    Background. Efficiency of treatment for children with solid tumors with metastases at presentation or with recurrent disease is rather had with conventional treatment. More intensive treatment ... modalities with autologous stem cell rescue is in spotlight of current research. We report our experiences in autologous bone marrow transplantation in treatment of solid malignancies in four patients. Conclusions. Although almost 20 years after first attempts, except in treatment of metastatic neuroblastoma, superiority of this treatment in children with solid malignancies with had prognostic features is still not convincingly proved.
