Oltreoceano: Rivista sulle migrazioni, 2021 17Journal Article
The “Merica”The author divides the story of his “Merica” into two passages: the first is inspired by the suggestions arising from the phenomenon of the vast migration that followed the completion of the unity of Italy; the second outlines the historical fascination generated by the memory of the great exploration journeys which, from the 15th century onwards, tried to name the unknown through their search for new geographies and knowledge across the oceans.
