    ǂThe ǂsource loaction problem is not well solved especially for continuous sources of acoustic emission and vibrations. The paper describes intelligent loactor of acoustic emission sources. This ... adaptive instrument is capable to locate acoustic emission sources on complicated structures such as bands, sticks, plates, shells, pressure vessels, trusses etc. based on learning from examples. The most important element of the locator is a simulated neural network, which adapts to characteristics of sources and emitted signals on tested technical structure. The adaptation process is executed by a learning process during which several prototype sources are triggered on the tested construction. By a proper selection of the training set the accuracy of the locator performance which is required by industrial applications can be achieved.
