    This paper deals with the influence of fuels`s physical properties on the spray characteristics. Density, surface tension, viscosity and melting point of biodiesel and its blends with diesel were ... examined and compared to pure diesel fuel. The experiments were performed on a conventional injection system (engine MAN D2566 MUM). Injection characteristics, such as injection pressure, needle opening etc., were measured on the fuel injection system test bench. Simultaneously, the spray developments were recorded using a high-speed camera. Spray tip penetration, diameter and injection speed, as well as its shape, were analysed. The effect of different mixing ratios of biodiesel blended fuels at various high-pressure-pump camshaft speeds on spray characteristics were recorded.
