  • Technological solutions for transparent monitoring, citizen engagement, and achieving the sustainable development goals [Elektronski vir]
    Miri, Pouriya ...
In achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), technology is mostly referred to as support for faster processes and simplifications, data processing for decision-making or enhancing data ... exchange. The latter is particularly important for monitoring and evaluating achievements towards SDGs. Local authorities, as well as local communities, are more easily connected for the common good, and systems on the local level are smaller. Despite their diversity, they can be more easily connected with the help of technology. Local authorities are also implementing a series of measures to achieve SDGs, but in many cases, their actions are not ”recorded” in the evaluation of the achievement of SDGs. This is the first area where, on a local level, each measure, which would be linked to a particular SDG, could automatically record the progress of a particular target. The measures could be defined as micro-credential, which would then be generated in a common display for the wider community on the website. This would allow more transparent monitoring. On the other hand, with the help of various technological tools, the residents, who could participate in achieving the SDGs through various incentives (e.g. the obtained Micro-credential), would be encouraged to achieve the SDGs. In the paper, we would like to present some possible technology cases, which can serve as support for such processes: simplification of certification, data exchange, gateways, data management, and digital identity.
