    In order secure competitive advantage on the market the companies are compelled to use most recent concepts and technologies. Today we face the passage from the industrial to the informational age. ... In production systems the information flows are increasingly integrated. The modern information technology has brought about many benefits. However, mere collection and simple processing of information are no more sufficient. Companies need production systems which are able to understand the gained information and to learn. Such aims can be reached by introducing artificial intelligence into the manufacturing systems.
