The objective of this research is to find out the effectiveness of the application cake in order to increase the students listening comprehension easy and fun. The student also easy understands. ...There are two stages method of research they are: First, the researcher conducts a literature review, problem analysis, and observation, determines the sample, surveys on vocabulary comprehension, and pre-tests to determine the abilities of the research subjects, and the second is carried out by implementing the learning method which is then analyzed so that it leads to the final instrument test, then the last is the researcher conducted a post-test. Meanwhile the instrument in this research is pretest and posttest. The sample of this research is members of the English Club at the University of Muhammadiyah Lampung. The number of samples taken was 39 students. The instruments to be used are pre-test and post-test. The results of the pot test showed as many as 3 respondents got scores with a range between 40-50. A total of 7 respondents scored between 52-60, then dial with 7 respondents who got a score between 62-70. The highest score is dominated by the 4th series with 18 respondents who get scores with a range between 72-80. Closed with 4 people who got a score between 82-90. The use of cake application in the listening learning process has quite a significant impact on learning achievement, when compared to the previous score, the post-test score is higher than the pre-test score.
Despite the fact that incorporating technology into English learning at school has numerous benefits, there are currently very few teachers who have done so. The iPad has been widely used as a ...learning medium in English language study in various nations. However, using an iPad for English language learning in Banda Aceh is still unusual. Descriptive qualitative research with a case study approach was carried to describe how the teacher uses the iPad in teaching English for the seventh-grade students at SMP Islam Al Azhar Cairo Banda Aceh. An observation sheet and interview guide were used to gather the data. The data analysis was processed in the form of condensation data, display data, and conclusion data which are proposed by Miles, Huberman, and Saldana (2014). The findings show that some applications were used by the English teacher to support the learning atmosphere, such as; iTunes U App, Keynote App, Pages App, and iTunes U App. Furthermore, the web browsing function is the most commonly used and important feature for students at SMP Islam Al-Azhar Cairo Banda Aceh. It provides quick and easy access to the students and the support it provides for collaboration.
Education at this time is inseparable from technological advances; even technology is the result of knowledge that is passed on through the educational process. The use of social media to communicate ...or simply entertain is one of the technologies that we use the most in our daily lives. Therefore, this study tries to investigate students’ opinion on the utilization of social media in English classroom. This study uses qualitative methods through a descriptive approach. Data was collected in two ways: first, by collecting literature related to the use of social media in learning English, and second, by interviewing three English teachers regarding their opinions on the use of social media in teaching English. Data were analyzed through three stages proposed by Miles and Huberman (2013), namely data reduction, data display, and conclusion. The results of the study show that the use of social media in teaching English has a positive impact on learning English, where students would become more confident, creative, innovative, independent, flexible, fun, and it can improve the learning atmosphere, more interactive, and be able to learn from a wide variety of sources so as to encourage them to improve their English skills.

The purpose of this research to know how the English teacher at X grade of MTI Pasia apply HOTS in Teaching english process, especially in developing productive and receptive skills according to the level of critical thinking.This type of this research was a qualitative descriptive study, the instruments of this study were documentation (document analysis) and observation sheets to collected the data. The subjects in this study was X grade English teachers at MTI Pasia in the 2019/2020 academic year. The results of this study obtained from the document analysis and observation sheets found that, the English teacher at X gradeof MTI pasia did not apply HOTS in teaching English and learning process. The English teacher only applied HOTS to the learning design, it was not apply to the process in learning, this happened not because it was caused by online learning due to COVID 19 pandemic, but it was happened because the teacher did not encourage learning to be effective during thepandemic, the teacher should still be able to improved the learning process using technological advances,even though it was still a long of perfection than face-to-face learning.

WhatsApp media can be used according to the level of student needs and material to be delivered. This type of research is a literature review by gathering sources of information and data from written documents in the form of articles, journals, and books. The conclusion of the study is the existence of the benefits of WhatsApp media that can be used by teachers for learning English in senior high school from simple material to complex material by utilizing technological developments and advancements.
This research was design in descriptive qualitative research. The data was collected and analyzed from several related of literature on the application of videos in English classroom around the ...globe. This study stands its objectives and sees video as one of the effective media that can make students more enjoyed process teaching and learning. This study recorded that many research has proved on the effectiveness of using video as media for students, especially the EFL classroom. It seems using videos can give a relaxing situation for students in learning English. It also can make students more active and easy to understand the material since the video contains pictures and audio that causes students to see the material directly. These recent studies also share the teaching procedure used by the researcher/teacher when conducting teaching and learning activities in the class which are seems divided into three steps, e.g., Pre-activity, main activity, and activity of the last post. The analysis recommends the teacher, as a model should have planning systematically what teacher should do during teaching and learning process to deliver good material.
This work highlights a popular form of volunteer tourism in Southeast Asia — Teaching English as a Foreign Language Volunteer Tourism (TEFL VT). Given the limited literature on this niche form of ...tourism, the purpose of this paper was to gain a better understanding of and differentiation between TEFL VT and TEFL jobs in Thailand based on analyzing the content of position advertisements. TEFL jobs were found to be predominantly long-term paid positions located in Bangkok that preferred college-educated native English speaking Western expatriates with teaching experience, whereas TEFL VT programs were primarily short-term, outside of Bangkok, and did not require teaching experience nor formal education beyond high school. TEFL VT programs were also less restrictive than TEFL jobs with regards to who could apply, required payment, involved activities outside of teaching, and focused not solely on students but also volunteer benefits while distancing themselves from the mass tourism industry.
•TEFL VT and TEFL job advertisements in Thailand differed based on description, qualifications, and benefits.•TEFL jobs were long-term, Bangkok based, paid, and restricted to experienced college-educated native English speakers.•TEFL job advertisements focused on teaching responsibilities and discouraged tourists from applying.•TEFL VT placements were short-term, outside Bangkok, included a variety of activities, and welcomed all applicants.•TEFL VT programs distanced themselves from mass tourism, required payment, and mutually benefited students/volunteers.
This research aimed to investigate the various aspects of EFL teachers’ professional development through Continuous Professional Development (CPD). Hence a study involving 83 EFL teachers from ...different socio-economic, multi-cultural, educational, and disciplinary backgrounds was conducted to ascertain their attitudes, perceptions, and feedback on CPD. The sample population was random, and the data collection was through a questionnaire. The results showed that teachers take charge of their CPD, but for better outcomes, they need professional development through shared experience, reflective teaching, and have a sense of community among them to stay at par with the global standards of the education system. Through this research, the concept of CPD and its significance in teaching English are made available. This study also proposes higher achievement in education through teacher professional development programs. Moreover, the analysis demonstrated that teachers are confident in what they do because of their positive belief in their own CPD. From the results, it was clear that every EFL teacher should take charge of their professional development to become better teachers and help students achieve their goals.
This study investigated the use of instructional materials in teaching English at secondary schools in Tanzania. The study aimed to achieve three objectives: firstly, to identify the instructional ...materials utilized for teaching and learning English in secondary schools in Tanzania; secondly, to explore how learners engage with these instructional materials; and thirdly, to examine the rationale behind the selection and utilization of these materials. It used a qualitative approach with a case study design and it involved twelve English language teachers and form three students. The qualitative case approach was used to observe the classroom and conduct interviews to collect data and they were analysed thematically. The findings reveal that teachers employ both printed and handwritten materials for English instruction in Tanzania. Learners interact with these materials primarily through reading, writing, and responding to questions. The choice of materials depends on what is being studied, their availability, easiness to use and economic reasons. The study has the implication on the definition of instructional materials that it adds that the definition of materials needs to be modified by including people and their actions, such as humour, laughter, sarcasm, gestures, bodily movements, reactions to stimuli like questions, speech and its supra segmental or prosodic features during instruction. It recommends that training teachers to be creative in using materials and the government has to provide infrastructure to support electronic devices in schools.
