Theoretical background: Modern learning methods are in getting more and more popular in Slovenia and abroad, although there is still room for improvements in Slovenia. In area of emergency medical ...help, modern methods of learning can be very helpful, because medical staff must know how to treat all conditions, even though the encounter them only a few times in their career. We gathered information on modern methods of learning such as virtual patient, standard patient, simulator for learning hand skills and patient simulator. We also introduced simulation center, that is specially designed for learning with simulations. We assumed that medical workers are be more pleased with modern learning methods, than the classical methods of learning. Method: We gathered information by using search engines and bases PubMed, ProQuest and Cobib.si. We also performed a research at University health college Slovenj Gradec, where 13 medial workers attended the research. We asked them which method of learning do they prefer. Results: After we analyzed the results of our research, we found out, that medical worker prefer modern learning methods over the classic learning methods, because they can be more active in learning process if we use modern learning methods. Discussion: Using modern learning methods can improve study results, as well as our treatment of the patient in clinical environment.
