Comparison of results of fattening broilers by using anticoccidial drugs and live atenuated vaccine against coccidiosisVolk, Marko, veterinar, 1943-2019 ...The effect of fattening under the conditions of preventive vaccination againstcoccidiosis and use of coccidiostatics was investigated in a study on chickens. Both ways of prevention against ... coccidiosis and their influence on the health status and production results were investigated on Ross 308 chickens under controlled conditions in the test station. Chickens were devided in three test groups. Each group had 200 chickens devided in two separate boxes. Chickens of the B group were vaccinated on day 3 of life with the vaccine Livacox T administered via drinking water. Group C was given in feed coccidiostatic Kokcisan and group D coccidiostatic Diklavet. During the study, production parameters were recorded, after the OPG method (oocysts per gram faeces), parasitological analyses were carried out, in additional to constant monitoring of health statu of chickens. Parasitological findings in the group B confirmed the presence of oocysts of three species of Eimeria contained the vaccine Livacox T. On day 7 after the vaccination, oocysts were present in a smaller number, and between the third and fifth week of age (day 28 of the study), the oocysts count amounted to 30.000 per gram of faeces. In the group C and D, the parasitological finding was negative. The statistical analysis of production results between test groups did not show significant differences on the day 28 of the study. On the day 35, differences were found between the test groups; B group had the lowest body weight and significantly differed from the groups C and D. At the end of the study, the highest body weight was recorded in chickens of the group C (2248 g), followed by the groupB with 2135 g and the group D with 2058 g of average body weight. The statistical analysis of the obtained results shows significant differences between all three groups of chickens.Vir: Praxis veterinaria : časopis za veterinarsku medicinu i stočarsku proizvodnju = journal of veterinary medicine and animal production. - ISSN 0350-4441 (Letn. 54, št. 1/2, 2006, str. 61-69)Vrsta gradiva - članek, sestavni delLeto - 2006Jezik - angleškiCOBISS.SI-ID - 2447148
