Purpose: Like Alzheimer's disease, a disease of the aging world, and metastasis in cancer, it is very important to elucidate the etiology of Type 2 diabetes, which causes tissue and organ damage by ...systematically spreading throughout. In this study, we aimed to examine whether markers used as biomarkers in Alzheimer's pathogenesis are effective in the pathogenesis of diabetes.
Materials and Methods: In our study, 30 type 2 diabetics, 30 type 2 diabetics individuals with the risk of dementia as a result of mini-mental test, and 28 healthy individuals aged 50-70 years were included, and brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), dual-specificity tyrosine-regulated kinase 1 (DYRK1A), Tau, fatty acid binding proteins 7 (FABP7) levels were measured from plasma samples.
Results: There was a significant difference between the diabetes group with a high risk of dementia (MMSE < 24) and the other groups in Tau, and FABP7 levels, but no significant differences were found in BDNF and DYRK1A levels.
Conclusion: These biomarkers might be used to diagnose Alzheimer's disease in patients with T2D and at risk of dementia before resorting to other more expensive and invasive diagnostic methods.
Amaç: Yaşlanan dünyanın bir hastalığı olan, Alzheimer hastalığı ve kanserdeki metastaz gibi, sistematik bir şekilde yayılarak doku ve organ hasarına neden olan Tip 2 diyabetin, etiyolojisinin aydınlatılması çok önemlidir. Bu çalışmada Alzheimer patogenezinde biyomarker olarak kullanılan belirteçlerin, diyabet patogenezinde etkili olup olmadığını incelemeyi amaçladık.
Gereç ve Yöntem: Çalışmamıza, 30 tip 2 diyabetli, minimental test sonucu demans riski taşıyan 30 tip 2 diyabetli birey ve 50-70 yaş arası 28 sağlıklı birey dahil edilerek plazma örneklerinden, beyin kaynaklı nörotrofik faktör (BDNF), dual-specificity tyrosine-regulated kinase 1 (DYRK1A), Tau, fatty acid binding proteins 7 (FABP7) düzeyleri ölçüldü.
Bulgular: Demans riski yüksek olan diyabet grubu (MMSE < 24) ile diğer gruplar arasında Tau ve FABP7 düzeylerinde anlamlı bir fark bulunurken DYRK1A ve BDNF düzeylerinde anlamlı bir fark bulunmamıştır.
Sonuç: Bu biyobelirteçler T2D'li ve demans riski taşıyan hastalarda daha pahalı ve invaziv tanı yöntemlerine başvurmadan önce Alzheimer hastalığını teşhis etmek için kullanılabilir.
Broomrape is one of the most important biotic stresses causing serious yield reductions in sunflower. Control of this parasitic plant is difficult and physical and chemical strategies are usually ...insufficient. Therefore, introduction of genetic resistance to broomrape in sunflower is a key breeding goal. Breeding efforts on broomrape resistance have been conducted for decades, however, new broomrape races, such as race F, have emerged and rapidly evolved to be more aggressive and devastating. Although a few quantitative trait loci (QTLs) were identified for race F resistance, none of these loci are suitable for marker assisted selection because of their small phenotypic effects. In the present study, three major QTLs for broomrape race F resistance were identified on LG7, LG11 and LG12 using a high density SNP map constructed with the genotyping by sequencing approach in an intraspecific F2 population. The population consisted of 300 individuals derived from a cross between susceptible Helianthus annuus cv. RHA 436 as the recipient parent and resistant H. annuus cv. H08 M1 as the donor parent. Breeder-friendly SNP-based cleaved amplified polymorphic sequence markers were developed for the QTLs. The QTLs and CAPS markers identified in this study will be valuable molecular genetic tools for sunflower breeding.
The study aims to reveal the perceived organizational support (POS) and job satisfaction (JS) levels of firefighters and to determine whether there is a relationship between them. A questionnaire was ...applied to 426 firefighters working in Turkey using convenience and snowball sampling methods. As a result of the study, POS was found to be at medium level and JS was found to be above average. It was found that there was both a positive relationship between POS and JS and that POS had a significant positive effect on JS. Significant differences were found in terms of marital status, salary adequacy, age, and education in terms of POS, while no difference was found in terms of years of experience variables. In terms of JS, a significant difference was found in terms of salary adequacy and educational status variables, while no difference was found in terms of marital status, age, and years of experience variables.
Çalışma, itfaiyecilerin algılanan örgütsel destek (AÖD) ve iş tatmini (İT) düzeylerini ortaya koymayı ve aralarında bir ilişki olup olmadığını belirlemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Türkiye'de çalışan 426 itfaiyeciye kolayda ve kartopu örnekleme yöntemleri kullanılarak anket uygulanmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda, AÖD orta düzeyde, İT ise ortalamanın üzerinde bulunmuştur. AÖD ile İT arasında hem pozitif bir ilişki olduğu hem de POS'un İT üzerinde anlamlı pozitif bir etkisi olduğu bulunmuştur. AÖD açısından medeni durum, maaş yeterliliği, yaş, eğitim durumunda anlamlı farklılıklar tespit edilmişken, deneyim yılı değişkenleri açısından farklılık tespit edilmedi. İT açısından maaş yeterliliği ve eğitim durumu değişkenleri açısından anlamlı farklılık tespit edilmişken, medeni durum, yaş, deneyim yılı değişkenleri açısından farklılık tespit edilmedi.

In the study, the survey was form prepared by utilizing disaster preparedness and disaster awareness scales were applied via face-to-face interaction to the students by simple random sampling method. As a result, it was found that the variables of gender and disaster experience didn’t on affect disaster awareness and preparedness. Variables such as disaster education, the program (Disaster-related; Others), and individuals who have experienced a disaster in their immediate environment (such as family, relatives, and friends) significantly affect disaster awareness and preparedness. It was also found that there is a positive relationship between disaster awareness and disaster preparedness and disaster awareness has a low-level significant effect on disaster preparedness.

This study proposes the Chebyshev Wavelet Colocation method for solving a class of rth-order Boundary-Value Problems (BVPs) with nonlocal boundary conditions. This method is an extension of the ...Chebyshev wavelet method to the linear and nonlinear BVPs with a class of nonlocal boundary conditions. In this study, the method is tested on second and fourth-order BVPs and approximate solutions are compared with the existing methods in the literature and analytical solutions. The proposed method has promising results in terms of the accuracy.
Aim: Cohort studies have shown that syncope is one in four of the initial symptoms of acute pulmonary embolism. However, one in six patients who visit the emergency room for their first syncopal ...attack has acute pulmonary embolism. Additionally, the etiological relationship between acute pulmonary embolism and the possible prognostic impact of syncope on the early clinical course of a patient with acute pulmonary embolism remains unclear. Our research sought to detect the presence of pulmonary embolism and its contributing factors in syncope patients who were admitted to the emergency room.
Material and Method: The study comprised 215 individuals who had syncope and were transported by ambulance to the emergency department between January 2020 and January 2021. The age bracket for inclusion was 18 to 75, and the presence of solitary syncope, regardless of its cause, was required. Additionally, there had to be no clinical signs of shock or hypotension, and/or absence of right ventricular dysfunction at presentation.
Results: A total of 215 patients were included in the study. The mean age was 57 years and 64% of the patients were female. Pulmonary CT angiography was performed in 37 of the patients. Ventilation-perfusion examination was performed on 2 patients. Pulmonary embolism was confirmed in 14 patients, including a lower segment pulmonary embolism. Pulmonary embolism was diagnosed in 7 of 17 patients with no history of active cancer and a previous history of thromboembolism. The prevalence of pulmonary embolism was similar as predicted by the Wells score or Pulmonary Embolism Rule–Out Criteria in patients with low and moderate clinical probability.
Conclusion: The results of this study confirm that pulmonary embolism is rarely found in patients admitted to the emergency department with syncope. Althoughpulmonary embolismshould be considered as a differential diagnosis, it does not need to be evaluated in all patients. Otherwise, assessment can lead to false positive results and overtreatment, thereby increasing adverse events and healthcare costs.

The governing nonlinear PDEs may be turned into the nonlinear ODEs by similarity transformation. These nonlinear equations are turned into the set of linear ODEs by quasilinearization technique. The effective thermal conductivity and the effective dynamic viscosity of nanofluids have been taken as models of Maxwell–Garnetts and Brinkman. The effects of physical parameters have been displayed by graphs and tables.

This paper proposes operational matrix of rth integration of Chebyshev wavelets. A general procedure of this matrix is given. Operational matrix of rth integration is taken as rth power of operational matrix of first integration in literature. But, this study removes this disadvantage of Chebyshev wavelets method. Free vibration problems of non-uniform Euler–Bernoulli beam under various supporting conditions are investigated by using Chebyshev Wavelet Collocation Method. The proposed method is based on the approximation by the truncated Chebyshev wavelet series. A homogeneous system of linear algebraic equations has been obtained by using the Chebyshev collocation points. The determinant of coefficients matrix is equated to the zero for nontrivial solution of homogeneous system of linear algebraic equations. Hence, we can obtain ith natural frequencies of the beam and the coefficients of the approximate solution of Chebyshev wavelet series that satisfied differential equation and boundary conditions. Mode shapes functions corresponding to the natural frequencies can be obtained by normalizing of approximate solutions. The computed results well fit with the analytical and numerical results as in the literature. These calculations demonstrate that the accuracy of the Chebyshev wavelet collocation method is quite good even for small number of grid points.
