    Extended description: If one hear the name of Vecsés, a small town southeast of Budapest, one immediately associates it with the sauerkraut (often called Vecsési káposzta), which Vecsés is deservedly famous for. The preparation of sauerkraut was introduced in Vecsés by Swabians (Germans) whose ancestors had been settled here in the second half of the 18th century. The production methods for making the best sauerkraut in Hungary are the same today, as they have been for generations. In this episode cabbage and sauerkraut, foods with endless possibilities for a meal, are the main ingredients of the menu prepared by local people in Vecsés. Recipes: Soup with black or white pudding, Cabbage pancakes, Stuffed flekni (made from potato dough, stuffed with pork meat), Cabbage and grape strudel, Carrot strudel, Strudel soup, Pasta with cabbage and beans.
