André Salmon has explored manyfold forms of writing over the span of an extremely long career, extending from the turn of the century – he started as a poet in 1903 – up to the post-WW II years. ...Salmon’s oeuvre encompasses poetry and prose writing, reaches out to theatre, memoir and art criticism, while embracing journalism in general. His polyphonic work deserves its place in the context of international modernism, especially when reconsidered in the light of recent archival research and the discovery of new documents.
Chez Apollinaire les langues italienne et française entretiennent un rapport de coprésence fructueux. Notre étude se propose de suivre les traces de cet italien, langue maternelle, qui parsème son ...oeuvre d’écrivain, de journaliste et dont l’importance est confirmée par ses témoignages privés. Apollinaire met en œuvre une stratégie d’écriture portant sur l’expérimentation linguistique et visant aussi bien son positionnement dans le champ littéraire français, que son espace identitaire personnel.
In Apollinaire’s work, the Italian and French languages fruitfully coexist. Our study proposes to follow the traces of this Italian, his mother tongue, scattered throughout his work as a writer and journalist and whose importance is confirmed by his private testimonies. Apollinaire implements a writing strategy based on linguistic experimentation and aimed at both his positioning in the French literary field and his personal identity space.
This article aims to present a panorama of the main critical studies regarding the literary translingualism and aims to define the evolution of the development of this concept. We will track the ...studies evolution from Edward Said (2000), to Robert Jouanny (2000), Anne Rosine Delbart (2005) Véronique Porra (2011), ect. and stress the importance of the American studies that thanks to Steven G. Kellman (2000) introduced the definition of literary translingualism.
In France, the turn of the 21st-century has given rise to a welter of considerations on the condition of literature. The present article aims to present the various sides of the debate about ...contemporary literature, showing what connects it to the 50s Nouveau Roman and to the following postmodern wave. It goes without saying that there is no question of going back to traditional realism while stressing, on all sides, the need for a new realism. Instances can be found in various quarters: from the supporters of a world literature in French (Littérature-monde) to new versions of life-writing, to genres’ hybridisation. The common ground is an attempt to represent the subject in the context of its own unstable identities and within the undetermined realm between fiction and reality.
