    The prevalence of psoriasis in the developed countries is approximately 2%. Disease is present in different forms. Due to its resistance to medication andits long term duration psoriasis seriously ... affects the quality of life. An article presents the therapy of psoriasis with special highlight on anthralines. Anthralin has been successfully used as a antipsoriatic drug for decades but its mechanism of biological effect has not been explained yet. Research has been obstructed due to unexplained pathogenesis of psoriasis and the fact that the disease is known only in humans. Many studies and articles that try to shed light on the mechanism of the biological effect of anthralinehave been published. Authors in most recent publications agree that the formation of 10-anthranil radical is crucial for the biological effect. The opinions is devided whether the 10-anthranil radical itself or its consequently formed se condary radicals i.e. active oxygen species are active.
