Thus, the study aimed to explore the hidden relationship of job stress, motivation and job performance in Higher Educational Institutions operating in Sindh, Pakistan. This research is deductive in nature, with empirical approach and has been conducted through cross sectional survey by using structured tool to collect quantitative data. A sample of 155 faculty members working in higher educational universities in Sindh Province has been selected on convenience sampling basis from three public universities. The data analysis and findings provides insights and we may conclude that overall faculty working in public universities operating in Sindh report less stress level in context of teaching, but they do take stress for research and administrative activities. Their job performance is not affected by the stress level at workplace. Moreover, the relationship between motivation and stress has been found negative, job stress and motivation factors are found significant to the performance of the faculty.
Educational institutes are valuable assets of any nation. Education in general and higher education (HE) in particular is very important for socioeconomic growth of a country. Higher Education has ...different dimensions; it supplies human recourses, enhances scientific and technological advancement, provide new opportunities for research and development. Quality is an essentially required element at tertiary level educational institutions all over the world to promote excellence and bring the best practices. Universities have become more competitive and students and parents are in less compromising mood. They evaluate universities from different perspectives like fee structure, faculty, infrastructure and environment etc. The increasing demand of the stake holders has posed further challenges for the institutions to bring changes in the program designs, curricula, and adopt best practices available in that domain. This study attempts to evaluate the contribution of internal management policies to the higher education excellence. The study is cross-sectional and quantitative in nature. A structured survey is conducted to capture the perception of faculty and students' perception studying at post-graduate and PhD levels at Karachi. This survey has been considered as a quality lens through which effects of quality management has been analyzed. The data is collected by using quota sampling from private sector universities only, owing to the varied nature of internal management of these universities. The measurement tool is based on five-point Likert scale and comprises of two major subscales; quality management activities (QMA) and attention to quality aspects (AQA) taken as independent scales; whereas higher education excellence (HE) is considered as dependent variable. The data are coded and analyzed through SPSS software. It is concluded that overall perception of teachers and students for internal quality management and its contribution towards higher education excellence is positive. However, this varies among students and faculty while a variation is also found among various universities considered under this study.
This research examines how Internet finance and challenges (IFC) affect Oman’s banking sector’s financial inclusion (FIN). This research also examines the mediating function of digital literacy (DL) ...and financial literacy (FL). The conceptual model hypothesis was tested using a questionnaire with study construct items. Financial services and customers at selected Oman banks were sampled using purposive sampling. To test model fitness and derive hypothesis outcomes, AMOS was used to analyze these data using PLS-SEM. The IFC and FIN of financial services users were positively and significantly associated, and DL and FL mediated this connection. This research highlighted DL and FL as the mediating mechanism, adding to the literature on IFC and FIN. FIN must address Internet finance issues, and the government must create regulations to improve financial service consumers’ DL and FL to boost FIN in Oman. This research is innovative and distinctive since it emphasizes the necessity of technological literacy to make it easier for banks and other financial institutions to deliver financial services to the Sultanate of Oman.
Purpose>The purpose of this paper is of twofold: first, to empirically examine the short-run and long-run impact of macroeconomic variables such as industrial production, foreign direct investment ...(FDI), trade balance (TB), exchange rate, interest rate (IR) and consumer price index (CPI) on stock prices (SP) of KSE-100 index; and second, to examine whether this relationship changes as a result of the financial crisis.Design/methodology/approach>This study uses an autoregressive distributed lag model by using the full sample period data from 1997Q3 to 2018Q2 and the post-crisis period data from 2008Q3 to 2018Q2. Moreover, it uses variance decomposition analysis to examine the importance of each variable in explaining SP.Findings>The findings of the full sample period indicate that in the long run, TB, exchange rate and IR negatively affect SP whereas CPI and industrial production positively affect SP. However, the post-crisis period data indicate that only CPI positively affects the SP in the long run. Finally, variance decomposition analysis indicates 30 percent variance in SP is explained by its own shock.Practical implications>The study findings suggest that macroeconomic variables have a significant role and can be considered important for taking investment and/or policy decisions. Especially, Governments and other regulators may need to take measures to increase the TB since it can help to increase the performance of the Pakistani stock market. Furthermore, investors may consider that findings change when the financial crisis has been taken into consideration.Originality/value>This study uses two additional variables, namely FDI and TB by using the robust technique in the context of emerging countries like Pakistan. Furthermore, it takes into account the impact of the financial crisis on the underlying variables.
Purpose
Recent literature has shifted to examining whether exchange rate volatility symmetrically or asymmetrically affects the trade flows. This study aims to extend the existing literature by ...examining the effects of extremely large to extremely small changes in exchange rate volatility series on the US imports from Brazil, India, Mexico and South Africa.
Design/methodology/approach
For examining the effects of extreme changes, multiple threshold nonlinear autoregressive distributed lag (MTNARDL) model is used and the exchange rate volatility series is divided into quintiles and deciles. It helps to examine the effects of each quintile/decile of exchange rate volatility series on the US imports.
Findings
Findings indicate that the effects of extremely large changes in the exchange rate volatility series significantly differ from the effects of extremely small changes in the exchange rate volatility series on the US imports.
Practical implications
The findings of this study are very important. These findings help to consider the effect of extreme changes before devising policies related to trade flows.
Originality/value
This study mainly focuses on US imports from Brazil, India, Mexico and South Africa. In addition, this study extends the existing literature by using a novel methodology called MTNARDL model.

A total of 583 Saudi manufacturing contract workers were studied. IBM SPSS Amos was used to analyse the data from model testing. Green training improves sustainable business advantage, according to the study. The study suggests that green supply chain practices mediate this relationship. Green training improves operational efficiency, resource use, and environmental performance. Green training can be applied to green supply chain practices, resulting in measurable and sustainable results. This study examines green training, recruitment, sustainable business advantage, and green supply chain practices to improve sustainability management understanding. These insights help organisations align their strategies with environmental sustainability, giving them a competitive edge in the 21st century’s ever-changing business environment.
