The present study aims at investigating The Effect of Slip-writing teaching technique on the performance of university EFL Students in essay writing. Quasi experimental design with a non –randomized ...control group, pretest-posttest is adopted. The sample of the present study includes (87) male and female college students selected from 3rd year university students of ThiQar university ,College of Education for Human Sciences, Department of English Language.Face validity and reliability coefficient of the pretest/posttest have been computed.Two independent sample t-test formulas have been used. Final results reveal thatthere is statistically significance difference between the two groups. This means that the experimental group students have proved to be better in their essay writing because they were taught by using the slip-writing technique..Finally, suitable conclusions and recommendations are put forward.

Recent advances in localization techniques have fundamentally enhanced social networking services, allowing users to share their locations and location-related contents, such as geo-tagged photos and ...notes. We refer to these social networks as location-based social networks (LBSNs). Location data bridges the gap between the physical and digital worlds and enables a deeper understanding of users’ preferences and behavior. This addition of vast geo-spatial datasets has stimulated research into novel recommender systems that seek to facilitate users’ travels and social interactions. In this paper, we offer a systematic review of this research, summarizing the contributions of individual efforts and exploring their relations. We discuss the new properties and challenges that location brings to recommender systems for LBSNs. We present a comprehensive survey analyzing 1) the data source used, 2) the methodology employed to generate a recommendation, and 3) the objective of the recommendation. We propose three taxonomies that partition the recommender systems according to the properties listed above. First, we categorize the recommender systems by the objective of the recommendation, which can include locations, users, activities, or social media. Second, we categorize the recommender systems by the methodologies employed, including content-based, link analysis-based, and collaborative filtering-based methodologies. Third, we categorize the systems by the data sources used, including user profiles, user online histories, and user location histories. For each category, we summarize the goals and contributions of each system and highlight the representative research effort. Further, we provide comparative analysis of the recommender systems within each category. Finally, we discuss the available data-sets and the popular methods used to evaluate the performance of recommender systems. Finally, we point out promising research topics for future work. This article presents a panorama of the recommender systems in location-based social networks with a balanced depth, facilitating research into this important research theme.
Early identification and intervention in patients with cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC) who are at high risk for metastasis is important for optimal outcomes. Prognostic tools (e.g., American ...Joint Committee on Cancer, 8th edition AJCC-8) and management guidelines (National Comprehensive Cancer Network® NCCN) are useful in helping to identify high-risk patients with cSCC who might benefit from adjuvant therapies, such as radiation and/or immunotherapies; however, traditional staging and management guidelines rely on clinicopathologic risk factors to predict risk, which limits their prognostic accuracy. Gene expression profiling (GEP) is a clinically available, objective metric that can be used in conjunction with traditional clinicopathological staging to help clinicians stratify risk in patients with cSCC. The validated 40-GEP test can accurately classify patients with at least one high-risk feature as being at low (Class 1), higher (Class 2A), or highest (Class 2B) biological risk of nodal or distant metastasis within three years of diagnosis. A multidisciplinary panel comprising radiation oncologists and dermatologists/Mohs micrographic surgeons with expertise in cSCC management convened in June 2023 to discuss the utility of 40-GEP testing in cSCC clinical decision-making in regard to adjuvant radiation therapy (ART). The panel identified gaps in clinical practice in which 40-GEP testing has particular utility: in escalation of care for lower-stage patients with high-risk tumors; in de-escalation of care for patients for whom the risks of ART may outweigh the benefits; and in decision-making regarding elective radiation to the nodal basin. The expert panel developed a risk-based clinical workflow for ART in patients with cSCC, utilizing 40-GEP testing within NCCN management guidelines and AJCC-8 staging.
The implementation of guideline-directed medical therapy (GDMT) in heart failure (HF) has many challenges in real-world clinical practice. The consensus document is written considering the ...variability of the clinical presentation of HF patients. HF medical therapies need frequent dose adjustment during hospital admission or when patients develop electrolyte imbalance, acute kidney injury, and other acute illnesses. This paper introduces REHAB-C, a goal-based context-aware recommendation system that supports users in transforming their energy habits. A combination of smart sensors and actuators collects ...information about user actions and their context and evaluates the actions to be proposed. Based on user decisions, REHAB-C either triggers an energy saving action, postpones or cancels it and records user preferences. The recommendation system continuously evaluates the user context and action against a rule base along with user goals and prioritizes the recommended actions, also considering other user preferences. The prototype implementation of REHAB-C is evaluated on two real-world scenarios, in an office setup. The user actions and presence are recorded for four weeks, as well as the user behavior towards energy saving, and his preferences on the recommended actions. The analysis of recorded results shows that goal-based context-aware recommendations can help users to improve their energy efficiency and in the long term can automatically adapt to user habits and reduce their energy footprint.

Der Arbeitskreis Mammasonografie der DEGUM ...beabsichtigt mit der „Best Practice Guideline“
den senologisch tätigen Kolleginnen und Kollegen neben dem in Teil I publizierten aktuellen
Dignitätskriterien- und Befundungskatalog in dem vorliegenden Teil II die additiven und
fakultativen Anwendungsmodalitäten zur Abklärung von Brustbefunden zu beschreiben und dazu
DEGUM-Empfehlungen zu äußern, um die Differenzialdiagnose von unklaren Läsionen zu
erleichtern.
Die vorliegende „Best Practice Guideline“ hat sich zum Ziel gesetzt, den Anforderungen zur
Qualitätssicherung und der Gewährleistung einer qualitätskontrollierten Durchführung der
Mammasonografie nachzukommen. Die wichtigsten Aspekte der Qualitätssicherung werden in diesem
Teil II der Best Practice Guideline erläutert.
Abstract
Alongside mammography, breast ultrasound is an important and well-established method in assessment of breast lesions. With the “Best Practice Guideline”, the DEGUM Breast
Ultrasound (in German, “Mammasonografie”) working group, intends to describe the additional
and optional application modalities for the diagnostic confirmation of breast findings and to
express DEGUM recommendations in this Part II, in addition to the current dignity criteria and
assessment categories published in Part I, in order to facilitate the differential diagnosis of
ambiguous lesions.
The present “Best Practice Guideline” has set itself the goal of meeting
the requirements for quality assurance and ensuring quality-controlled performance of breast
ultrasound. The most important aspects of quality assurance are explained in this Part II of
the Best Practice Guideline.
The outbreak of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has severely affected the global and Pakistani economy. Major victims of the COVID-19 outbreak are micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs). ...This article aims to assess the impact of COVID-19 outbreak on these businesses and provide policy recommendations to help MSMEs in reducing business losses and survive through the crisis. We adopted an exploratory methodology with comprehensively reviewing the available literature, including policy documents, research papers, and reports in the relevant field. Further, to add empirical evidence, we collected data from 184 Pakistani MSMEs by administering an online questionnaire. The data were analyzed through descriptive statistics. The results indicate that most of the participating enterprises have been severely affected and they are facing several issues such as financial, supply chain disruption, decrease in demand, reduction in sales and profit, among others. Besides, over 83% of enterprises were neither prepared nor have any plan to handle such a situation. Further, more than two-thirds of participating enterprises reported that they could not survive if the lockdown lasts more than two months. The findings of our study are consistent with previous studies. Based on the results of the research, different policy recommendations were proposed to ease the adverse effects of the outbreak on MSMEs. Although our suggested policy recommendations may not be sufficient to help MSMEs go through the ongoing crisis, these measures will help them weather the storm.
