  • Use of information technology in textile industry - a case study

    In this paper the use of recent information technology and artificial intelligence methods to support the design and production of textiles is presented. Some of the areas in the textile and clothing ... industry, where good achievements of using information technology and artificial intelligence have been detected, are described. A case study of implementation of these methods in the cotton spun yarn technology is given. Some experiences in the development and usage of a new method for prediction of the most important quality properties of yarns, made from cotton mixture, are presented. The system for the automatic induction of regerssion trees RETIS has been used to predict the most important properties of yarns, spun from different cotton mixtures, before they are actually brought into the manufacturing process.
