  • Pomen otrokovega vida = The significance of child's vision

    The article deals with the ocular and visual development in a child and its intimate connection with the central nervous system function. The possibilities of child's visual acuity determination and ... its evaluation are described. The etiology of visual impairment in our country are mostly prenatal - genetic and perinatal - hypoxia; which has an epidemiological importance. The prevalence of visual impairment in mentally retarded and deaf is high. The presented WHO classification of blindness and viusal impairment is also used by us. The importance of child's vision and the knowledge of visual impairment are mainly dealing with the child's capability for schoolingand employment.
