Abstract This study integrates aerial LiDAR data and 2D cartographic information to rapidly develop an advanced non‐photorealistic rendering (NPR) model for rural environment analysis. The focus is ...enhancing decision support in crises and assessing potential hazards in these territories. The methodology involves capturing LiDAR data from high altitudes and classifying it as Ground, Vegetation, and Buildings. The integration of this data with 2D cartographic information, augmented with attribute data from a GIS database, is achieved through a semi‐automatic process. This process facilitates the creation of detailed 3D models, providing a more nuanced, visually and semantically rich representation of the rural landscape. The study underscores the benefits of combining LiDAR, photogrammetric, and cartographic data for creating accurate and detailed models of the rural environment, which are crucial for effective decision‐making and threat assessment.
The domestic agro-food sector has an important role in economic development and in overall GDP growth. The concept of Agriculture 4.0 that integrates the use of information-communication technologies ...presents a direction in which the domestic agriculture sector should focus. Additionally, besides conducting business within the frameworks of Agriculture 4.0, the standardization of processes in the agro-food sector can also contribute to achieving competitiveness on the globalized market. In this paper the importance and number of ISO standards are investigated. In addition, factors and indicators that characterize Agriculture 4.0 are analysed. Based on the collected and analysed data, a unified competitiveness factor (UCF) is calculated for the period from 2017 to 2020. The UCF provides and overview on the potential competitiveness of the domestic agro-food sector. The paper contributes to the existing body of literature as it managed to provide a strong basis for future research in this domain.
In this paper the influence of product innovation and development on business performance and competitiveness in small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises is addressed. The research was ...conducted via survey and it included over 2200 manufacturing enterprises from Serbia. The number of returned and usable surveys was 132 (5.98% return rate). The regression model included product development and innovation as two important engineering endeavours and business performance and competitiveness. Additionally, product quality, quality management system (QMS) and human resource management (HRM) were included in the data analysis. The results indicate that the observed relationships between the measured constructs are different, and they depend on how many employees the enterprise has. This paper contributes to the existing body of literature, provides a solid basis for future research in this domain, and other researchers and managers can use this paper as an insight to the relationships between important business metrics.
In this paper the impact and predictive effects of knowledge management on financial performance are analysed. The research also includes an analysis of the moderating effects of two moderators ...(National Origin and Enterprise Size) and their relationship. The data was gathered by interviewing 520 managers from manufacturing companies operating in Serbia. The most important conclusions of the research are: 1. High levels of knowledge management positively influence business performance, quality and competitiveness. 2. Financial performance is mainly influenced by the dimensions connected to the effects of knowledge management regarding its implementation and protection and the acquisition of competitive advantages. 3. Knowledge management strongly influences the market aspects of business, but also the increase of fixed assets. 4. Knowledge management has a slightly greater impact on financial performance in foreign enterprises (operating in Serbia) compared to domestic (Serbian) enterprises. The situation is similar when comparing medium and large enterprises (a higher impact) with small enterprises (a smaller impact). 5. The greatest effects are achieved when an effective organizational structure is in place, when the organization protects its knowledge, when it manages to materialize the knowledge gathered in the form of the efficient application of knowledge.
The domestic agribusiness sector has an important role in economic development and in economic growth. The goal of the paper is to analyze potential influencing factors on sustainable agribusiness. ...The research methodology included qualitative correlation and causation analysis, categorization and deduction. Datasets from credible sources were analyzed a Sustainable Agribusiness Trend Index (SATI) model was developed. Through analyzing the existing body of literature, analyzing previous and newest available data in the domain of agriculture and macro-economic indicators, as well through the developed SATI model, potential future trends in the domain of sustainable agribusiness are noted. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that modern agribusiness requires a multi-aspect approach. Factors such as renewable water sources, human development index, GPD growth and many other present integral parts of sustainable agribusiness development.
Vegetation plays an active role in ecosystem dynamics, and monitoring its patterns and changes is vital for effective environmental resource management. This study explores the possibility of machine ...learning techniques and remote sensing data to improve the accuracy of forest detection. The research focuses on the southeastern part of the Republic of Serbia as a case study area, using Sentinel-2 multispectral bands. The study employs publicly accessible satellite data and incorporates different vegetation indices to improve classification accuracy. The main objective is to examine the practicability of expanding the input parameters for forest detection using a machine learning approach. The classification process is performed by employing support vector machines (SVM) algorithm and utilising the SVM module in the scikit-learn package. The results demonstrate that including vegetation indices alongside the multispectral bands significantly improves the accuracy of vegetation detection. A comprehensive assessment reveals an overall classification accuracy of up to 99.01% when the selected vegetation indices (MCARI, RENDVI, NDI45, GNDVI, NDII) are combined with the Sentinel-2 bands. This research highlights the potential of machine learning and remote sensing in forest detection and monitoring. The findings underscore the importance of incorporating vegetation indices to enhance classification accuracy using the Python programming language. The study’s outcomes provide valuable insights for environmental resource management and decision-making processes, particularly in regions with diverse forest ecosystems.
Useful and important information for the spatial, ecological, and many other changes in the living environment may be obtained using the analysis of historical aerial photography, with comparison to ...contemporary imagery. This method provides the ability to determine the state of elements of the space over a long period, encompassing the time when it was not possible to acquire the data from satellite imagery or some other contemporary sources. Aerial images are suitable for mapping spatial phenomena with relatively limited spatial distribution because they possess a high level of details and low spatial coverage. With a comparative analysis of aerial imagery from the past, contemporary aerial imagery, and other sources of aerial imagery, we can obtain information about the nature and trends of the observed phenomena as well as directions of future actions, considering changes detected in the environment, whether they are preventive or corrective in nature. This paper gives the methodological framework for the appliance of the existing knowledge from various fields, intending to use historical aerial photography for monitoring of environmental changes of the Bovan Lake in Eastern Serbia.
The analysis of a new product realization from the view of customer requirements and a relevant technical response of a company is presented in this paper. Two types of tools are used: QFD and AHP. ...HOQ within QFD is used for modeling technical requirements on the basis of defined customer demands. AHP serves as an addition in the process of technical requirements definition, it is used as a strategy for fast response to customer requirements. A comparison between leading foreign and domestic producers of transmitters has also been presented. HOQ realization on the example of intelligent pressure transmitter has shown that design parameters were defined. The implementation of AHP methodology has pointed at the significance of modular architecture for transmitter realization. Original contribution of this work is reflected in QFD analysis solutions - customer requirements were satisfied by giving technical characteristics with the aim of a new product realization.
The mutual relationship between spatial and development planning at the local level is a very current topic that has concrete consequences for development processes in local government units in the ...territory of Republika Srpska (RS). Although it is still unregulated from the legislative point of view, local development planning is much more present in practice, which is primarily manifested in the almost complete coverage of the territory of the RS by local development strategies. The connection of these documents to spatial and urban plans has not been treated in an appropriate way, which leads to a certain degree of their mutual inconsistency. The basic hypothesis of this paper arises from this statement, and that is that the lack of a clearly defined connection with spatial planning in the methodology of drafting local development documents leads to the inconsistency of these documents as the final result. As an auxiliary hypothesis, the assumption will be investigated that a large discrepancy in the coverage of the territory of the Republika Srpska between local development strategies and spatial plans of local government units also contributed to this inconsistency.

On the theoretical basis of foreign research by eminent authors from various parts of the world, companies that achieve competitiveness on a global scale by applying TQM create valuable experience in studying this problem. The aim of the work is to present the impact of Total Quality Management on company performance and competitiveness by analyzing selected existing literature. The work is dedicated to the development and models of TQM, describing the Quality Management System, standardization and implementation effects. TQM's impact on leadership, human resources, organizational and business performance in creating and sustainable competitiveness has been made. At the end of the work, a table view of the selected literature from 2015 to 2020 was given.
