Today, due to the flexibility of work, the workplace is no longer just a place with four walls and a desk, and barriers such as time and space have been overcome by implementing flexible ways of ...working offered to employees. In Romania, changes in the labor market are obvious. If 10-15 years ago the standard/traditional employment model was the basic element of labor relations, and flexibility seemed an exotic and distant concept, nowadays labor flexibility has become a reality that no one can deny. Moreover, flexibility in labor relations has become a necessity. The employer is required to find and retain those employees who professionally meet the requirements of the job. The currency of exchange is that employees have their own requirements and needs to which the employer must adapt. The main objective of the research study is to determine how managers implement the main forms of flexible work.
Corporate governance is a multi-level approach in the system of relations between interest groups (employees, managers, shareholders, regulators, the general public, the media) and corporate ...governance includes the relationships that are established between the Board of Directors and the interested parts, internal or external. Corporate governance refers to how the rights and responsibilities between the categories of participants the work of the organization are divided, while also specifying how decisions are made about the company's activity, how to define the strategic objectives, how to reach them and how to monitor financial performance. Currently, all organizations and most countries are concerned about the implementation of corporate governance principles.
According to the principles of corporate governance in public organizations, set up by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development based on the most advanced legislative standards and ...best practices of corporations, it was necessary to create legislative measures to guarantee the objectivity and transparency when the management and the members of the administration bodies are elected, to guarantee both professionalism and responsibility in the management decisions, additional mechanisms for the rights of minority shareholders and increased transparency to the public both in the activity of the state companies and in the shareholding policy of the Romanian state. This research is aimed to highlight the importance of the legislative support in improving the corporate governance for public organizations and in stopping the perpetuation of the dysfunctionalities in the activity of the independent administrations and companies owned in majority or in full by the state, which used to impede the ability of these entities to influence the balance of the state budget.

A computerized environment may provide auditors with the opportunity for additional processing, by providing the information requested in formats required by the auditor, for interpretation or use as ...input for specialized computer-assisted audit programs. This way of working contributes to increasing the performance in performing background tests, by applying automated analytical procedures, as well as the performance of audit procedures, by using computer-assisted audit techniques. The audit of IT projects is an evaluation of IT systems in terms of optimizing the management of available IT resources (data, applications, technologies, facilities, human resources, etc.), in order to achieve the entity’s objectives, by ensuring specific criteria: efficiency, confidentiality, integrity , availability, operational safety and compliance with a frame of reference (standards, good practices, legislative framework). The main objective is to provide auditors with consistent information about the possibility of correlating the stages of the audit mission related to IT projects.
"The International Conferences on Economics and Social Sciences (ICESS)organized by Bucharest University of Economic Studies provide an opportunity for all those interested in Economics and Social ...Sciences to discuss and exchange research ideas. The papers presented at the Conference are available online in the Conference Proceedings series (ISSN 2704-6524): Volume 2019 Collaborative Research for Excellence in Economics and Social Sciences, ISBN 9788366675322 Volume 2020 Innovative Models to Revive the Global Economy, ISBN 9788395815072 Volume 2021 Resilience and Economic Intelligence Through Digitalization and Big Data Analytics, ISBN 9788366675704 During 2020, leaders found themselves at a historic crossroads, taking decisions under remarkable pressures and uncertainties. However, windows of opportunity are being created to shape the economic recovery, restore the health of the environment, develop sustainable business models, strengthen regional development, revitalize global cooperation, harness Industry 4.0, and redesign the social contracts, skills, and jobs. This conference provides an opportunity for all those interested in Economics and Social Sciences to discuss and exchange research ideas especially in the light of recent crisis determined by COVID-19. We welcome both empirical and theoretical work that is broadly consistent with the conference’ general theme. Especially, researchers, PhD students and practitioners are invited to submit papers on the topics related to new models in entrepreneurship and innovation, sustainability and education, data science and digitalization, marketing and finance etc. that will develop innovative instruments for countries, businesses and education to revive after the crisis."
The adhesive bonds that ensure the appropriate mechanical properties for metal joining imply the surface chemical and wetting modification characteristics of the substrates. In this work, ...matrix-assisted pulsed laser evaporation (MAPLE) was used for the surface modification of Al via the deposition of two chemical compounds, polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and triethanolamine (TEA), from frozen aqueous solutions. The deposition of the TEA and PVA layers was evidenced by FT-IR, SEM, and AFM analysis. The contact angle measurements evidenced the change in the hydrophilicity of the surface and surface free energies. The performance of the commercial silyl-based polymer adhesive Bison Max Repair Extreme Adhesive
was evaluated by tensile strength measurements. This method led to a change in tensile strength of 54.22% in the case of Al-TEA and 36.34% for Al-PVA compared with the control. This study gives preliminary insights into using MAPLE, for the first time in adhesive applications, as a pretreatment method for Al plates for adhesive bonding reinforcement.
Mega sport events were among the very few types of events still attracting tourists during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic and represented an exceptionally attractive tourism opportunity for Bucharest ...through the matches scheduled for the UEFA 2020 championship. Motivated by the novelty of the event which was organized for the first time in the Romanian capital city and motivated by the exceptionally restrictive context imposed by the sanitary crisis, the aim of this study was to analyze domestic tourist participation in and satisfaction with this event. An extended survey focusing on the autochthonous participants was applied to gather data and then further computed using SPSS software through crosstabulations and associated statistical analysis adapted for nominal and ordinal variables. The main results emphasize a large participation of Romanian football supporters who came specifically for the event. Most of them expressed dissatisfaction with souvenir, food and drink products sold within the stadium area but were satisfied with the COVID-19 measures and their costs. Supporters coming from rural areas opted for VFR accommodations while retirees and elderly supporters preferred hotels. Occupation and age were the main variables determining accommodation preferences as well as satisfaction with souvenir prices. These options may be valuable input for future adapted marketing strategies for sport event tourism in Romania. Lacking important urban tourist attractions and competing with other mature European urban destinations, mega sport events may represent an opportunity for autochthonous large cities to increase tourist attractiveness and maintain leisure travel even during periods of travel restrictions.
An important cellular event associated with reduced structural and functional recovery after stroke in aged animals is the early formation of a scar in the infarcted region that impairs neural ...recovery and repair. Despite the detrimental impact of infarct scar formation, the brain regions and cell types that supply the components of the scar are not well characterized. We hypothesized that premature cerebral scar formation in aged animals is associated with an altered cellular response to cerebral ischemia. Focal cerebral ischemia was produced by reversible occlusion of the right middle cerebral artery in 3 month- and 20 month-old male Sprague Dawley rats. After 3, 7, 14, and 28 days, brain tissue was subjected to real-time reverse-transcriptase-PCR (RT-PCR) and immunostaining for 1) a cellular proliferation marker (BrdU); 2) a neuroepithelial marker (nestin); 3) an astrocytic marker (glial fibrillary acidic protein GFAP); 4) a neuronal marker, doublecortin; and 5) a basal lamina marker (laminin), and analyzed using 3D-reconstruction of confocal images. In this model the infarct was localized primarily in the parietal cortex. By RT-PCR there was a robust increase in nestin mRNA transcripts shortly after stroke, and this increase was particularly intense in aged rats. Accordantly, we found in aged rats a rapid delimitation of the infarct area by nestin-positive cells and an early incorporation of these cells into the glial scar. The capillaries of the corpus callosum were the major source of proliferating, nestin-positive cells, many of which were also immunoreactive for doublecortin, although a smaller population of nestin cells were associated with the ventricular walls. Despite the proliferation of nestin cells, they did not make a significant contribution to neurogenesis in the infarcted cortex, possibly because the corpus callosum impedes the migration of subventricular zone-derived nestin-positive cells into the lesioned area. We conclude that: (i) the aged brain has the capability to mount a cytoproliferative response to injury, but the timing of the cellular and genetic reaction to cerebral insult is accelerated in aged animals; (ii) the proliferating cells contribute to the formation of the glial scar, but few of the cells appear to become neurons; and (iii) the vasculature plays a hitherto unrecognized role as a source of proliferating cells after stroke. Because capillary-derived cells help to form the glial scar, elucidating the molecular basis of this phenomenon and its acceleration in the aging brain could yield novel approaches to enhancing neurorestoration in the elderly.
