This study aims to understand the feelings of newly converted Muslims when they narrated their pre- and post-conversion using the Machine Learning model and qualitative approach. The data set ...analyzed in this paper comes from in-depth interviews with 12 mualaf/ newly converted Muslims from various backgrounds. All recorded interviews were transcribed and filtered to remove any unnecessary or misaligned data to ensure that the data was fully aligned with the interview questions. To analyze emotional changes, we utilize natural language processing (NLP) algorithms, which enable us to extract and interpret emotional content from textual data sources, such as personal narratives. The analysis was performed in Google Colab and utilizing XLM-EMO, a fine-tuned multilingual emotion detection model that detects joy, anger, fear, and sadness emotions from text. The model was chosen because it supports Bahasa, as our interview was conducted in Bahasa. Furthermore, the model also has the best accuracy amongst its competitors, namely LS-EMO and UJ-Combi. The model also has great performance, with the overall average Macro-F1s for XLM-RoBERTa-large, XLM-RoBERTa-base, and XLM-Twitter-base are .86, .81, and .84. Furthermore, two psychologists compared emotion detection results from the XLM-EMO model to the raw input data, and an inductive content analysis was performed. This approach allowed us to identify the reasoning behind the emotions deemed pertinent and intriguing for our investigation. This study showed that Sadness is the most dominant emotion, constituting 46.67% of the total emotions in the pre-conversion context. On the other hand, joy emerges as the most dominant, constituting a substantial proportion of 57.73% among the emotions analyzed from post-conversion emotions data. Understanding the positive impact of religious conversion on emotions may inform mental health interventions and incorporate spiritual or religious elements into therapeutic approaches for individuals struggling with emotional issues, guiding individuals undergoing religious conversion and emphasizing the potential emotional benefits.
The development of information technology (IT) has an essential role in education today. Most teachers in Indonesia utilize the traditional method rather than the advancement of IT. Through digital ...media, the social science learning process becomes fascinating, improves students' skills, and is more engaging. However, implementing Information Technology-based Learning (ITBL) takes a lot of work. It comes with tremendous challenges that should be addressed carefully. Many previous studies explain the feasibility of the media, its effectiveness, and the advantages of using IT-based learning media. However, they still need to present the challenges in IT-based social science learning, even more so in the Indonesian context. Given the vast landscape of ITBL in Indonesia, a case study approach could entail extensive fieldwork, data collection, and data analysis. Therefore, A literature review can be carried out with less resource investment, making it a pragmatic choice for researchers with limited time and resources. This research aims to discover the challenges of students, teachers, and educational institutions in IT-based social science learning in the Indonesian context. The search protocol is based on the P.R.I.S.M.A. (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analysis). This systematic literature review results were obtained from 315 articles discussing the challenges of IT-based social science learning published from 2018 until 2022. This research reveals that most challenges students face are internal/self-challenges. For instance, there needs to be more self-regulation and necessary digital literation. On the other hand, teachers’ most significant challenge is their lack of skills and experience in implementing IT-based learning media and their inability to operate complex software, even if they have poor digital literacy. The need for facilities and technological training presents challenges for institutions. The need to procure IT infrastructure is due to the difficulty of reaching certain areas (the terrain) in Indonesia. The challenges encountered by students, teachers, and educational institutions are not exclusive to any particular group and extend beyond their respective domains. Addressing the multi-dimensional challenges would be more efficient. The poor digital literacy challenges occurred in other nations, too. This particular challenge can be solved through instructional training. Moreover, the Indonesian government offers numerous free digital training programs for individuals or institutions called “Digitalent.”

Cloud computing is a new paradigm that provides end users with a secure, personalized, dynamic computing environment with guaranteed service quality. One popular solution is Google cloud firestore, a ...global-scale not only structured query language (NoSQL) document database for mobile and web apps. Recent research on cloud-based NoSQL databases often discusses the difference between them and SQL databases and their performance. However, using cloud-based NoSQL databases such as firestore is tricky without any scientific comparison methodology, and it needs analysis of how its particular systems work. This study aims to discover what is the best design that could be implemented to optimize data read cost, response size, and time regarding the cloud firestore database. In this study, we develop a grade point average (GPA)-report mocking application to assess data read based on our institution’s needs. This application consists of three functions. Add the graduated GPA and students’ names, and view the ten highest GPAs, GPA average, and total graduated students. The finding indicates that aggregating data on the client side or utilizing the Google cloud function trigger, then updating aggregation data in one transaction significantly reduces document read count (cost), response size, and time.
