This article found that the personal competence of employees, their emotional commitment, basic compensation and benefits, organization management, organizational commitment, and work design are the main influencing factors. Therefore, it is recommended that enterprises focus on cultivating employees’ work abilities and improve their performance through reasonable management, rewards, and work design.
A proper understanding of urban functions is fundamental to prevent urban problems and promote better built environments. While previous studies focus mainly on inferring urban function types, there ...are few understandings of how urban functions organize spatially from the perspective of spatial co-occurrence of activities. To address this issue, we propose a new method to mine the co-location patterns (CPs) of urban activities with ‘Point-of-Interest’ (POI) data. We implement a comparative analysis with 25 major cities in China to recognize their commonness/distinctiveness in the spatial organization of urban functions. We identify nearly a thousand unique POI CPs for these cities. By aggregating the resulting CPs, we create the urban function graphs for each city to reflect the inter-connections of different function types. Most cities have relatively high graph densities, suggesting the mixture of urban functions in the space. Despite the relatively similar structures among cities, their manifestations of POI CPs vary greatly from one city to another. The commonly found POI CPs (witnessed in at least 20 cities) only contributes to 6.2% of the total unique POI CPs. The cities of Wuxi, Chengdu, Ningbo, Shenzhen and Chongqing have most distinctive urban functional structures compared to other cities.

Chalcones (1,3-diaryl-2-propen-1-ones) are precursors for flavonoids and isoflavonoids, which are common simple chemical scaffolds found in many naturally occurring compounds. Many chalcone ...derivatives were also prepared due to their convenient synthesis. Chalcones as weandhetic analogues have attracted much interest due to their broad biological activities with clinical potentials against various diseases, particularly for antitumor activity. The chalcone family has demonstrated potential in vitro and in vivo activity against cancers via multiple mechanisms, including cell cycle disruption, autophagy regulation, apoptosis induction, and immunomodulatory and inflammatory mediators. It represents a promising strategy to develop chalcones as novel anticancer agents. In addition, the combination of chalcones and other therapies is expected to be an effective way to improve anticancer therapeutic efficacy. However, despite the encouraging results for their response to cancers observed in clinical studies, a full description of toxicity is required for their clinical use as safe drugs for the treatment of cancer. In this review, we will summarize the recent advances of the chalcone family as potential anticancer agents and the mechanisms of action. Besides, future applications and scope of the chalcone family toward the treatment and prevention of cancer are brought out.
Cancer is a hyper-proliferative disease. Whether the proliferative state originates from the cell-of-origin or emerges later remains difficult to resolve. By tracking de novo transformation from ...normal hematopoietic progenitors expressing an acute myeloid leukemia (AML) oncogene MLL-AF9, we reveal that the cell cycle rate heterogeneity among granulocyte-macrophage progenitors (GMPs) determines their probability of transformation. A fast cell cycle intrinsic to these progenitors provide permissiveness for transformation, with the fastest cycling 3% GMPs acquiring malignancy with near certainty. Molecularly, we propose that MLL-AF9 preserves gene expression of the cellular states in which it is expressed. As such, when expressed in the naturally-existing, rapidly-cycling immature myeloid progenitors, this cell state becomes perpetuated, yielding malignancy. In humans, high CCND1 expression predicts worse prognosis for MLL fusion AMLs. Our work elucidates one of the earliest steps toward malignancy and suggests that modifying the cycling state of the cell-of-origin could be a preventative approach against malignancy.
In this work, a novel fluorescence sensing strategy was proposed for the detection of gentamicin based on fluorescent carbon quantum dots (CQDs) and gold nanoparticles (AuNPs). Herein, the CQDs were ...green-synthesized for the first time via a one-step hydrothermal method utilizing brown sugar as the precursor. In the presence of citrate-stabilized AuNPs, the fluorescence of CQDs was quenched efficiently. Gentamicin, on the other hand, had a higher affinity for AuNPs and was able to compete with CQDs for a preferential binding to AuNPs, which ultimately led to the aggregation of AuNPs and freeing of CQDs in solution, causing the fluorescence recovery of CQDs. Based on the above phenomenon, the concentrations of gentamicin could be ascertained by detecting the variations in fluorescence intensity of CQDs. This sensing strategy exhibited excellent selectivity in various antibiotics. At the same time, the method displayed outstanding sensitivity for gentamicin, which was successfully applied to real samples detection.

Over the past few decades, ...copper-induced cell death, named cuproptosis, has become increasingly recognized as an important process mediating the pathogenesis and progression of cardiovascular disease (CVD), including atherosclerosis, stroke, ischemia-reperfusion injury, and heart failure. Therefore, an in-depth understanding of the regulatory mechanisms of cuproptosis in CVD may be useful for improving CVD management. Here, we review the relationship between copper homeostasis and cuproptosis-related pathways in CVD, as well as therapeutic strategies addressing copper-induced cell death in CVD.
Angiogenesis is important for the progression of gastric cancer (GC). Y-box binding protein 1 (YB-1) predicts advanced disease and indicates neovasculature formation in GC tissues, while the related ...mechanisms remain elusive. Exosomes mediate intercellular communications via transferring various molecules including proteins, lipids, mRNAs, and microRNAs, while the cargos of GC exosomes and the related mechanisms in GC angiogenesis were rarely reported except for several microRNAs.
In this study, human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) were, respectively, treated by the exosomes isolated from the YB-1 transfected and the control SGC-7901 cells (SGC-7901-OE-Exo and SGC-7901-NC-Exo), and their apoptosis, proliferation, migration, invasion, and angiogenesis were, sequentially, compared. The levels of angiogenic factors including VEGF, Ang-1, MMP-9 and IL-8 in the exosome-treated HUVECs and the GC-derived exosomes were, separately, detected using PCR and Western blotting as well as RNA sequencing assays.
We observed the consistent level of YB-1 in the exosomes and their originated GC cells, and the internalization of exosomes into HUVECs. Comparing with SGC-7901-NC-Exo, SGC-7901-OE-Exo significantly inhibited the apoptosis but promoted the proliferation, migration, invasion, and angiogenesis of HUVECs, within which the increased mRNA and protein levels of VEGF, Ang-1, MMP-9 and IL-8 were demonstrated. Meanwhile, mRNA levels of VEGF, Ang-1, MMP-9 and IL-8 showed no significant difference between SGC-7901-NC-Exo and SGC-7901-OE-Exo, although statistically higher mRNA of YB-1 was detected in the SGC-7901-OE-Exo.
Our findings illustrate YB-1 as the key component of exosome to promote GC angiogenesis by upregulating specific angiogenic factors in the exosome-treated endothelial cells but not in the exosomes themselves.

The recent application of combined and extended treatment strategies have improved the HBsAg clearance rate, and several patients achieved HBsAg clearance in clinical treatment. In addition, the durability of and clinical outcomes after HBsAg clearance have become the focus of both researchers and clinicians. This article reviews HBsAg clearance in terms of accessibility, durability, improvements in prognosis and relevant advances.
Remote sensing change detection (RSCD) is an important yet challenging task in Earth observation. The booming development of convolutional neural networks (CNNs) in computer vision raises new ...possibilities for RSCD, and many recent RSCD methods have introduced CNNs to achieve promising improvements in performance. In this paper we propose a novel multidirectional fusion and perception network for change detection in bi-temporal very-high-resolution remote sensing images. First, we propose an elaborate feature fusion module consisting of a multidirectional fusion pathway (MFP) and an adaptive weighted fusion (AWF) strategy for RSCD to boost the way that information propagates in the network. The MFP enhances the flexibility and diversity of information paths by creating extra top-down and shortcut-connection paths. The AWF strategy conducts weight recalibration for every fusion node to highlight salient feature maps and overcome semantic gaps between different features. Second, a novel perceptual similarity module is designed to introduce perceptual loss into the RSCD task, which adds perceptual information, such as structure and semantic information, for high-quality change map generation. Extensive experiments on four challenging benchmark datasets demonstrate the superiority of the proposed network compared with eight state-of-the-art methods in terms of F1, Kappa, and visual qualities.
