  • Rivers do not need to be borders - Danube as the cultural link between Western Europe and the Black Sea
    Toplak, Cirila
In this article the author gives a concise account of the history of Danube, seen from the political and navigational perspective above all. A certain lackof globalised research in cultural history ... of the banks of one of the gratest European rivers is identified and a scientific concentration on the phenomenon of the Danubian culture as a whole is suggested. The definition of this phenomenon is based on the comparative analysis of the phenomenon of Mitteleuropa. The text is to be considered as a reflection on certain questions in cultural histor(iograph)y and an invitation to new research.
