The following Stentys Left Main registry aimed to assess clinical outcomes of LM percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) using such self-expandable platform (Stentys). Conclusion The real-life ...multicenter registry showed that the use of Stentys DES self-expanding coronary stent is associated with acceptable short and midterm outcomes in all-comer population of patients including ACS with significant LM stenosis.
A case of a 29-year-old woman 18 days after delivery with catastrophic antiphospholipid syndrome secondary (CAPS) due to undiagnosed systemic lupus erythematosus, leading to cardiogenic shock is ...reported. Laboratory evaluation revealed increased anticardiolipin antibodies, lupus anticoagulant, antinuclear antibody and thrombocytopenia. Left ventricular ejection fraction was 20%, neurologic deficit and acute renal failure were also present. Cardiac involvement is common in CAPS, but cardiomyopathy due to microvascular thrombosis is rare. CAPS should be considered as a cause of acute heart failure in a women with systemic lupus erythematosus. In the presented case early therapy with anticoagulants, steroids, immunoglobulins and plasmaferesis was beneficial.
The authors attempt to explore the positives of cross-cultural interactions in multinational companies (MNC). The prior research has generally accentuated the problems in the relationship among ...foreigners and less effort has been made so far to examine the benefits of multiculturalism. Therefore, there is a need to fill in the gap identified above by providing the evidence that professional contacts with representatives from a different national cultural background may be very useful for both MNCs and individuals who are employed by them. The results of the authors' study suggest that the following major positives can be obtained due to cultural diversity, namely: 1. personal growth; 2. flexibility in working styles; 3. enhanced learning; 4. more perspectives, self-reflection; 5. individual benefits; 6. more effective communication; and 7. confrontation with stereotypes.
Rates and importance of periprocedural myocardial injury (PMI) after crossing coronary chronic total occlusions (CTOs) is not well understood. This study sought to investigate long-term clinical ...implications of PMI in patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) for single CTO utilizing antegrade technique.
Out of 11,957 patients undergoing non-urgent PCI, a total of 1110 patients with symptomatic angina and single CTO were treated by antegrade PCI and observed for up to 10 years. The primary objective included cardiac death, while the secondary aim comprised all major adverse cardiovascular and cerebrovascular event (MACCE) rate.
Troponin-defined PMI occurred in 4.7% patients (n = 52). At 1 year, the cardiac death and MACCE rates were significantly higher in patients with vs without PMI (hazard ratio HR, 5.72; 95% confidence interval CI, 1.59-20.49; P=.01; HR, 1.84; 95% CI, 1.07-3.18; P=.03, respectively). At long-term follow-up, patients with PMI had a trend toward a higher incidence of cardiac death than patients without PMI (HR, 2.51; 95% CI, 0.99-6.33; P=.05) and no differences were demonstrated in terms of overall MACCE between both groups (HR, 1.19; 95% CI, 0.73-1.93; P=.49). After propensity score adjustment, no significant differences were observed regarding the short-term and long-term outcomes.
CTO-PCI is a safe procedure if routinely performed in symptomatic patients at a high-volume center. PMI does not influence long-term outcomes after antegrade CTO-PCI.
PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to show how individuals perceive the quality of intercultural interactions at work in multinational subsidiaries and to address the question of what actually ...prevails in their accounts, i.e., “the dark side” or “the bright side.”Design/methodology/approachThe authors report the findings from five subsidiaries located in Poland and interviews with 68 employees of these companies.FindingsThe “bright side” dominated the interviewees’ accounts. The phenomenon of high social identity complexity or common in-group identity can help explain the findings. The results also shed some new light on the associations between the context of subsidiaries and the perception of the quality of intercultural interactions.Research limitations/implicationsThe paper contributes to the literature on cultural diversity and intercultural interactions in multinational subsidiaries. As the “bright side” of interactions was emphasized in the interviews, it particularly supports positive cross-cultural scholarship studies. Yet the explorative research does not allow for a broader generalization of the results.Practical implicationsManagers of multinational corporations (MNCs) should do the following: shape the context of MNCs to influence the dynamics of intercultural interactions and the way they are seen by their employees; emphasize common in-group identity to help their employees to adopt more favorable attitudes toward intercultural interactions; look for individuals with multicultural identity who display more positive approaches to intercultural contacts; place emphasis on recruiting individuals fluent in the MNC’s functional language; offer language training for the staff; and recruit employees with significant needs for development who will perceive more opportunities in intercultural contacts.Social implicationsThe research demonstrates that the multicultural workplace of MNCs may be recognized by employees as activating the positive potential of the individuals and organizations that make up a society.Originality/valueThe accounts of intercultural interactions are analyzed to illuminate some significant foundations of how individuals perceive such interactions. The study provides a qualitative lens and highlights the positive approach to intercultural interactions. It may redress the imbalance in prior research and satisfy the need for positive cross-cultural scholarship.
Companies today are faced with marketing challenges that adversely affect the growth of the company, they crave to improve the quality of their products, enhance their customer service relationship ...and effectively publicize their products using social media platforms by adopting marketing strategies and methodologies that can help execute these primary objectives. The aim of the paper is to present best practices in agile social media marketing.

Objective: The discussion presented in this paper focuses on the practical coaching techniques premised on lasting principles of human learning; principles that are crucial to coaching relationships ...of all kinds. The principles involved tap into years of psychological research and practice (Kanfer & Goldstein, 1991; Mahoney, 1991) that focuses on issues that prompt changes in people, the important factors that fosters relationships and the ways of getting people to give up their regular actions for a new set. Methodology: The article’s research is based on extensive literature analysis. Findings: The research was not able to identify the specifics of what people value in different cultures; however, it captures the major active ingredients in learning endeavor, without taking culture into consideration. Value Added: The article discusses 3 main types of challenges that leadership coaches find across the globe and offers guidelines to handle them. Recommendations: Future papers on that topic research should include both qualitative and quantitative research findings.
