  • A study of extraction of uranium from sulforic acid leach liquors by alkyl amines. 1, Equilibrium data with synthetic liquors

    Uranium was extracted from aqueous sulforic acid solutions in laboratory tests by 5 different commercial alkyl amines in petroleum. Amberlite LA-2 was used to study the factors affecting the ... extraction of uranium from synthetic leach liquors. An excess of sulfate ion and of free sulforic acid lowered the extraction significantly. Optimum pH for extraction was between 2 and 3. 4.8 ideal stages were calculated by McCabe-Thiele method for the extraction of uranium from synthetic leach liquor of pH 0.9 and sulfate ion concentration of 0.5 m.
