This research focuses on the different visions of the female body and the gender issue in puppet theatre in Spain developed by the theatre company Winged Cranes based in Madrid through the study of ...three of its most relevant productions: Don Kiss me, I’m in training; The soldier with no name and Bernarda’s Backstage. An analysis of the multicultural and interdisciplinary contexts in which Winged Cranes has been formed and developed its artistic work is proposed. The performative bodies created by this company for the stage are analyzed by examining the puppets shown in its productions. This investigation values the contribution of Winged Cranes to the representation of women in puppet theatre and theatre in general in Spain from a feminist and a gender perspective.
Esta investigación se centra en las diferentes imágenes del cuerpo femenino y la temática de género en el teatro de títeres en España que desarrolla la compañía de teatro Winged Cranes, con base en Madrid, a través del estudio de tres de sus montajes más relevantes: Don’t kiss me, I’m in training; The soldier with no name; y Bernarda’s Backstage. Se propone un análisis de los contextos multiculturales e interdisciplinares en los que se ha formado y desarrollado su trabajo artístico Winged Cranes. Se analizan los cuerpos performativos creados por esta compañía para la escena mediante el examen de las marionetas que presenta en las producciones objeto de este estudio. Esta investigación valora la aportación de Winged Cranes a la representación de la mujer en el teatro de títeres y del teatro en general en España desde una perspectiva feminista y de género.

Tom zawiera teksty dwudziestu ośmiu autorów podzielone na trzy części: 1. Teoria i praktyka, 2. Nowe dialogi z historią i tradycją, 3. Współczesne badania i hybrydyzacje. Redaktorzy deklarują, że prezentuje ona w większości prace anglojęzycznych badaczy, którzy przyglądają się lalce i materialnemu performansowi z perspektywy filozofii, historii i teatru. Książka charakteryzuje się nie tylko zróżnicowaną tematyką, ale także różnorodnością metodologiczną. Jest dowodem na to, że współczesny teatr lalek i materialny performans przyciągają wybitnych badaczy i intelektualistów, którzy zręcznie posługują się metodami wypracowanymi przez współczesną psychologię, filozofię, antropologię i teatrologię.
Although Carolingian epics are at the heart of the traditional Liège puppet repertoire, they remain a little explored field of research. This essay focuses on two epics, Les quatre fils ...Aymon and Huon de Bordeaux, which serve as case studies to examine the transition from narrative to dramatic text and its transposition for the regional puppet stage. Following the stories from the,annotated novels to the modern plays, the first part shows how the dramatisation of the prose text gradually developed. The second part examines the creation process of staging the story of the paladins of France from the point of view of regional identification, focusing on the role of Tchantchès, the typical character of the Liège puppet theatre.
Me propongo recuperar la trayectoria de Elba Fábregas, caracterizar su modo de hacer títeres y trazar algunas líneas que permitancomprender las vicisitudes de aquellas mujeres que incursionaron en ...este arte en la ciudad de Buenos Aires a partir de la segunda mitad delsiglo xx. Comenzaremos por reflexionar sobre la presencia de mujeres en el mundo de los títeres para luego caracterizar el trabajo de Fábregascomo artista visual. Finalmente, reconstruiremos su labor titiritera haciendo hincapié en la heterogeneidad y en el lugar que ocupó su cuerpoen escena. Parto de la hipótesis de que la puesta en escena de su propio cuerpo organizó y dio sentido a la multiplicidad de objetos utilizados yle permitió establecer un juego directo con el público a la vez que colaboró en desarmar la relación entre trabajo femenino y esfera privada y en multiplicar las imágenes asociadas al arte de los títeres.
Tulisan ini berangkat dari masih sedikitnya penelitian yang dilakukan pada bagaimana ruang difungsikan dan digunakan dalam seni pertunjukan Indonesia. Mengambil pertunjukan teater Saidja karya ...kolaborasi Papermoon Puppet Theatre dan Het Volksoperahuis, penulis melakukan analisis pada peran tubuh aktor dalam membangun ruang sebagai lokasi peristiwa. Pertunjukan Saidja menampilkan ruang bernama Kampung Tebu di masa lalu dan masa kini, penulis menelusuri makna tempat dan peristiwa-peristiwa yang terjadi di dalamnya dalam pertunjukan Saidja. Meminjam klasifikasi tanda-tanda yang digunakan dalam pertunjukan teater oleh Tadeusz Kowzan, relasi tubuh dan ruang yang ditempatinya oleh Setha Low, serta klasifikasi jenis-jenis pertunjukan yang mengangkat ingatan-ingatan tentang masa lalu, penulis menemukan bahwa di atas panggung tubuh para aktor-lah yang berperan besar menciptakan tempat-tempat yang menjadi lokasi peristiwa. Analisis pada pergerakan tubuh aktor dan tempat yang mereka ciptakan di atas panggung memungkinkan untuk membaca pula makna pertunjukan pada konteks yang lebih luas, yaitu pada konteks pandangan hubungan orang Indonesia dan orang Belanda pada relasi mereka di masa lalu.

In 1942, a young Dublin architect, Nelson Paine, formed the Dublin Marionette Group on foot of an international re-appraisal of the potential of the puppet theatre as a form of expression. This Group ...became the nucleus of experimental theatre in the Irish capital and influenced several well-known Irish creative artists over the decade of its existence and beyond. It attracted the involvement of actors, artists and dramatists of the period and performed in professional settings, including eight seasons at the Peacock Theatre and for each of the first four years of the Wexford Opera Festival. This article examines the context of the Group’s formation, its long-forgotten experimental approach, and its considerable contribution to the development of the arts in Ireland.
Wspomnienie o Henryku Jurkowskim (1927–2016), historyku, teoretyku i krytyku teatru lalek. Jurkowski był także pedagogiem, dramaturgiem i redaktorem. Przez wiele lat reprezentował Polskę w UNIMA ...(Union Internationale de la Marionnette) i był członkiem jej władz (m.in. członkiem Prezydium, później Komitetu Wykonawczego, 1959–1992; sekretarzem generalnym, 1972–1980; wiceprzewodniczącym, 1980–1984; przewodniczącym, 1984–1992). Był także prezesem POLUNIMA (2007–2011). Opublikował setki artykułów, esejów, recenzji i kilkadziesiąt książek w kilkunastu językach na temat historii i teorii teatru lalek oraz estetyki lalkarskiej. W Polsce wznawiano jego trzytomowe Dzieje teatru lalek (PIW: Warszawa, 1970, 1976, 1984; wydanie II poprawione w dwóch tomach - Lublin, 2012). Za granicą ukazały się m.in.: Aspects of Puppet Theatre. Mane Bernardo’s Títere: magia del teatro (1963) examined the appearance of puppets in Argentine cinema. Though Bernardo listed formats without establishing technical distinctions, she brought to the ...fore the productivity of the interaction between puppetry and audiovisual media. While puppets are customarily imagined within a theatrical framework, this article focuses onthe cinematographic construction of an apparent theatrical device to underscore the performance of the puppets. The corpus brings together broadcasts from Noticiero Panamericano and Sucesos Argentinos, and films such as Madreselva (1938), Donde mueren las palabras (1946), Gringalet (1959) and La novela de un joven pobre (1968). I am not only interested in the incursions of puppets in Argentine cinema, but also in the ways in which theywere presented, i.e.in the strategies deployed, and the resulting construction of meaning.
Em Títere: magia del teatro (1963), Mane Bernardo revisou a presença dos bonecos no cinema argentino. Embora nesta lista tenha combinado formatos sem estabelecer distinções técnicas, ao enumerar estas experiências trouxe à tona a produtividade dodiálogo entre o mundo das marionetas e os meios audiovisuais. Se até agora só era possível imaginar a marioneta no enquadramento teatral, aqui vou centrar a minha atenção na construção cinematográfica de um dispositivo teatral —à primeira vista—para mostrar a performance das marionetas. O corpus reúne as transmissões do Noticiero Panamericano e Sucesos Argentinos, e longas-metragens como Madreselva (1938), Donde mueren las palabras (1946), Gringalet (1959) e La novela de un joven pobre (1968). Interessa-me resgatar as incursões dos bonecos no cinema argentino, mas também aprofundar as formas como esses bonecos foram apresentados, as estratégias utilizadas para fazê-lo e os significados que foram construídos.

Aunque en este listado combinaba formatos sin establecer distinciones técnicas, al enumerar estas experiencias ponía en primer plano la productividad del diálogo entre el mundo de los títeres y los medios audiovisuales. Si hasta ahora solo era posible imaginarse al títere en el marco teatral, aquí concentraré mi atención en la construcción cinematográfica de un dispositivo —a primera vista— teatral para mostrar la actuación de los muñecos. El corpus reúne emisiones del Noticiero Panamericano y Sucesos Argentinos, y largometrajes como Madreselva (1938), Donde mueren las palabras (1946), Gringalet (1959) y La novela de un joven pobre (1968). Me interesa recuperar las incursiones de los muñecos en el cine argentino, pero también profundizar en los modos en que aquellos títeres fueron presentados, las estrategias desplegadas para hacerlo y los sentidos que se construyeron.
