  • Vzroki smrti zaradi alkohola na Dolenjskem v primerjavi z ostalo Slovenijo = Causes of death attributable to alcohol in Dolenjska in comparison with other parts of Slovenia

    Dolenjska is a region with well developed viniculture and spirits production. Research of causes of death directly or indirectly attributable to alcohol in Dolenjska and in the rest of Slovenia was ... performed. Data source on mortality (1991-1996) has been the national statistics of the Institute of Public healthof the Republic of Slovenia. Mortality rate was considered for three agegroups 20-4.4, 45-64 and 65 years and more, for each gender separately. Theresults of the research point out the most important statistical differencebetween Dolenjska and the rest of Slovenia for men in the age group 45-64 years. The younger and the older group of men and the older group of women show minor differences. Alcohol policy on the national level must be based upon the prevention of drinking alcohol among young people, treatment ofalcoholics and upon the specifity of some regions, where people produce alcohol drinks by themselves.
