Spirituality in social work in a secularised context [Elektronski vir] : (in memory of Ivan Illich) = Spiritualitet i socialt arbejde i en sekulariseret kontekst : (I erinding om Ivan Illich)Riis, OleIn modern society, the social sector has been subject to secularisation and purposive rationalisation. While this process intends to provide more efficient services for people in need, it also ... contains the risk that social problems are dissociated from humans. Purposive rationality does not provide the values which direct social work. Spirituality has been and still is a source for recognising the human aspect of social problems. However, religion does not guarantee a humanly empowering approach to social problems. Different types of religion may also point to alienation or passivity. Thus, itis necessary to consider which type of spirituality that may protect and support a human spirit in social work.Source: Dialogue in praxis [Elektronski vir] : a social work international journal. - ISSN 2232-3953 (Vol. 2 (15), iss. 1/2 (24/25), 2013, str. 9-21)Type of material - e-articlePublish date - 2013Language - englishCOBISS.SI-ID - 4156005
