    The paper deals with the chances for a borderline city as a result of crossborder collaboration, and with the possibilities of the development of economic regions. The most significant locational ... aspects which condition the developing of a regional centre will be presented, as well as the potential fields of collaboration in border areas. The article also describes some suggestions for the forming of regions as intermediate units between the State and the commune.
