A unique fossil assemblage has recently been discovered from Gehun and Lunu sections of Paleocene Barmer Hill Formation in Barmer area, Western Rajasthan, India. Geotourism is the best tool for their promotion and conservation with additional value as branding of Paleopark for sustainable socioeconomic development of the region. Recently, field work was conducted to observe the present scenario and to identify the threats to the fossil site. Introduction. Geographical location of natural resources is a determinant of localization of tourism. Based on the results of the research conducted, the article studies the theoretical and practical ...aspects of transformation of natural resources into a factor in production and consumption of a tourist product, as well as those of formation of directions for the flow of tourists.
Materials and Methods. Materials of surveys of potential tourists conducted by independent research firms, Russian and foreign scientific publications and expert assessments, as well as the results of research carried out by the author of the article were used as the information base of the study. To assess the role and place of natural resources in the production and consumption of a tourist product, content analysis, as well as structural and functional analysis were employed. Using the methods of logical interpretation, statistical data processing, tabular and graphical methods, a scheme of transformation of natural resources into a factor in production and consumption of a tourist product has been devised and the degree of consumer preference for a tourist destination has been identified.
Results. The study has identified problematic aspects of the use of natural resources in tourism, one of which is the underestimation of such resources as a basic factor in production and consumption of a tourist product, which negatively affects the level of economic feasibility of tourism development programs. The role of natural resources in formation of tourist needs and directions of the flow of tourists has been revealed. Conclusions have been drawn about the growing need for tourism with the predominance of the natural component of the tourist product and about the gradual formation of preconditions for local manifestations of overtourism and tourism phobia, in particular in the resorts in the South of Russia. The author has formulated proposals aimed at improving the economic feasibility of domestic tourism development programs.
Discussion and Conclusion. Availability of natural resources is the primary basic condition for production and consumption of a tourist product. Significant costs for their transformation into tourist goods increase the requirements for the level of reasonableness of managerial decisions. The research results can be applied in strategic and medium-term planning of the development of domestic tourism in Russian regions on the basis of their natural potential.
Valorization of the mineral and thermal water of Kosovo and Metohija in a function of health tourism is an important issue for recognizing the Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija (AP KiM) as a ...significant tourist destination. The article deals with various scientific approaches to the definition of the concept of «tourist destination» of foreign and Russian theory and practice of management, conceptual issues of tourist ...destination development. The characteristic features of destinations as a subject of competition in the tourist market are analyzed and highlighted. The key factors that provide the necessary level of competitiveness and the result of the formation of the tourist product of the destination are identified . It is proved that the most important prerequisites for ensuring a particular level of competitiveness of tourist destinations are the region’s endowment with factors of production, as well as the quality, cost and level of use of the latter. At the same time, the factors of production themselves are divided into two groups of different importance – basic or data from nature (land, climate, mineral resources, recreational resources, population, etc.) and developed, formed as a result of human activity (capital, technology, skilled labor, etc.). Moreover, factors related to technological and organizational innovations and the availability of highly qualified employees are becoming increasingly important. A model of using the cluster approach in the development of the destination is proposed, the basic elements of the tourist cluster, such as: the core of the cluster, suppliers of tourist services, enterprises of the necessary additional service, the main and accompanying infrastructure, promotion networks, business climate. The composition of the cluster allows you to determine the necessary measures to stimulate development at the level of the destination, in accordance with the economic specifics and available resources, while the determining factor will be the tourist specialization, and the composition of other components can be changed in the process of functioning.
The pension reform in Russia, launched in 2018, will have pronounced and multifaceted impacts on many industries in terms of production, consumption, marketing and employment. The development of ...segments of senior people's tourism, the features and specificity of economic psychology, motivation and consumption of tourist products by people of the third age, the increasing inclusion of elderly workers in the labor force in the tourism and hospitality industry as a new productive resource and other strategic considerations are becoming even more relevant to scientific and practical examinations. The article presents an attempt to summarize the specific risks and problems that the tourism sector will have to face in connection with the increases in the retirement age. Along with this, the opportunities and prospects that are opened up to the industry as a whole and the development of particular types of tourism and tourism sub-sectors are identified and analyzed under the condition that the increases in the retirement age are indeed accompanied, as it is planned, by overall improvements in the socioeconomic activity, productivity and paying capacity of senior citizens. Accordingly, pensioners and pre-pensioners will provide greater demand in the market of tourist services. By attracting elderly people to work positions in the tourism and hospitality industry, the threats of mass unemployment and precariousization of employment of pre-retirees would be partially partly mitigated. The paper also presents examples of international experiences and practices in the development of tourism of the older generation and its employment in tourism, which will become more relevant along with the implementation of the pension reform taking into account socio-economic and cultural specifics, formal and informal institutions of the Russian society in general and the regions in particular.
