is valid and significant in predicting the probability of occurrence of depression, explaining 82.4% of the variance of DV (Presence of depression) by the variables age, clarity and repair of depression dimensions. emotional intelligence, the maternal and paternal overprotection dimensions, and paternal care of the parental style variables; stress, work and single marital status. There is a 95.2% probability of success in the depression result when each of the model variables is incorporated. Conclusions: The best predictors of depression in pregnancy would be, on the one hand, higher levels or values of the variables and indicators age, reparation, maternal overprotection, paternal care, and stress, and on the other hand, low scores in the dimensions and values of clarity variables, and paternal overprotection; added to whether the woman works and is single. This combination of variables would be the individual and contextual conditions that influence said appearance.
