  • Surface activated recrystallization in steel sheets
    Jenko, Monika ...
Measurements of surface segregation of antimony and tin in non oriented electrical sheets were performed in ultra high vacuum in the temperature range from 400 to 850°C, using AEs, SAM, SEM and TDS ... surface analytical techniques. The saturated equilibrium surface segregation of antimony as well as of tin was measured at 750°C At T>800°C only the surface segregation of surface active element antimony or tin and crystallographic orientation of grains at the sheet surface. The grain boundary segregation of antimony was negligible and it can be concluded that the texture formation rich in (001) grains results from the effect of the orientation dependent surface segregation of antimony. This segregation causes differences in surface energy and the stability of different grains. Controlled antimony surface segregation promotes selective grain growth and improves the electrical properties of non oriented sheet.
