  • Logical reasoning test score results of teachers in the first cycle of elementary school and their attitude towards this type of problems
    Marinič, Sara, 1992- ; Volk, Marina, 1985-
Mathematics is a means of gaining and developing abilities we lean on when thinking logically and making decision in our everyday lives. An effective implementation of mathematical learning content ... depends on adequately trained teachers whose knowledge refers to the content of mathematics as a school subject as well as to how they present the said content to their pupils. Based on this thesis, this article is to verify how successful teachers of the first cycle of elementary school are when it comes to solving logical reasoning problems and their view on including this type of tasks in their mathematics classes. We have discovered that younger teachers and teachers with a more positive attitude towards mathematics are more successful in solving logic problems. These teachers have stressed that being able to solve this type of problems is equivalent to having general knowledge and makes solving various problems in our lives easier. Teachers greatly affect learner success with their knowledge and attitude towards the subject, the reason why continuous revision of their disciplinary knowledge of mathematics as well as training in the field of teaching the subject should be encouraged.
